Oscar assisted that goal, and assist one more to Neymar. Then Oscar horror miss, but Chelsea players have their moment tongue.gif

That's all i could watch, i need to go to bed.

EDIT: By the way, Ramires is playing in holding position. I ask Eddie Newton just now, he say he personally prefer him on the right. hmm.gif

The same I can say when he missed his free header in Olympics final.

As for Ramires, I am a bit divided. He was playing well last season in the wing, but not as this season goes. And the problem with him playing in holding position is he always caught off position.

He is when he plays for Brazil. With age of 21 and playing regularly for Brazil, that should mean something, isnt it? Hope he can bring his Brazil form to EPL. rclxm9.gif rclxm9.gif

not this again... after those malouda argument..

if he is coming it wont happen till January, and there lot of time till then, why would a club make a move now?

we couldnt foresee how will our new squad performance till then, or do we need additional reinforcement? not wise to pay ridiculous transfer fee.

Czechs claim Cech is to have surgery

helsea goalkeeper Petr Cech is struggling with an elbow injury that will require surgery next summer, according to Czech Republic's team doctor.

Champions League holders Chelsea are aware of the issue and have requested that Czech Republic rest Cech from friendly internationals, with coach Michal Bilek happy to agree with the club.

"An investigation showed a bit of ossification in his elbow, so they (Chelsea) are planning a surgery in England after the season," doctor Petr Krejci told the Czech news agency CTK.

"They have asked us if we could rest him in friendly fixtures. We have come to an agreement with coach Michal Bilek and decided to be on good terms with Chelsea.

"We are going to grant their wish and rest him. Petr cannot stretch the arm properly. If he has to stretch the elbow, it hurts him sometimes.

"There is nothing to be worried about, though. There is basically nothing that could make this problem worse.

"The only thing that could force an immediate surgery is if the intensity of pain would get much higher or if the elbow was blocked in some way."

Cech captained Czech Republic in Saturday's World Cup qualifier against Denmark in Copenhagen, which ended in a 0-0 draw, but he will sit out the Tuesday's friendly against Finland.

Manchester City and Chelsea given FFP wake-up call by Uefa

user posted image
Problem UEFA. tongue.gif

Manchester City and Chelsea have been given a wake-up call by Uefa, who have taken the first steps towards implementing their financial fair play scheme by hitting a range of European teams.

23 clubs competing in Uefa competitions this season have had their prize money temporarily withheld, as the organisation seeks to encourage sides to be financially stable.

While no Premier League sides have currently been affected, this strict approach could cause shockwaves through clubs including Manchester City and current European Champions Chelsea, who are both heavily financed by outside investors Sheikh Mansour and Roman Abramovich.

As part of Uefa’s requirements, clubs must provide information regarding the status of any overdue payments by the end of June, with 23 sides falling foul of repayment rules.

These clubs include European heavyweights such as Atletico Madrid, Sporting Lisbon and Fenerbahce, who will receive no prize money while investigations continue.

The only side competing in this season's Champions League to so far be affected are Spanish side Malaga, who finished fourth in La Liga last season.

Any club under further investigation has until the end of September to provide an updated situation with regards to overdue payments towards other clubs, employees and tax authorities.

Meanwhile, Uefa’s strict stance will remain in place until repayments have been made or until a final decision by the Uefa Club Financial Control Body (CFCB) is taken.

i think mosses, cesar, both will hv their debut this week, for letting players to rest for juve on wednesday ...

i dunno JT & ashley conditions but both probably wont play this week.

so my dreamteam this sat;

------------cech
cesar--cahill--luiz--betrand
-----ramires--mikel--------
mosses---hazard-----mata
-----------torres------------

sturidge in for 2nd half, ivanovic for cahill, oscar for ramires..

I though think otherwise. Qpr match is the right time to rest players. Why? Because 2 international matches in a week and juventus coming midweek right after. Yes its a derby and people say derby matches are intense and usually hard fought but qpr against chelsea..meh. Im not saying qpr is weak but they are one of the weaker teams in epl so its an opportunity actually. Besides its the beginning of the epl, i think its not too bad to draw a game or two rather than over tiring your players or risk injury. Juve match definately more important.

lamps must play cause terry is not. he's the vice captain

i think this is the right moment to try iva-luiz or iva-cahill combo with cesar on the right.

i hope to see moses play. and also please start sturridge

& it's the beginning of UCL too. whistling.gif

for me both matches are important.
if sked injury risk then no use splurge 80 millions.

it's part of the game. training oso can injured. Marin didnt play any competitive games and got injury during training..

my only scare for overuse player is Mata & 'luckily' he didnt get any call ups this week which is good for him to get some rest.

i heard Southampton oso one of the weakter team in epl but what i saw they almost snatch some points from both no.1 & no.2 of epl last season.

& bare in mind players like Moses & Cesar didnt join since pre season. it's always hard to gel with ur new teammates if u dont join in much earlier part of preseason. Which is why Kagawa & Chicharito didnt play for Olympic.

Counting since day 1 Charity Shield, it has been only 7 matches so far for the players (1 Charity Shield, 3 league matches, 1 Super Cup, 2 International matches)

doesnt sounds too heavy for me.. yet.

time will come for rotation esp during league cup on 25th/26th. + it has been like forever we use weaker side in the carling cup (except GK -> turnbull)

Well you have your points.
Yes it is the beginning of cl but theres only 6 games in cl group stage. Losing or drawing any one of those games are not same as drawing or losing any one game in epl. Besides juve is a strong team but definately you want to field a fresh strong team to face them.
Yes both match are important obviously who dont want to win all of them but we are talking about the best approach based on the scenario. I feel chelsea do have the advantage if resting key players ahead of the juve match.

