I see. Trying to understand bonds for the golden years.
That I know. Just wondering for the golden years where preservation is the target haha

Hmm,... I think,... off the top of my head, 30-year US Treasury bonds is the safest when the yield is high enough !

ALL other instruments, tho' being so-called safe instruments, egs FDs, high-grade corporate and other tenure sovereign bonds, have reinvestments risks !

Or,............diversify !

Yea yea. Safe is a relative term, it all depends on your purpose and the duration matching. An insurance company buying 20-year US T bond to hedge its liabilities is safe, but a commercial bank buying 20-year T-bond will be quickly in trouble.

Who asked you to buy so much ??!!?? I know what you are implying - Silicon Valley Bank back in March this year - I was staying in Sydney then,.. nothing much to do except doing charitable work to help the investors there,...

I studied the SVB failure.

The T bonds are safe, but the bank must know how to manage this exposure,...come on,..

If DBS can up the dividend again compared to the previous qtr,....... wahh,..... really teh tarik session, bro,...

All the best, bro Shing3e,.... I'm excited too. I bought DBS because it is the only SG bank that pays out qtrly dividend.

BUT,... I am also not averaging-UP because I am mindful of what may happen when Feds finally pauses OR reverses. I see today,.. this morning, DBS was in red,.. then subsequently,... turned green !!!!!!

Today,... I talked too much in forum already,...

......still haven't studied Aims A report yet,.. don't know whether dividend rose or dropped. I think shld be dropped - because the Gross Rental Income collected would be lesser than last year's with the depreciation of the AUD, vs our stronger SGD. But may dropped a bit only,... because Aussie props not making up a substantial pc of the pie. I'll know afterwards when I opened the Aims A reporting,...

Secondly I haven't fully captured that special 3Q dividend from KIT in my spreadsheets yet.
