Lumia 920 is going for SAR2499 here in Saudi (just pre-ordered a Yellow Lumia and should get it in 8 days or so) so that's USD666 or RM2050. The [hone is Factory Unlocked and Sim-Free (ordered it from the Nokia Store here).

I'll probably do more test, but lately uni assignments are killing me biggrin.gif
Besides, this weekend my friend went jalan-jalan at London
Hopefully azraeil will get his lumia 920 and do the test also smile.gif
*
Most definitely. Only 8 more days before I get my hands on the Yellow Lumia 920. By the way kuroneko0509, what color is your 920?

I'll test the Skype Preview, Whatsapp (I used these 2 a lot) and some of the apps. I'm so used to the iOS ecosystem so will be missing some of the important apps that I need.

I'm in Saudi Arabia. It's supposed to be launched on the 25th but just got a call that it will only arrive (and apparently not that many quantities) on the 26th. 2 days to clear customs so that will make it 28th November.

I have to say, I've been participating in LYN for a while and it is quite something to get into my ignore list. In fact, this is the only person I have ever put on my ignore list ... ever. It's like talking to dumbest person ever ... it's just a waste of time.

Ignore list ... best invention ever.

at the moment whatsapp was removed temporarily from wp8... dunno why but im using it w/o problem atm
*
aisehhh .... I hope they put it back on soon because this is ONE of the most important apps for me. I can live without Instagram but not Whatsapp.

By the way, the version you are using is it for Mango or WP8? I could've sworn that the WP8 version is not out yet. Maybe they pull it because they want to release WP8 version?

Look, Nokia was moving a lot of their critical operations to Finland and the guy didn't want to relocate his family to Finland. It happens to a lot of people. There is nothing to be worried about. He also mentioned that he's not the only guy responsible for the Pureview and the remaining team members should be able to innovate

The sad thing is, he's the TS .... this is the first time I came across a TS that does nothing but bash the gadget that he is TS of... his level of trolling is quite awesome I must say.

Perhaps Nokia should start a "Guess Nokia Lumia 920's RRP" contest.
My entry will be RM2199

I'll take 2099 smile.gif

If that is the true price, then it is a good price. That's close to what I pay here in Saudi which is RM2030. But I don't have the Nokia Music Mix Radio here in Saudi which is a bummer .... ohh well, you can't have everything I guess

BTW, azraeil, you asses the Window Store using Saudi account/region? Or linking to Sg, just like what the 7.5 users doing?
*
You can change the store by just changing the region settings. So if you change to UK region, then the store will go to UK store etc etc, much easier as compared to the Apple ID where you need to change the ID to change stores. The Mix Radio did mention that it will REQUIRE location to be turned on and it uses the Sim Card information to determine if the phone is eleigible for the Mix Radio so I can't do much there. I suspect that's why the <ix radio is missing in my Lumia ... it's okay coz I have lots of songs from my iTunes Library as well but Nokia was selling this phone with the Mix Radio feature (the web ads I mean) but it's a small issue.

I see. If that so it makes us in Malaysia to have a easier time to purchase apps online smile.gif
*
Hold your horses on that one. I have not tested actually buying the apps from different stores yet. My account is linked to my Malaysian credit card so I have not tested if I can purchase anything from the US/UK stores yet because I have not purchased any apps (which is awesome by the way). I plan to by Bank Account Manager soon and if the apps is available in the Malaysian store, then I will buy it from there. At the moment, I have been downloading/installing free apps which is plenty already. Once I start buying games for the kids corner we'll see how it goes.

does the phone support usb otg as well?
*
Windows Phone 8 is said to support USB OTG meaning that supposedly you can just drag and drop fikes into the phone.

Added on December 1, 2012, 6:29 pmConfirmed that it supports USB on the Go. Just connect your Lumia 920 to your Windows PC and it will appear on Explorer and you should be able to drag & drop Documents/Music/Videos/Pictures/Ringtones into the Phone.

What you described there is USB Mass Storage although technically, Windows Phone 8 uses MTP protocol.

USB OTG= Plugging USB peripheral to the phone directly.

And to answer the original question, I don't think USB OTG was supported in WP8. I seldom using it on my N8 TBH, so thats not a problem for me, but I do understand others who may need that.
*
Ahhh my bad, yeah I had the N8 before and I remembered connecting a USB thumbdrive to watch a movie though it was not very practical with the MicroUSB-USB connection etc ... I hate dangling cables.

Wait, there is no whatsapp on window phone 8?

What about Line?
*
I was able to download Whatsapp from the US store. Have been using it without any issues. The notifications works as its supposed too but sometimes there is a delay (such as I received notifications that I received a whatsapp message but when I go into the Chat session) it does not appear. It seems that sometimes you need to back out into the main Chat window (where all the chat sessions are listed) and once the new message appears, you can then go back in and see it.

Asri-Al-Baker is a longtime Nokia user simce the Symbian days so I would trust his sources. That is great news that Malaysia will get the 920 at RM1999, it's an excellent and competitive price.

I think I may have persuaded one of my colleague to go with Lumia 920. he was thinking of iPhone 5 or the Galaxy Note II and I showed him the 920 and he really liked the screen.

Battery life is getting better. I'm on 10 hours since the last charge and I still have 30% battery life. I manually controlled the brightness to low instead of auto and that seems to save some juice.

skyline, how do we transfer the SMS?

I don't know, just saying "maybe" can.
If me I will try to backup from iphone to PC, then try in any way to sync back to the phone(lol what an useless advice);
Or try to sync to Google account?  hmm.gif

Okay I admit that I don't know, try google yourself. sweat.gif
By the way 10 hours of usage left 30% is not that impressive. Kinda weak.  sweat.gif
*
It's better than the past 2 days, let me tell you that heh heh heh .... yesterday (heavy usage), I was left with 30% after 6 hours of usage. The battery life is comparable with the iPhone 4s that I have which means that after 10 hours of usage, the battery will be at 30-25% and I will have to charge the phone at night ....

As long as the phone can last till 8PM (around 14 hours) I'm okay with it.

As for the SMS, I've gogled and can't find anything. That's why I asked in the forum to ask if anyone have ever tried. I suspect you can't do that. Ohh well.