Training can caused injury doh.gif
Its a mishap ma. Its about taking precaution and making best decisions. If marko marin didnt train didnt play any games and got injured so? You can go tell your player hey hazard, since marko nvr train nvr play also injured, you play all the way until you injured ok. Fully utilise you for the money we paid for u doh.gif

Yup we should not underestimate any epl teams but given some players having played 2 international games in ONE week and with juve coming mid next week, i feel its great to go against qpr because i will rest some key players. Its not the accumulation of games but playing 4 games with just 2 or 3 days rests apart is alot tiring.

Oh and kagawa got back pain and i think chicharito did play for mexico and he scored the only and winning goal smile.gif

Oh olympic ah. Why they are not chosen i dont know i dont watch olimpic. Maybe mexico many young bloods ma

I'm just going to throw my opinion in. I do feel we should rotate a little now, considering the international break and also Juventus match coming up. We don't have to play second string against QPR, just few personnel changes. I would like to see Sturridge or Moses. Mata will start both games coming up. I also feel that Lampard should be rested, but then there would be this captaincy issue, but still i feel it isn't that significant.

And also i think we should get the debuts of Azpi and Moses out of the way, i know they haven't gel and all that but they have to start some time right. Not sure about Oscar though, his game against China was a day earlier, but i'm 50-50 on whether he should play next game or not.

rotate a bit ok..but not like 3-4 players..

that's almost half a team edi.

CB : already rotate coz injuries/suspension(SuperCup)
LB : not really yet
RB : same
CM : apart from Mikel, yes
attacking third..not yet.

maybe can slot in Studge coz Ramires can play CM back (original position)
& throw in either Cesar / Moses.

tbh i want to see more Moses - can break in defence when the team cant do it.

Cesar still 50/50 for me. Iva is ok. only Super Cup last time damn bad. WCQ he's in superb form.. so he shud cont as starting 11

Marin not yet fit but in reserve team atm.
Mata might not be ready for QPR, no injuries, only because of long rest.

FINALLY EPL IS BACK!
These 2 weeks has been so boring.

I actually still think that Oscar need more time before he steps into the first XI. We're flooded in the attacking trio, so the only place he can grab a place is at the double pivot which Oscar still need some experience at that position.
I will go for this XI tonight.

Cech
Iva Terry Luiz Cole
Lampard Mikel
Ramires Hazard Bertrand
Torres

I hesitated between Ramires and Sturridge. But I think Ramires will be a better choice here because we need someone to track back and help the midfield a little bit. QPR midfield can be deadly if they're on form. They are a pretty decent team, look down on them and we'll be punished quite easily.

Depends on Terry and Cole fitness, else, Cahill and Bertrand in for their place and Moses to start on the left flank.
I do think Mata need some rest, he looks a bit worn out and RDM said he's not sure whether QPR game is too early for him. We've Juventus coming in the midweek too. So I think resting him would be a wiser choice.

Sturridge or Moses has to start IMO. Oscar start will be a bonus.

My line-up:

Cesar-Luiz-Cahill-Betrand
..........Mikel-Rami
Moses---Oscar---Hazard
----------Torres

IMO we should not risk cole & terry for today match. Look at our coming fixture we have double fixture every week until the October international break. I will be happy to see Cole terry lampard mata all tested. Mikel & ramires/romeu at double pivot. Moses hazard Oscar or maybe S23 lead the line. Weekend against juventus. Don play play. Atleast tonight we should arrange more physical force in the midfield 5.

Rdm should start to rest some player. I hope he learn from aletico Madrid lesson. Last match is crucial especially am full of energy but our side is way too tired.

Quite defensive lineup.
No additional creativity or firepower. But added workrate with Rami and Betrand.
I hope RDM make required changes promptly if necessary.

ypu expect a boring match when you see betrand and ramirez, this mean that RDM is playing a counter game, fast ball, but our midfield still yet up to the standard yet, you cant play UCL style where you can hope for draw, this is premier league.

it lies on the pivot. fixed that can see our striker getting more supply.

1) Dissappointed in Torres' reaction as well as his performance. He played every single minute so far, but coming off at 80th min acting like a b****. It was obvious the substution had to be made.

2) Lampard was unconvincing. Extremely poor for his standards. We are missing Meireles.

3) Sturridge and Moses deserve starts. Sturridge should have come on earlier.

4) Defense ok. Luiz did well

5) RDM was unconvincing too. Right off the get go we had no midfield whatsover. Extremely messy performance first half. Not enough attacking pressure to control the game. I hope he isn't even remotely pleased with the performance.

6) I've said this before and it's becoming clear that Mikel is the most important player in the team. It's obvious that the management thinks so as well. It's hard to criticize Mikel for clumsy passing because we had no control the game, forced to defend and rush forward.

still can't believe we went defensive again a team like QPR. makeshift leftwinger in the shape of bertrand, and ramires doing a similar job on the right. this is a team which was crushed and annihilated 5 - 0 by swansea. ridiculous. i have a bad feeling it'll be the same team served up in the CL. RDM walking a really thin tightrope here, and his stubborn attitude is rivaling the likes of AVB and scolari sweat.gif

So when he will start using oscar in first eleven. U paid 25m just to play as supersub? I don't know why he still think lampard as a key player? He should utilize Ramires energy, strenght to partner Mikel at midfield while start to use oscar on the right side. Lampard no longer a key player or untouchable. Look at giggs n scholes, only play for certain games. He should accept the fact that his time already pass. But I don't see RDM will changed that. He prefer to see Meireless.

dun think its lampard fault here. He never saying anything about play times. he also hinted that his times is near end. no longer can contribute as he use to.
it is the manager problem. unwilling to test all possible strategy. using the same thing over and over again.
it get analyze others.

