RM 3-5k?

Swan H5 and H10 tongue.gif

its not that easy to get a super high end PC speakers. At some point I feel you really have to go the amplifier, passive speaker way...just my two cents icon_rolleyes.gif

If it wasn't for the existence of the Swan speakers, I would have gone passive, honestly.

I guess you could go for the Gigabyte T3, but I dont think its still a popular choice

other than the ones that I have mentioned. Any other recommendation? My room is about 2.6m x 2.5m x 3.3m. Its not very big, so I think 2.0 or a 2.1 system should suffice. Budget is up to RM1500. Will I need any soundcard or additional accessories?
*
Im currently using using a pair of H4 with a H10, and trust me, this are DEFINITELY all rounders smile.gif
They sound good for music, movies, games...hard to not like it, seriously. I would suggest you to go audition it at Cyntrix Tech shop at Puchong.

Wow, awesome setup.  thats already a 3k setup isnt it? hahaha.. Need 1 year to save that kind of cash
*
I would recommend you to get the H5s first, then maybe in a few months get the H10? The H series is very flexible nod.gif

It was definitely worth the 3k though laugh.gif

Sifu please advice me out. I currently own m3300sf and i feel want to upgrade my speaker (budget 400 to 500). I currently using laptop realtek onboard sound card. It is better to upgrade external sound card and stick to m3300sf or buy c3? My primary usage is on music and movie and Prefer treble over bass. C3 or s33d better?
*
My recommendation, save up more and go for the swan m50w or s530d if you have more space for the sub. Trust me, I don't think you will be super happy with the c3 since it not THAT much better than the m3300sf.

I watch with headphone or anything in front of me. Haha... And yep cinema, old school guy bah... I listen music more than the time I spend for movie so music more important. Last time used to spent time more on game and movie. Anyway, I missed my SP 2500 bass. cry.gif The rumbling, fuh! With your kind of setup of course can enjoy movie. cry.gif
*
ah, I see. your head fi setup on your sig way better than mine sweat.gif I only have a JVC FXT 90 lol. Feels more than enough ready for my portable needs. Somehow not so picky for portable audio.

Question, with your SP2500, have you ever heard the subwoofer rattling? I rmb when I had it last time, when the scene/music has REALLY DEEP bass, can hear lots of wind sound on the sub, really kills the moment. But I definitely miss it too, the trebles were really good, sometimes feels like its better than my H4 lol. And of course, the control pod. Now so hard to change volume sweat.gif

Yup, for portable jani ada saja ma... biggrin.gif

What you mean rattling? I never have this issue. But key and coin rattling, yep. Haha... You mean hollow sound? What music is that? I never have this issue. The only problem I faced is the bass is large in quantity but not enough impact. I like tight and powerful bass which is important to my ears for music. While SP 2500 got this powerful but loose bass which is good for cinema like bass. And now my R1900Tiii, need to extend my hand to adjust the volume. laugh.gif

Anyway, why changed?
*
Hmm, maybe mine was an early unit(bought on April 2011, reviews were coming in as I pressed F5 on google chrome that time, so it was barely available that time lol) so maybe its an early batch issue. Why I changed? because three weeks before the warranty ended, it spoiled. Couldn't hear anything unless I maxed out the volume, and even then it sounded worse than my phone speaker lol. Sent it back for warranty, but got a new set instead! So without thinking, I just sold it off and got these babies as I got poisoned by it during the three weeks wait lol, and no regrets at all!!

Have got to go hear the M50W since a few of you prefer the SP2500 rather than it hmm.gif I'm biased towards the M50W only because of what I currently have lol, so nowadays I tend to not give advices to ppl who are confused between the SP2500 and M50W tongue.gif

Bro..went over some shopping malls to check out edifier..and seems like not many carry them. I couldnt even see either the R2800 or E30...so hav no idea how it's gonna sound like.

On the other hand, there are a handful of altec lansing and logitech for 2.1...

on 5.1, there's this pioneer on promo...sounds really good...5.1 + amp for RM2.7k available both at Harvey Norman and Sen Q..most probably i will be getting this set since the price looks ok....the only problm is the 5.1 cables..gonna be pretty messy.... So bro u have any idea on this set?

Though i am good with 2.1 from altec lansing as well coz my fren recommended the Octane 7 coz he's using it..and he say it's pretty good..and cheap at around RM300+...

my budget's around 2~3k..but if can get a good one at 300+..then why not...can use the balance money to get a yamaha mini hifi at RM1.55k...still got change at rm2k.. lol
*
If your budget is 3k, why not go for aktimate mini?

I just bought the M3300SF and realized the bass is kinda weak. But most importantly, the vocals are too strong, covering up the instrumental alot, which wasn't really suitable for me sad.gif

Just wondering is there any other speaker that has a balance in all those 3? Was thinking of trying the S330 since many people recommend it. Any users can give advice on whether it will suit me?

If I can set to lower the vocals in the M3300SF that would be good, no need so much trouble laugh.gif
*
i used that speaker (M3300SF) for less than two months, because the bass was too weak and the trebles were killing my ears. Do yourself a favor and get the swan m50w biggrin.gif

Actually after some testing just now, I realized the problem is with the subwoofer. Its like all edifier subwoofer's bass is the 'boom boom' type rather than the 'thump thump' type (its hard to explain, thats the best i can put it in words). Can advice on which brand and model has the 'thump thump' type subwoofer? sweat.gif Or is it changeable by other means?
*
aik? as far as i remember, m3300sf is the thump type, but the thump is super weak which was why i got rid of it. I am finding it hard to believe that ,s330 especially, has the boom boom type of bass. maybe the c3 might be that way, but even then its much better than the boom logitech produces.I think you should try the m3400 or maybe even the p3080m. If after that you still feel edifier is the boom boom type im afraid ur ears demand high end stuff and u r gonna have to increase ur budget sweat.gif

when u audition those speakers, u sure that only one speaker is turned on when u were hearing it? those shop salesman like to trick customers by turning on many speakers to make the bass go crazy and trick customers. Seen that happen soooo many times doh.gif

Yea the m3300sf bass is super weak, but I'm not sure what type of bass it is coz it so weak i cant hear it properly sweat.gif But after a few times listening by placing the woofer at different location, i feel the m3300sf is the thump type. I was actually looking for a bass like the one on the Sonic Gear Evo 7 Pro. Do you know what type is it?

So the bass for the M3400 and P3080M is stronger than the M3300SF? For some reasons when I listen to the C3 i felt that its worse than the HCS2330, maybe that unit is faulty? hmm.gif

And yes, i made sure all speakers are off and the surrounding is silent before testing smile.gif
*
evo 7 = boom boom
m3300sf = thump thump
biggrin.gif

yea, maybe you should wait for the C3MKII and see how it is...

I see. Then I'm looking for the boom boom type biggrin.gif

Haha I wanted to but c3 might be over my budget. Meanwhile is there any edifier speaker with the boom boom type bass?

Also just wondering the HK soundstix is it good? And does it really worth the RM800 price?
*
i cant recommend the sound stick since i dont really like the sound, but for your budger, you should really check out the m3400 and p3080m like i mentioned before. You might like those.
