Wowzers, ribbon tweeters! Do you have the faintest idea how much those cost? Please note that the budget in question was only RM500 to RM600... hmm.gif

Hello guys!So, I'm looking for a 2.0 set.

Going to use for music (headphones for gaming and movies)
I listen to almost all genres. But mostly alternative rock/rock, oldies.

Can make room for speakers so speaker size is not a problem.
Room size is around 8 x 13 feet.

Both of my previous speaker systems were 2.1 sets, oldest one I had was really good but I can't recall the brand. Then had edifier (under 100rm) which I forgot the model. Right now I'm using my laptop speakers (Z400) which I find better than tiny usb speakers.

Budget: Errr, haven't planned it out yet but two choices, below 300 and below 400. Recommend for both price range!
Thanks in advance!

For below RM300, try looking at Edifier R1600T Plus. And as for below RM400, try looking Edifier R1900TIII or Edifier R2000T... icon_rolleyes.gif

Lots of choices for under RM5K thus hard to pin down. Choices can range from 5.1 multimedia speakers (such as Logitech Z906), HTIB (home theater in a box such as Yamaha YHT-497) to a combo of an AV receiver plus home theater speakers. By the way, what type of connections are you going to use (from TV and Astro decoder)?... sweat.gif

recommend u build ur system piece by piece to achieve best result. 5k can buy alot stuff. get a decent receiver like yamaha v675, onkyo nr626, denon x2000. if wan full in a box, maybe can consider pioneer aj series, get the package with infinity subwoofer, then u are good to go. if u wan more custom setup and not paying for the advertisment fee, can find https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showuser=365585 for custom setup, best bang for buck speakers, hidden gem i would say.

Thanks for the reply!
I found a temporary solution for now though, using a krator n2 20020 set with an edifier M1350 subwoofer via an audio splitter.
Since my old set, (M1350) is edifier, i thought of going for another brand this time and checked out a lot of stuff and saw Swan Hivi.
Since I'm not in a rush I thought I would go for Swan Hivi D1010 IV (400rm) instead of Edifer R1900TIII (370rm?) since they're both around the same price range.
Any thoughts on this or is it better to save up for a 2.0 set which costs a bit more, lets say around 500~600rm?
Please give your thoughts~ biggrin.gif
Thanks~

Well, that sounds pretty much like using HDMI connections. Most home theater systems (especially the high end ones) comes with its own integrated AV receiver already (including that Yamaha one I've mentioned earlier). Also check carefully the specifications (such as number of HDMI ports) before buying. wink.gif

Then I would suggest auditioning those speakers and see which one you like/prefer first before deciding... hmm.gif

For RM500 to RM600 range, there can only be one 2.0 speaker. And that is Edifier Studio 7 (a.k.a Edifier R2700), which is very powerful at 128WRMS. If you are willing to go the distance (spend that much) then Edifier Studio 7 is the way to go... flex.gif

I need a speaker set for my tv . Mainly use for watching movies and playing some nice music . Im looking for budget at rm 500 . I need some bass too. Should i b getting pc speakers like altec lansing and edifier or philips soundbar which cost around rm 600?

Im not sure how god the sound by pc speakers on tv set? Will it sound better than soundbar? And between edifier and altec lansing, which one of this is better ?
*
Of course a real speaker system will always be better than a soundbar. Anyway, what type of connection are you going to use? Is it audio output from the TV itself? Nowadays for clarity, may want to look at Edifier while the Altec Lansing more considerd as boomboxes. hmm.gif