In short RDM is too degil to use the same strategy. what the point if it can't work.
if Roman wanted a new manager plz david moyes the man.

a bit dissapointing with how we play last night. should have won it.. and we definitely deserved the draw. we are not looking to win the match.

really wondering why ramires survive the 90 minutes. he is definitely having a bad day at work. wayward passing, running like headless chicken. not synchronizing well with other attackers.. torres deserved to be sub. partly because he did not do enough to get into good position. other part is the team weird philosophy is utilizing him. how many aerial battle did he won yesterday? STOP punting the high ball to him. when sturridge got in, why did not put the high balls to him? torres is no drogba..

He prefer to see Meireless.

ramires should have been playing mid all along, he is way better there.

2 disappointing games already. RDM has to change something. I hope he doesn't play defensive against Juventus. We have the players to provide an attacking pressure on the team. Also I realize that team rely to much on the last few defenders, the tracking back has been poor. We faced a lot of one on one situations that they could have capitalized on.

Rest Lampard, bring back Mata, Ramires along side Mikel.

A boring draw...seriously lampard can't play week and week out already...he's just clueless when passing the ball....

& Mikel, always slow down the tempo of the game....a mistake that could have cost us the game..

our attack comes alive when Sturridge comes on.....why not start him as CF instead of Torres against Juventus....

No nonsense defending from Luiz & Moses did quite well in my opinion...

dunno why but moses lookk like kalou. hahah. torres has been given lots of oppurtunity yet he didnt deliver in a way we expected. really bad attacking play from last nite. we hv tonnes of forward players in our squad yet RDM decide to play a CM and LB as our wingers. we lost 3 easy points to be honest.

RDM is clueless.By the look of things he would always play Lampard-Mikel in midfield and Bertrand is probably his favorite player. Why put Bertrand when there's no really threat down that side? And another thing,Ramires would always start on the right wing. Why not just start Moses and Oscar and put Ramires in midfield? With all the attacking talents in the squad, and the team is still playing long-balls when what the fans want is fast attacking football. Believe me,against Juventus,RDM will employ this same formation. nod.gif Oscar might not even have been his buy.

a bit dissapointing with how we play last night. should have won it.. and we definitely deserved the draw. we are not looking to win the match.

really wondering why ramires survive the 90 minutes. he is definitely having a bad day at work. wayward passing, running like headless chicken. not synchronizing well with other attackers.. torres deserved to be sub. partly because he did not do enough to get into good position. other part is the team weird philosophy is utilizing him. how many aerial battle did he won yesterday? STOP punting the high ball to him. when sturridge got in, why did not put the high balls to him? torres is no drogba..

oscar and azpilicueta. when can they play? pay a lot of money for them to be at the bench and let uncompetent player be on the pitch. nice!
*
i noticed as well. does torres even bear a remote likeness to drogba? absolutely not. yet everyone from cech to ivanovic to ramires all insist on knocking in high balls for him to 'win' in the air. the few times where we played proper passes into him, he does something positive i.e : a quick pass out to ramires which was crossed for hazard but the latter failed to beat cesar, and the other instance where he controlled the ball on the right, dribbled through a couple of players and got a good shot away with his weaker foot. before anyone brings up that neat pass from hazard which he messed up by dribbling straight into ryan nelson, how many times did we actually give him the opportunity to do so?

yes studge looked lively. but how many times was he forced to drop deep to receive the ball, dribble out wide, etc. where's the service? if he starts the next three games and suffers the same fate as torres we'll all start crying out for the no.9's return. then if he struggles again, we'll be calling for falcao. the cycle will continue for as long as we disregard the midfield and style of play issues.

i took the time to watch liverpool's game yesterday. although they haven't won a game, i must admit brendan rodgers has a proper philosophy in place. you could see even deep in injury time with the scores level, they just refused to punt the ball up aimlessly, knowing full well they don't have a heskey / carroll upfront. rodgers has successfully hammered this principle into their thick skulls and he's fielding the personnel which he believes are able to perform in this system. it's called utilising your players' strengths. heck some would even call it plain ol' common sense. if robbie continues in the same manner i'm afraid our blip will come even sooner than expected.

haha.
indeed, well said.
The problem still persist as Chelsea still play drogba power type attack.
I dun understand y they still failed to see so. doh.gif
They should have more direct and fast attacking passing to Torres.
I have the felling RDM is now on the loss of ideas and blinded by his degilness. doh.gif

the other thing i dont agree is with how we distribute the ball from cech.

de gea of man utd already start rolling the ball to evra. >> a confirmed possession since they no more got berba. rooney, persie and chica quite impossible to win aerial battle
joe hart of man city will only play high ball when dzeko is in. or when yaya toure become their 2nd striker. other time? gave to kalarov or kompany.
same with reina and szesny. although arsenal now got a stronger forward in giroud.

easy thing yet people blame torres. if want to play like drogba was here, sell him while he still got value. and buy other player that you wish.

berangan nak main sempoi, tapi still punt the ball like nobody bisnes.

time to release the Kraken!! yeah, he's caught selfish numerous times but to hell with that. this guy deserves the same amount of chance given to Torres.

will Marin be ready? hope so

Lampard should be benched, his passing rate in the game against QPR was piss poor (69%).

