QUOTE(lex @ Nov 8 2013, 09:55 PM) Look at the power difference between them, for subwoofer Corsair SP2500 has 120WRMS while Edifier X3 has 18WRMS only (big difference there, by a factor of at least 6.6x). Then the overall size of the subwoofer enclosure for Edifier X3 is kinda small (when compared to the 6.5-inch woofer driver), thus can't expect lots of bass. IMHO even the Edifier M3300 subwoofer would beat it hands down (higher wattage and bigger enclosure). Meanwhile Edifier Studio 7 has two 6.5-inch woofers (plus even bigger enclosures) with total of 128WRMS. Of course, Edifier speakers are more musically adept since they have better clarity. sorry bro, i am talking about HiVi X3 >< dont know edifier came out with X3 as well.. i got sp2500 and Hivi x3, but my sp2500 spoilt.. |

QUOTE(lex @ Nov 8 2013, 10:21 PM) Then should have mentioned brand and model properly. Even from the specifications, that HiVi X3 is outgunned by Corsair SP2500, with smallish 3-inch drivers, smaller enclosures and only 28WRMS per channel (for a total of 56WRMS if not mistaken). Needless to say, it will also be outgunned by Edifier Studio 7 as well... specs wise yeah, bass sure cannot fight sp2500, but as i said, it has beter vocal and sound quality, sp2500 satelitte and sub just cant glue well. u felt the separation between them. I have to send it back to west msia, which the shipping might cost rm100-200, not to say later send back again the same price, so i will just fxxk it la.Is that Corsair SP2500 still under warranty, or have you send to RMA already? i am concerned about edifier studio 7 size, and i dont know how it sounded, but i am quite loving x3, just for music. last time it tried r2800 where ppl say until like godlike 2.0, it sounded so muffled and very bland, unlike Audioengine A5 where it is so lively and got good bass, X3 is near to Audioengine a5 but bass lacking abit, so i am looking for something that i can use it with my console, my pc for multimedia purposes |

QUOTE(lex @ Nov 9 2013, 07:34 PM) As for that "glue", its possible the speaker positioning issue especially the distance from the subwoofer and the angle of the satellites. Well, can be quite a hassle buying stuff from across the South China Sea and then sending it back for warranty... that's the prob for us in the east, either we have no choice, or we have to pay premium price for a better stuff, but we do have HiVi retailer here. Yeah i am more clarity kind of guys, who is very picky about listening to details. Although now i use creative aurvana live headphones, i am turning towards more warmth signature, sometimes need to relax abit Though have not heard HiVi X3 (and also Edifier R2800) yet, but it seems you may prefer "bright" speakers. Aye, those with some "coloration" and a bit of boost at the upper frequencies which makes many sounds much sharper and more forward sounding. Being having smaller drivers (with high wattage), usually the upper frequencies are more significant and stronger/louder. Well, currently I have a Edifier Studio 7 with me which sounds very clean, and at times too clean (especially the trebles). Have to wait for my review write up, as quite busy with other stuff also (like audio equipment and speaker repairs)... So how is the bass of Studio 7, do u get the heart thumping bass when like gaming or movie? how much for the studio 7? |

Becos if the audio is 2ch only, u use 5.1, it only output 2ch to 5ch, i believe ur 5.1 only output the 2 front only when listening to music. just that if u have extra money to spare and dont mind the lower quality of sound from 5.1 compared to 2.1/2.0 at the same price, u can go for 5.1, any will do.

aego m 1 of the best for musical sounding. i rate it better than soundsticks 3. sound nearly like AE A5+, but of coz the tiny satellite cannot beat A5+ fuller sound.

QUOTE(desires2 @ Jan 1 2014, 07:17 PM) I not sifu haha.. listen awhile before lo, 1st time listen to it, totally fell in love, but too rare oledi, by the time i got money to buy, cant find it elsewhere.. now using other stuff.. then 2nd time go audit AE a5+, then i think aego m not too far behind. not a bad speaker, for music la haha.. gaming, maybe not enuf oomph effect. I now using sp2500 for my ps4, and hivi x3 for my desktop. After using x3 for listening to songs, i cannot go back to sp2500 oledi.. sp2500 sounded too thin in terms of vocal. my next target is to setup a HT for my ps4 |

QUOTE(zhihao4456 @ Jan 28 2014, 01:36 AM) recommend u build ur system piece by piece to achieve best result. 5k can buy alot stuff. get a decent receiver like yamaha v675, onkyo nr626, denon x2000. if wan full in a box, maybe can consider pioneer aj series, get the package with infinity subwoofer, then u are good to go. if u wan more custom setup and not paying for the advertisment fee, can find https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showuser=365585 for custom setup, best bang for buck speakers, hidden gem i would say. |

QUOTE(SamsengFan @ Jul 4 2014, 01:38 PM) With a 2k budget, trying to use the speaker for both music and movie. Emphasize on music though. can consider X4. My X3 after 1year use, i felt like it passed the burn-in period and now it sounded awesome. X4 could do better with bigger driver, more complete sound. Some recommended audioengine a5+. Good for wallet too as no need for amp already. But I'm open to opinion too. Saw some compare the cheaper aego m with ae a5+ Hivi m200mk3? D1080? X4? |
