Is there any way at all for me to transfer the SMS from my iPhone to my Lumia 920? Also can we get back the old Whatsapp chats?
*
SMS maybe can, but I cannot confirm.

Whatsapp most probably no. Because Whatsapp doesn't save your chat on their server, after the message reached your phone, it will be deleted from the server.

Asri-Al-Baker is a longtime Nokia user simce the Symbian days so I would trust his sources. That is great news that Malaysia will get the 920 at RM1999, it's an excellent and competitive price.

I think I may have persuaded one of my colleague to go with Lumia 920. he was thinking of iPhone 5 or the Galaxy Note II and I showed him the 920 and he really liked the screen.

Battery life is getting better. I'm on 10 hours since the last charge and I still have 30% battery life. I manually controlled the brightness to low instead of auto and that seems to save some juice.

skyline, how do we transfer the SMS?

I don't know, just saying "maybe" can.
If me I will try to backup from iphone to PC, then try in any way to sync back to the phone(lol what an useless advice);
Or try to sync to Google account? hmm.gif

Okay I admit that I don't know, try google yourself. sweat.gif

By the way 10 hours of usage left 30% is not that impressive. Kinda weak. sweat.gif

It's better than the past 2 days, let me tell you that heh heh heh .... yesterday (heavy usage), I was left with 30% after 6 hours of usage. The battery life is comparable with the iPhone 4s that I have which means that after 10 hours of usage, the battery will be at 30-25% and I will have to charge the phone at night ....

As long as the phone can last till 8PM (around 14 hours) I'm okay with it.

As for the SMS, I've gogled and can't find anything. That's why I asked in the forum to ask if anyone have ever tried. I suspect you can't do that. Ohh well.

My bad. If I can do that I wouldn't have said "maybe". sweat.gif Perhaps we'll have a solution soon.

How do you use your phone? Web browsing for a long time? Navigation? LTE network? hmm.gif

I mostly use my Lumia for Facebook (since my office blocks the site), websurfing, taking photos, whatsapp, email (since my office blocks any cloud email services). I have not tried navigation and I'm not using LTE (mostly 3G).

My heavy usage would be surfing, changing the settings, listening to music, whatsapping, emailing (basically I consider it heavy if I don't switch off the phone for 20-30 minutes straight ans sometimes more).

While working, I would consider my usage as light usage because ... I have a day job. I use the phone to make calls, to reply to whatsapp, check my email but I usually will turn off the screen and sometimes won't touch the phone for long periods of time (once an hour maybe) so that's my usualy usage.

Yesterday the phone lasted till 10PM so that's 16 hours which is not bad. I was in a theater and was bored so with 25% battery remaining, I started surfing the net using my 3G connection. I suspect the phone would probably last the whole night if I let it sit on my bedside table after 9PM.

Hopefully Digi will have a plan for 920 as well.. else will have to pay full price. Its high time to revise my Digi Smart Plan to a cheaper plan. I'm not using fully the 3GB allocated right now...

They are expecting it to be sometime around next month. Not sure when. They told me the MS office comes together with the phone for free. That's great. Is should be great coz I could have some of my doc in my lappy sync to my phone for easy viewing.