But, will RDM brave enough to take the risk? we've seen some fast tempo football against Newcastle when Lampard got rested, and we also have seen how we got trashed by Atletico when Lampard & Mikel catching shadows.

he cant hold the ball..as simple as that..if you cant hold and play the ball..then the play only will be one way..and usually stuck once the opponent understand the pattern..sturridge and drogba can hold the ball and play..he cant..yes..he is not good enough holding the ball..that doesnt make him a bad player..he must learn the skill..why we buy him?..because we can.. laugh.gif

to be fair, sturridge haven't given the chances to prove his ability yet this season. 10minutes every now ann then is not enough for him to show his ability. + torres doing nothing for the past 2 games.

that is the same way we treat torres now. both torres and sturridge wanted the ball to their feet, not their head.

and yet people still asking why the hell torres is so ineffective when the real problem is not with him.

play to the strength of the player! then only talk whether he performed or not.

there are lots of proven case where players dont adapt because of gamestyle & u cant ask them to change the gamestyle in few days/months/years.
because it's their style since like what...kids?

not many players can change the gameplay style easily.

sheva, crespo...veron (2 clubs..still failed to adapt style? fair to say he's NOT FIT to the system)..
Zlatan (WORLD CLASS STRIKER cant adapt to Barcelona?? like whuutt?? )
Henry
Hleb

& list goes on.

and bear in mind..usually coaches & manager who's the one dealing with transfers so that he know the player can fit the team style or not.
our case is a bit special & i'm pretty sure it's not uncle carlo decision to bring torres previously.

and why is he still in our starting xi when clearly he can't contribute much? i prefer we give the opportunity to others. dannyboy yet to start in any game iinm. let him prove himself. gv him the same amount of chances as what been given to torres.
*
i bet that i don't knw anything coz i;m not on the training ground everyday.
first team selection is not just abt ur performance.
it's also depends on attitude during training, discipline etc etc.. the criteria which the coach thinks is good for him.

We don't know. & to answer u..i'm pretty sure dannyboy style also not like drogba where u can feed those highballs.

i wont retract my comments earlier..rotation is fine..but not for the sake of rotating je nak rotate2..maybe Yes it's the right time to rotate Torres? IDK.

you all mumbling about torres when the real culprit is mikel and lampard.

all those backpasses and sideway passes is making the fullbacks left nothing but to give long ball ahead of them.

i dont f***ing think mikel will be dropped. i really hate his way of playing. pardon for the rude language, but he ought to be dropped.

oh and, make some experiment of the team please instead of playing terry, mikel, lampard, torres for all the games.

bolded part: that is the main point.

i am 100% sure sturridge cannot play well when we feed him with high balls. the same with torres. lets forget about how good torres was while he is a liverpool player. the reality is in front of us. we ain't history channel right? either play him to his strength, or sell him.

these players are world class. they must have an area where they excel at. why barca did not feed messi with high balls? unless you got ronaldo up front which IMO, the nearly perfect attacking player at the moment.

with regards to lampard and mikel, to be honest, i wish mikel to stay and to change lampard with oscar. real problem is lampard because on paper, he is now clearly a DM (deep playmaker) which logically, should provide a better cover for our back four. but in reality, lampard's tendency to get forward is too much and when is upfront (lampard is running or jogging), mikel will be left alone battling with 3-4 attacking players. and obviously, he looks bad in this situation.

i don't mind we give dannyboy a chance. he deserved it. but we cannot change anything if we play the same as we got drogba in our team.

haha.
indeed, well said.
The problem still persist as Chelsea still play drogba power type attack.
I dun understand y they still failed to see so. doh.gif
They should have more direct and fast attacking passing to Torres.
I have the felling RDM is now on the loss of ideas and blinded by his degilness. doh.gif
*
The ‘drogba power type attack’ as you put it is actually fast becoming extinct in football, especially among the top teams in europe. Yes it does wonders when u actually have a fully fit and in his prime didier, but if you don’t you’ll struggle even against average teams who know how to organise their defence.

RDM has earned the right to be a bit ‘degil’ after winning the Big one, but if he still chooses to ignore our obvious problems I’m afraid he’ll soon discover how things can turn against you in a blink of an eye, especially when you’re the manager of CFC.
QUOTE(dynames07 @ Sep 17 2012, 07:15 PM)
the other thing i dont agree is with how we distribute the ball from cech.

de gea of man utd already start rolling the ball to evra. >> a confirmed possession since they no more got berba. rooney, persie and chica quite impossible to win aerial battle
joe hart of man city will only play high ball when dzeko is in. or when yaya toure become their 2nd striker. other time? gave to kalarov or kompany.
same with reina and szesny. although arsenal now got a stronger forward in giroud.

easy thing yet people blame torres. if want to play like drogba was here, sell him while he still got value. and buy other player that you wish.

berangan nak main sempoi, tapi still punt the ball like nobody bisnes.
*
True that. We’re terrified of keeping the ball..we really are. I think the last time we looked really comfortable in possession was under ancelotti in our double winning season. Ironically when the Italian was given the boot, he lacked the players with the ability to hold on to the ball after ballack and deco were released but now we HAVE talented players who can dribble and go forward..we’re just not using them sweat.gif

If studge gets a start vs juve I want to see how he deals with the countless long passes that are thrown about as well. But if for some reason the they decide to play it into his feet every chance they get, it’ll mean either he’s great in finding space between the lines or the squad are somehow reminded of drogba when torres is on the field! I do hope it’s the former. Having said that, we have to observe what he actually does when he has the ball, and whether any good comes of it. It’s all nice and neat finding space in between defenders but if you don’t have a huge impact in the attacking third, then it’ll all be mere eye candy. Eye candy which is needless if it doesn’t bring about goals.

