Yo! They are very different. X3 doesn't sound like the MK2. It doesn't deliver as much bass. However it is significantly smaller than the MK2 and would free up a lot of desk space.

Thanks, do you have a how showroom where I can test them both? brows.gif

Also, in the mid range department, which is better? I'm looking for balanced sound signature, warm is OK, as I'll be using for music smile.gif

We are revamping our new office to have a retail show room of all the audio products that we carry. Until then, we would ask that you visit our partner Heavy Arm at Subang to audition. Now we are going to introduce a new review campaign. If you want to take home to test the speaker, we can arrange for that.

Based on your brief description, you are probably looking at the D1080-IV or M200MK2. One at RM 500+ one at RM 800+. The D1080-IV uses MK3's driver and has a flare port. It delivers a lot more bass than anything else within the price range. But it has upfront mids and more direct in your face sound signature. The MK2 is more laid back. D1080 may be warmer than the MK2

Thanks. Is the M200 Mk 2 suitable for a nearfield/desktop/computer environment? I mean I'll put it on my computer table and I hope my table doesn't shake due to the bass lol. My table width is 31 inches hmm.gif

I want to ask if m200 mk2 suitable for long range listening. Like you put it in the living room. Around 2 3 m from the speaker.

Is there price list for all hivi swans speaker?

MK2 is a nearfield speaker. So is the X3, and X4. You may also find info below useful to you.

Depending on the living room size and how loud you play your music, you may need the mk3. The complaint people had with the mk2 is that they bought the speaker and used it in the living room, they didn't get the desired output. That's how the mk3 was born. The mk3 has double the output of the mk2.

Below you may find review from 6moon on the mk3
http://www.6moons.com/audioreviews/swans2/1.html

We always encourage customers to get the mk3 for living room and mk2 for desk use. At the stock crossover settings you will find the mk3 having way too much bass. You also can't turn the volume up beyond maybe 20%. But if you are ok with playing with the crossover, the mk3 can be used on the desk as well.

Just got the Mark 2 biggrin.gif It's for my small room.

Any advise on positioning? Do I have to leave like 1 feet gap behind to the wall?

Also, do I need speaker stands for this ? As now, I just place the speakers on a stool and on top of some books to increase the height hmm.gif

You may want to leave it somewhere to burn in for a month before listening to it. The speaker should be tall enough as is to position the tweeter at ear level. Unless you are really tall or have very good sitting posture!

If you find the speaker boomy at default crossover you can move it close to you, away from the wall.

Got my Swans D1080-iv today and holyshit the sound quality and the feels you get is damn super awesome.

And the staff working at cyntrixtech is amazingly attentive and provide tons of information and advice about the speaker helping me to choose between them. Super nice guy.
The staff at heavyarm is crazily good also he handle whole shop by himself and will help you with any problems you have. Matter of fact today there is some problems that if he didn't now solve it in time i might come back with another speaker and less satisfy with it.

Could not say enough good stuff about the cyntrix and heavy arm.

Customer service is definitely 5 start out of 5 star.

Swans Hivi has limited reviews online but i spend a solid 1 and a half hours there listening to them, every single one of them is very good at what it suppose to do and at that price range. It out performs most speaker priced higher than it.

D1080-iv specifically i can tell you it is wayyyy better compare to soundstick 3, logitech z623 and also the altec lancing c3. Way better. Try it yourself at heavyarm to understand how much i recommend it.

yup i did the only one i didnt is the m50 and the x4 i think. i can't afford so i don't wanna try but i still tried the mark ii because i don't have self control haha.

The sound is good but bass is not there compare to d1080 or m10 and i don't really have the budget nor i want to splash another few hundred for a sub.

2015 versions do not have any problems thus far. This is one of the reasons why we had a blackout period in 2014.

Yes it does. But it looks so much nicer without it. RM 599. Tentative price increase.
