QUOTE(aspire2oo6 @ Nov 12 2012, 07:31 AM) ok... i'll try that apps also. but probably the test will be delayed since today i got full class. just to confirm the steps, i restart my phone, then immediately use my friend's phone to send the message to lumia 920. QUOTE(PeeEl @ Nov 12 2012, 10:53 AM) somehow, i couldn't find tango on the store, probably not compatible with wp8QUOTE(bongah @ Nov 12 2012, 11:13 AM) the price for contract ones are varied. depending on the plan, you can get as cheap as free or as high as £240. but since here in UK lumia 920 is exclusive to EE/Orange/T-Mobile, the monthly payment is not cheap compared to other provider.i bought the off-contract one at Phones4u since somehow their system rejected my debit card as i suspected, they don't want to accept university residence as billing address. grabbed the phone for £460 and Orange PAYG sim, but over wpcentral, someone mentioned that he saw EE store sells lumia 920 off contract for £400 there goes my £60 which i can use to buy another Wii U games later |

QUOTE(bongah @ Nov 12 2012, 04:13 PM) uk stuff is overpriced due to 20% VAT do note that different place puts different pricing... like in US AT&T sells off contract for just $450 but bestbuy list as $599 Added on November 13, 2012, 3:23 amjust did the test on whatsapp, line & talkbox (wechat didn't send confirmation code to my friend's s3) although in a bit different way (turned off wifi/3g -> restart phone -> turn on wifi/3g -> send message from friend's phone) received notification of incoming message that last for about 8 seconds on top of the screen & some numbers indicating new unread message on the live tiles... i probably can test more tomorrow like receiving message while no active connection etc.... I'll probably do more test, but lately uni assignments are killing me Besides, this weekend my friend went jalan-jalan at London Hopefully azraeil will get his lumia 920 and do the test also |

QUOTE(azraeil @ Nov 17 2012, 08:04 PM) Most definitely. Only 8 more days before I get my hands on the Yellow Lumia 920. By the way kuroneko0509, what color is your 920? Mine is black since most of my electronic devices are black (except psp)... Probably better to skip Skype Preview, since that one is still buggy at the momentI'll test the Skype Preview, Whatsapp (I used these 2 a lot) and some of the apps. I'm so used to the iOS ecosystem so will be missing some of the important apps that I need. |

Yeah, currently 920 is top of the line for nokia smartphoneQUOTE(JJKTP @ Nov 20 2012, 12:19 AM) It would probably increase its weight and then the reviewers will whining bout its weight again |

QUOTE(chkhoo76 @ Nov 22 2012, 12:35 AM) Nah... never expect to last 1 week... that sentence just came on an impulse QUOTE(aspire2oo6 @ Nov 22 2012, 12:43 AM) Thats the point you dont get it . So as a new smartphone user are you working for your phone or the phone working for you? So it is a smartphone means the phone is smarter than you or you are smarter than the phone? Which is which? No... i understand what you're saying....... Why talk whole week when it cant last a day on heavy usage? What i mean is heavy usages that last a day. Not standby 6-7 hours 20minutes internet and 15mins navigation and 10 mins camera? then later claim wont die during the day? Then must turn off wifi turn off 3G use edge lower brightness, then must turn off auto sync then stupid wifi auto off. What my definition of smartphone is the phone working for ME to make my life easier being alittle smarter. My expectation is u push the phone to the limit like internet from 8am to 6pm the phone at extreme usage suppose to last at least from 8am to 6pm means 5-7 hours on internet. On moderate to heavy the phone will have no problem to last till 8am -11pm on that day. On screen time at least 5 hours and above. When its low to moderate you know how long the battery can last. Means the phone is working for you. the problem is, you keep on mentioning your beloved note II which have '3.1k mAh battery', 5.5" screen etc. to a level where somehow makes other phones which dun have that feature are useless... i admit, my usage is not that heavy..... but i never mention that i turn off all the feature in my phone... most of the time i turn both wifi & 3g since 4g lte still not in my area except when stupid orange block lyn since they failed to confirm my age and redeem that lyn forum is 18+ site, turn on the location, syncing 4 emails and play mp3 + loads of stuff and still manage to get back into my room with phone not in battery saver mode... tell me, how long is your note II last? using basic math can estimate that 920 should last less than note II by about 1/3 of it |