I watched the Old Lady vs Genoa and they’re definitely beatable. Their back four is shocking at times and I feel this is where moses will come in handy with his crosses. Genoa just didn’t take their chances and got punished. In attack though giaccherini, marchisio and giovinco are the ones to look out for. Let’s see what Robbie has learnt so far. An overly defensive attitude will surely not go down well with the home crowd, unless we end up with 3 points at the final whistle.

are sticking to double pivot? and 4-2-3-1? to some extent i do agree that we play torres like we still have drogba in the team. then again isnt 4231 formation more suited long ball forward since its more defensive (play on the counter) OR may be our double pivot i.e. lamp and mikel should be changed? since lampsy has passed his glory days, make way to oreo or oscar perhaps?

i never really follow how oscar play. but i did watch him play last time when he was substitute in, during our match against athletico if not mistaken.

he got the pace, he got the stamina. i think he can even become our new box-to-box midfielder. when placed beside mikel, i think the double pivot can really be effective. IMO, the only problem with lampard in the double pivot is that he is damn slow to get back to his position when we lose the ball upfront.

from my point of view..oscar is like Modric type of player where he act as a connection between defenders and attacker to create an attacking chance..i watched oscar plays during olympics..he controlled the midfield, he's everywhere on the pitch..i would really like to see oscar n rami in double pivot..and hazard, marin and mata on the upfront...huhu..juz my 2 cents..

sad to see RDM dont rate sturridge...since RDM takeover frm AVB stu has lose his 1st spot place on the right wing...and pardon me but both torres and stu i think never really excel as a lone striker upfront.... they need striking partners....

with mikel, we can see a lot of backpasses.

mikel and lampard, MORE backpasses and slow build up to attack.

Too much attacking player if that happen. Chelsea midfielder already being overrun by Juve 5 man mifielder + 1 when Vucinic drop deep. Replacing a defensive midfielder with an attacking player which is surely not really well discipline in positioning will only make thing worse. I think Lampard and Mikel need to step up. Plus Oscar and Hazard too, the whole midfield should defend as a unit.

JT is so wrong to make that move coz he's quite close to the striker.
defence so mengantuk on both occasion.

Disgusted to see how the team decided to shut down after leading 2-0. Could've been a big day for Oscar but only took 1 point.
A draw is actually a fair result based on both teams performance, but we could've won it really.

Torres can't do anything, he's useless against those centrebacks. He's hiding behind the defender when the long ball comes? shame.

Disappoint that we throw away a 2 goal lead. on the other side, juve deserve the point. we are on 3 winless streak now. hopefully can end the streak against stoke this weekend.

actually i heard the commentator said the other way.

something like "usually managers will shut down after leading at this hour, but chelsea still with intention to attack bla bla bla" after mata inclusion.

Chelsea is not a team to survive but team to win every match.

Seems like they don't learnt from A. Madrid game.

Sloppy passes and lack of urgency.

i think it's time for RDM to use moses, sturridge and oscar more frequently. when we are 2-1 up, we should step up the tempo and kill off the game. RDM made a defensive change by bringing on bertrand for ramires. that was a dangerous tactical move to hold on one goal lead. we just inviting more pressure from juventus and don't forget, juventus is a very good team. anyway, oscar 2nd goal just now, that was pure class. i can see he will become a world class player. take a bow son. On a positive note, Juventus is a quality side. Great start for Oscar as well, very impressive. He proved me wrong that I said he needs more time to step into the first XI.

I think we gave Juventus too much of space in the second half, bringing in Bertrand instead of Moses is a bit wrong in my opinion. Sturridge is injured, so we could see why Torres played for the 90minutes. Honestly I won't be surprised if RDM drops Torres against Stoke this week. Torres is just sooo poor.
Personally I think our new 11 can play in the pivot, maybe in place of Lampard?

Agree with the moses part. He is a powerhouse. Hes like valencia and torres will score some goals with his help. I think playing both torres and sturridge upfront is a good idea too, i dont see how torres can play as a single striker upfront right now.
Agree with the defensive change as well. Its an annoying move but i guess the coach has his own reasons i dunno lol.

2-2 is fair result i would say, hope next game i will see MIKEL and TORRES on the bench. Reason,

MIKEL, make a sloppy pass that cause the 2nd goal, but that is ok, is 90min games a miss place pass is normal, but heck after making the error he stand still on the pitch again vmad.gif which he then fail to press the player infront of him that make the through ball for their equaliser (i would not blame TERRY for the miss offside trap he try to pull, is something normally a defender will do but sometimes u get it, sometimes u dont). I think MIKEL is not committed enough to play for the team, beside CECH, he is the player that did the less effort in a match, just covering here covering there, while our past DM, MAKELELE and ESSIEN is pressing all over the pitch for 90min. Again i will say he does not offer enough as a DM for a top team. Would love to see RAMIRES or ROMEU for a change.

TORRES, i dunno, you can see he is trying but is not working. Last time people say no service, now got OSCAR, HAZARD, MATA people still say same thing no service doh.gif . Is more like his own position on the pitch is the problem, he did not position himself to be a threat, heck every time he play, it seem like we are playing without striker. Time to give STURRIDGE the start, i dont think he can do any worse than TORRES.

