Just do factory/hard reset if you want to wipe clean your phone..then only you flash the official one.
Make sure you fo backup first before hard reset and flashing.

P.S - If using OTA..you must be on stock rom and kernel first.

When u connect your phone to pc via usb does it show as a drive? I'm using win 7 but I can't see my computer appear as a new drive. But I managed to transfer via kies. Is this normal?

in my experience, it's because of weather widget set to update interval of 1 hour. it will keep trying to update even though no wifi/3G available or even when device is idle

download anytag nfc launcher
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?...g.android&hl=en

turn on nfc, start the app, try ur touch and go card.

Eg of card that i tried working with s3 nfc

IC
arcade card
touch n go
student id for uni
hotel keycard

if your nfc works, there shud be a beep and a pop up showing some codes.

shud takes 1-3days in service center, make sure make yourself a full backup as samsung center surely will format and flash stock rom to test.

yes.. u need to install samsung kies and connect at ur pc via usb .. at basic information kies click "backup data from non-samsung device"

if u mean using s3 to scan touch n go card without placing a tngo card on a smart tag device = yes

Nfc cant read the balance of tngo as of now. i think soon it will be able to do so.
