with this new mall, I foresee many malls failing in KD with Tropicana Gardens, Sunway Nexis, Encorp Strand(failing already), sunway nexis, this new 6 storey mall (not forgetting Sunway Giza, Cascades,existing dataran sunway retail)

ya but it's not easy to get tenants nowadays.. u see quill n IOI City Mall had difficulties.. retailers will be afraid as too many malls are close to each other..


let's see how things are in 3-4 years after GST n fuel hike with people spending less on shopping n upmarket food..

ya.. esp inside Tropicana there... Of all the malls I listed, Tropicana Gardens is the one most likely to succeed la.. but they need to really present a USP to retailers la.. Encorp Strand can expect to tutup kedai la looking at their tenants.. Nexis all duno how..

Yes that's the CONCEPT and exclusivity that is key to success when many malls sprout up from 2016-2018.. Strong ones with good catchment that can take the position of a Regional Mall for the area will succeed..

very true... I heard got some AEON's like the Tebrau n Bukit Tinggi one(maybe a lot more) operate until 11pm.. duno how their business after 10 la..

I think opposite got Giza bars n all maybe some people wanna shop before drinking I think they can try out for a few months first and revert back to 10pm if things don't work out..