Disappointing performance by Torres and Mikel. Both of them need to be spank. Romeu and sturridge can take their place anytime.
Lampard look better in deep position.

biasalah kalau dah tak suka tu nak buat mcmana..semua benda buruk nampak

to be FAIR. MANY TIMES ON MANY OCCASSIONS..lots of CFC PLAYERS DID CONCEDE THE BALL & DIDNT CHASE BACK during vs Juventus.

just becoz that it leads to goal conceded "whoah u beri the stupidest.."

team no discipline at all. yes it's mikel's fault.

hazard oso responsible not to close back (defensive duty) << remember J Cole pernah kena marah w Mourinho coz of this after scoring winning goal.

JT oso many times sloppy

Luiz gave up lots of possession too (but i think he's quite good defensively...so takpe can kawtim)

and the list goes on and on.

Mata masuk only can see quick 1-2 linkup.

just 2 sen saya saja laa

& credits too juventus (italian champion) la. they oso fought hard. u think easily ja kaa they got 2 goals. fair result i'd say.

LOL wth rclxub.gif TERRY try to block the shot but it go thru his leg, is his fault, he try to play offside trap, is his fault but at least both of it he show effort to defend. But MIKEL gave the ball away and then farking standing there mad.gif and then continue did not press the guy infront of him that play the assist vmad.gif Player makes mistake we know, but he totally show no effort. If there is award i will vote him as the laziest player on the pitch, i have never seen a DM that "walk" so much on the pitch laugh.gif

I agree wif ya. I can accept he misplaced the pass, but the minute he kicked the ball, he's just farking standing still over there and watch. The opponent pass the ball back, then pass to the one that assist quagriella he still standing at the very same spot.

You cannot call that mistake!!

I am seeing most of the people are blaming Mikel. But if you look at a bigger picture, he was actually not bad last night. Can't really blame everything on him for the second goal, but surely he has some responsible on it.
Lampard is just shocking, he should stop running away from his position, it left Mikel the only player at the back in the midfield and all the pressure goes to Mikel. I think Lampard should be the player to be dropped instead of Mikel.

I know it might sounds harsh, but after watching the highlights again, I think Lampard is just pissed poor.

I saw a few ppl criticizing Frank Lampard. Well I guess his recent un-Lampard like performance was due to his un-natural position. He operates best as a CM. Not as a CDM... Ramires should play as defensive midfield along Mikel... Lampard where he belongs!

Makelele is magnificent player. He's the reason why our 433 works so well under him, as Mourinho said:

QUOTE
‘Look, if I have a triangle in midfield – Claude Makelele behind and two others just in front – I will always have an advantage against a pure 4-4-2 where the central midfielders are side by side. That’s because I will always have an extra man. It starts with Makelele, who is between the lines. If nobody comes to him he can see the whole pitch and has time. If he gets closed down it means one of the two other central midfielders is open. If they are closed down and the other team’s wingers come inside to help, it means there is space now for us on the flank, either for our own wingers or for our full-backs. There is nothing a pure 4-4-2 can do to stop things’.

More about Makelele role here http://www.uefa.com/trainingground/coaches...lay=true#latest

I don't think Ramires is strong enough to play in this role, Ramires said because he is weak in physical, so he don't use man marking to tackle or defend, instead, he uses his agility to intercepts passes. In my opinion, Ramires best position would be in the midfield of 433, but as a CM,not DM.

Makelele is magnificent player. He's the reason why our 433 works so well under him, as Mourinho said:

God, thanks for sharing MK4 vid.

He truly is a great DM, greatest DM in my eyes man.

So passionate, small2 body like that but owning the field like a boss.

How I wish Mikel to be like him someday...

ROMAN IZ ANGRY!

Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich addressed his players yesterday after they allowed Champions League opponents Juventus to draw 2-2 on Wednesday night.
The Daily Mail says Abramovich arrived unannounced at Cobham in the morning.

He spoke with players, coaches and manager Roberto Di Matteo on the training field to ask why the European champions could not hold on to a lead against the Italians on Wednesday after Oscar had scored twice in the first half.

Overall I think we lacked commitment for the total duration of 90 mins, vs juve. Our goals were down to individual brilliance from Oscar, nothing else. I’m quite annoyed with the lack of pressing from us, especially after watching real and city go head to head, with both teams pressuring each other like crazy in both halves of the pitch. When we tried to close down juve’s players I feel we did it somewhat half heartedly, oft-times it was them who managed to pressure us into an aimless clearance from our back four and cech. Admittedly, it doesn’t take much effort for them to do so.

Mikel was very poor with his distribution and that final giveaway was punished instantly by juve. Lampsy made a carbon copy mistake closer to goal earlier, but wasn’t capitalized on by marchisio. However I think terry was too hasty in trying to play the offside trap and our midfield was also in dreamland prior to the killer pass for their striker. Ashley did well, but iva couldn’t support that right flank. I think rami strayed more to the middle this time, but again when he’s out on the right he looks lost. Vidal’s goal shouldn’t have went in, he was hobbling for God’s sake. This highlights the lack of commitment I mentioned earlier.

RDM didn’t help our cause by bringing in Bertrand at the 70th minute mark. Made no sense to me at all that one, trying to defend for 20 mins against the best side in serie A. Last but not least I was disappointed with nando. Although there wasn’t much service, I wasn’t impressed with how he didn’t really hassle their defenders and just be a general nuisance in their penalty box. He wasn’t really fighting for the ball, compared to late last season when he closed down opposition players into hurried clearances / mistakes, etc. Could use some work on his positioning as well, although he was open when mata got through and shot into the side netting. Clearly needs to show more aggressiveness in his game. If studge was fit, I’m pretty sure he would’ve been given a go.

i agree with u Kerplunk...its like there are no sign of urgency within the team members..is it because of RDM isolated Malouda to youth team..i mean there is something going on in the backroom..and again i would love to see our midfield supply more ball to Torres and RDM also need to workout on Torres positioning during training..both need to be improved..plus the defenders..haiz..i can get a heart attack each time i watched chelsea play..huhu

TBH RDM is not an experience manager. only 163 match.

