QUOTE(davidke20 @ Sep 6 2012, 10:58 AM) A side note from previous midnight run with lhwj. Luke cleverly assumed the vacuum reading as KM/L, on an average bassis driving consistently at 15in/hg can actually represent 15km/l on an averaging bassis. The previous MRR2 midnight runs yielded Luke 20.5km/l, whereas I managed to clocked 16km/l kinda phenomenon FC on a BLM SE. Credit goes to Luke & his lovely BLM SE QUOTE(mengsuan @ Sep 6 2012, 12:30 PM) On new EFI engine, fuel supply is cut on downhill. It doesn't burn lean, there's just simply nothing to burn. The combustion chamber temperature should not rise excessively just because of downhill high vacuum reading. That's exactly what I told YAB when I was having TT with His Highness once For carburettor engine, the lean burn may occur. Disengaging the gear on EFI engine will cause fuel to be injected again during downhill, wasting some fuel. To all OCT watcher, sorry I cqnt make much post and quote since I'm on GPRS. Farkin sloe.
I'm using regular fuel filter, INLET on BOTTOM as ZEONE proposed. The ORIGINAL suggested way of usage as suggested by ZEONE is CORRECT if its use for fuel filtration. Fuel will be pouring in from bottom to top, petrol filled up entire tank and gets suck out via cylinder paper filter from the TOP hose. This way, fluid will have bigger buffer from the outside, not so easy get congested. 4G13 owner can run their dirty filter for 10ths of years without trouble. I purposely TERBALIK pasang, bcoz I was the dirty air/oil goes in from TOP. So the filtered oil can catched at the bottom. The bottom hose is not right at the most bottom part, so intake will only take in AIR(unless you taking hard corner to the extend oil got rush to the outlet then I'm really speechless). Reason for not following traditional way is bcoz the cylinder paper filter is closer to the bottom than the hose. If oil came in, start to flood the filter, the TOP hose will start to suck the filter instead. Either way is right/wrong. Its just preference. Zeone's way tahan lama sikit the filter, the fact is sucking more oil in then my way. My way taking air more than oil, but you'll have to monitor your oil level regularly. That's about it. I will try to meetup with 911 again, hope he can snap some photo and help me do a write up in Bahasa for the benefit of our Malay friends. Gotta go. Busy with work. |

QUOTE(lhwj @ Sep 6 2012, 01:34 PM) Actually that's what YOU said, not me Did I told you? Then I must have confused, somebody teach me that during midnight run That's exactly what I told YAB when I was having TT with His Highness once 19 hg/in idling? I'm jeles. Me only get 17 at the most If the fuel being totally cut off, hmm? wouldn't that result in a huge jerk when you step on the gas pedal again? Have you try push start? When somebody pushing your car(nothing goes in combustian chamber), you engage gear and let the chamber take pressure from the wheels, step on petrol to pour fuel in, let the huge combustian self ignite the A/F mixture then your jerk until vomit inside the car. Anyways, those are theory. Correct me if I'm wrong. May be somehow EFI did managed to soled the no fuel go in but engine done die issue |

QUOTE(davidke20 @ Sep 6 2012, 01:53 PM) Did I told you? Then I must have confused, somebody teach me that during midnight run Actually IINM the owner's manual doesn't recommend that we try push starting the Gaga If the fuel being totally cut off, hmm? wouldn't that result in a huge jerk when you step on the gas pedal again? Have you try push start? When somebody pushing your car(nothing goes in combustian chamber), you engage gear and let the chamber take pressure from the wheels, step on petrol to pour fuel in, let the huge combustian self ignite the A/F mixture then your jerk until vomit inside the car. Anyways, those are theory. Correct me if I'm wrong. May be somehow EFI did managed to soled the no fuel go in but engine done die issue I live on a hill here and there's quite a long stretch downhill whenever I leave my house. I just coast downhill in 4th gear at about 50 km/h. If I step on the throttle while coasting I can notice the engine kick back to life, so that's why I believe our Gaga has the fuel cut off while coasting in gear Anyway Datuk Dares can try out with his new OBBBBBDDDD IIIIIIIII reader and see if the fuel flow rate goes to 0 whenever he coasts downhill, cos CVT got engine breaking rite. That should put the matter to rest. Added on September 6, 2012, 2:05 pm QUOTE(iskazulka @ Sep 6 2012, 12:38 PM) Hantu mana ada berat This post has been edited by lhwj: Sep 6 2012, 02:05 PM |