Anyway, got to agree with you every1 is playing at a slow pace except the new boys and the mata.
Mikel look to relax as if there were no contender in his DM position. hope RDM use Romeu instead of warm the bench.
Torres is going to look bad on him as his effort on the field is getting terrible.

Anyway hope to see Hazard-Oscar-Mata play together. laugh.gif

when mata side netting, u can see torres got acre of spaces.

which means the inclusion of mata + hazard combo is extremely important as they might drag away defenders from torres too.

like his goal vs newcastle

Makelele is impressive. Super defender all over the place. Would like to see Dante from Bayern Munich. CB but with decent pace, pin point passes and strength.

Where can I get a Chelsea 12/13 Home jersey? My first, can be UCL or regular season..

Somany dm out there to buy. Polanski got great passing. Oh but he not box to box. So nope.
Lucas leiva? Im sure you guys wouldnt want him. Gokhan inler? His name sound quality, yes he is a great passer but too bad he aint a hard takler not good with getting the ball so nope. How about khedeira? I think he runs alot you guys will like him but he at rm but with arrival of essien at rm its a good time to buy him. But his wage demand and rm will not sell for cheap. Alonso would be great but he will just ignore chelsea. Go for de jong ok but you guys wont like him too i think.

Well most of our player were never being given much chance to plays.
lately there were quite a few ex-blues were doing very well. something must be wrong with our policies there. biggrin.gif

thats because of the "changing manager every season" policies that contribute to this problem.

If you ask me, Modric is the best fit, but you know what happened.
I watched Sahin last time and he was pretty impressive at that age. How did he fare so far in Liverpool? Still haven't got a look on him.

I agree we shouldn't keep splashing money on those players. We actually have lot of future. Josh is a fantastic asset, but maybe he still need more experience. I watched him in Swansea last season, but due to his lack of experience, he just ran up and down like a headless chicken. I try not to mention 'he-is-not-ready-for-first-XI' thing, but, just couldn't resist laugh.gif Hopefully he can prove I am wrong just like Oscar did.

The DM players are already an endangered species in football nowadays, especially in EPL. The best I can think now is Yaya Toure.
I don't fancy Moutinho at all, I think he's just a bit overrated, unless he come at a budget price.
I agree we should try Luiz in DM position/ the double pivot. I think he suits but just need to improve a little bit on his positional sense.

i'm itching for studge and moses as well. even if only one of them gets a start, i'll be happy with that! stoke are a physical team, so i think the best way to combat that is a combination of speed and strength. considering we're a bit light upfront, i know some are hoping for falcao in january but imo the smart thing to do would be triggering demba ba's ridiculous 7m pound release clause at newcastle. a different player to nando and studge, he'd be ideal for us. i have a sneaky feeling clubs will be clamouring for his signature in the january window if the magpies don't sort out his contract issues fast. forget about atletico's star man, don't think they'll entertain any bids for him.

it's matchday guys. stoke city is a difficult side to play against. well-organized at the back, compact in midfield area and a very physical team as well. i don't see much goals in this. maybe 1-0 or 2-1 win for us. come on you blues...

Team: Cech ©; Ivan, D Luiz, Cahill, Cole; Ram, Mik; Mata, Oscar, Hazard; Torres. - subs: Turn, Azpili, JT, Bert, Rom, Lamps, Moses.

Great team. Think Ramires and Oscar will be interswitching their place with Mata filling into their position. Hazard can switch places with Mata too.
Lot of interchanging play will occur today.
3 points is a must today, no excuse.

Pretty performance by us. Just the goals are lacking. We need to start stretching the play and create more chances from the flanks.

I love that Oscar lad, fantastic player. Everyone saw his playstation-esque skill? I can't even do it with my controller!

3 points. job done. Not the best performance but I myself couldn't find any fault in our players today. Every players gave out their best tonight, I am very pleased with the performance.

Stoke did their defensive work very very well there, well on par on what we did against Barca. And managed to get a goal against team like that, is also an achievement.

3 point and it enough. It hard to play with team who set up 8 players behind the ball entire game. As we did against Barca, now others team did it against us. So I think, it great result. I like the lineup. Should used this line up regularly after this.

faster game with no mikel-lampard combo.
ramires was fundamental in midfield, breaking opponent attacks.

actually mikel-ramires is more better. he did cover CB position in few occasion when luiz going up.
lampard wont drop that deep if he is playing.

see, Mikel can avoid from being clumsy if when quick decision making taking place in him.

game like this are most difficult and crucial, thank god they managed to bag 3 pts.

credit goes to Mata, Cahill, Ramires, Luiz and Moses for did a decent job today.

good game, good pressure, good team work, stoke is a really hard team, 3points is really a good result. However, it seem like we play more alike barca with no flank, penetrating from mid? sometime it is very difficult to get result against team like stoke.

yeah. thats why. since he involved in war of words with rhicebowl i noticed he got more agressive in his posts. or perhaps we're all noobs that needs to be corrected? tongue.gif no offence just kidding!

by the way, i like how RDM gambled his tactical today. he did just that what I wanted! no more mikel, lamps combo. when lamps coming in, i thought oscar or mata will be subbed but mikel! holy kenoly, that is very brave of him.

not that I don't want lamps play, i dont want MIKEL! but lamps cameo appearance every now and then is more suitable for him.

i like the way we play today just that, defensively we could do better, and torres MUST do better. oscar got more tries than him.
and from the look of our team, i can really see that our team hasn't bonded yet.

sometimes when hazard/mata/oscar is on the ball, you can see clearly the players hesitated or look confused whether to run for a through ball or not. i believe over time, we will have mutual understanding of the players gameplay and will smoothen our attacking play. rclxms.gif

im really happy!

Btw, love to see Oscar slotting in first eleven right now. If this line up stay for a few games, I think slowly we can start build sexy football. Just need a bit time. RDM not so " DEGIL" TONITE, HAHAHA

well, everybody's love Rhicebowl..who doesn't? kohkoh

Oscar first touch is sublime, no wonder Mikel said the 2nd goal against Juve wasn't a fluke since Oscar did that plenty times during training..

Mata has shown why he's Chelsea best player last season, superb ball control. should Torres & Moses being more clinical and quick, he might have hat trick of assist.

i say keep going on with this kind of team for couple of matches and see how it goes.

if sturridge is fit, i would like to see him leading our attack. with moses starting on the right then change with hazard.

but whoa, moses punya run and body strength is awesome yo

Hik hik hik. I was expecting chelsea to cut open stoke but stoke defence is as solid as always. Nzogzi watever his name is serving his purpose man. Strong with the ball and become the anchorman. And that lamps playing as a dm is a waste but i guess rdm got no choice because currently only mikel available for that position.

And moses proven to be a monster. He always looked dangerous with his surging run.

Well MIKEL is really bad at JUV game, but today he work hard, no so complain here, but RAMIRES out shown him today, he help us win back so many ball, either with intercept, or pressure on opponent to make them do hasty pass and not to forget he racing back twice to do a back tackle to stop possible counter (which could have been a yellow), if opponent run pass MIKEL, u wont see him do that, that could be he dont have the pace like RAMIRES but as long as he try chase back to cover i am fine. A.MADRID game, he did not even bother to run back, he start walking and give up.

After seeing MIKEL + RAMIRES combo today, i dont mind to see LAMPARD + RAMIRES combo too. Really surprise by RDM sub today, i thought he gonna take out OSCAR for LAMPARD but he decided to go for the win and take out MIKEL for more firepower thumbup.gif

I think he meant you are always bashing other people opinions without using healthy argumentative approach. You previous post saying next week tukar tukar what player also one of them i guess. Instead of bashing peoples idea with a one liner maybe it is healthier to put in an arguements with football approach. People cant reply to your way of posts without making it unhealthy to the threads. One by one of such posts adds up eventually someone will sound you. Hehe

Chelsea Football Club is delighted to announce David Luiz has today (Saturday) signed a new five-year contract.

The Brazilian international committed his future to Chelsea shortly after playing in Saturday afternoon's 1-0 win over Stoke, and will extend a career at the club that began in January 2011.

'I am very happy to sign a new contract with Chelsea,' said David Luiz.

'It is a great club and I look forward to winning more trophies here. I want to play for a long time at the top level - which is what playing for Chelsea means. I love everything about the club and especially the fans, who have made me very welcome and given me great support.'

The defender has started 55 games with four further substitute appearances. He has scored five goals.

His first full season at the club ended in glory in Munich. He overcame a hamstring injury suffered in the FA Cup semi-final (which forced him to miss the final) to play in the Champions League Final and smashed home a penalty in the decisive shoot-out.

This season the 25-year-old has started all but one game and was recently captain of Brazil in two internationals.

Mata still our main creative player. He settled already since last season.

Hopefully in capital one cup. We get to see players like Marin, Moses, Romeu, Sturridge/Piazon, Azpilicueta start.

Ivanovic kena bully this match I think, get fouled and tackled so much.

it always worried me that we always/could be lepas (conceded) goal in last 5 mins or so after on the victory road BUT yesterday we are defending well and not giving silly goal to opponent, great job indeed thumbup.gif

anyway we need to tidy up those link up on mid and sharpen our attacking, cannot afford to miss chance ... as usual torres still not at his best don't know when he will back to his old day hmm.gif nevertheless happy with 3 points in the bag and not forgetting this oscar lad had playing well yesterday and looking good with creative movement and hope he will continue doing so biggrin.gif

cheers.

When i saw the line up, i message my friend who is also a chelsea fan. "This gonna be good" , didnt expect to see an 85 min goal by a leftback.

Even stoke subtitution said it all, they think they can get something out of the match. Really was a hard match against a determined team. Like how chelsea play against barca.

End of it all, my friend reminded me stoke did get a draw against city last week. That really put things into perspective. To win a hard match is very satisfying.

KTBFFH.

P.S cut it with the nonsense. Move it to pm if u want to start dating each other. tongue.gif joking.

1. The valuable 3 points!

2. Who said Ramires cant play with Mikel?
Superb performance from him with his tireless run and tackling to protect the back four.

3. DAMN! I want to see Moses more. He's too good to be on the bench.

Just watched the highlights (Yes, i bangga). We got what we expected from Mata, Hazard and Oscar in the team, a lot of creativity attacking. Just not enough goals created to show it. Stoke's defense were solid, i feel that RDM should have gone for slightly less creativity and more firepower (i.e Moses) against Stoke. But i'm glad to see RDM making changes, hope it's a step forward from here.

yeap... the difference between padolski and RVP are well shared by other new signings. they hardly missed him now.

but they will not even close of giving a shot.

John Terry says he has retired from England duty as the FA have made his position "untenable".

"untenable". Not able to be maintained or defended against attack or objection: "this argument is clearly untenable".
