QUOTE(- JaY - @ Sep 18 2012, 05:18 AM) Wouldn't a better way be thru software. When you dock the phone to the car dock the software inside will configure all the above for you. And when you release from the car dock, It will return the Settings back to normal. Phones can detect car docks right? This post has been edited by ramz: Sep 18 2012, 06:49 AM |

I've read most of S3 users have the battery issue draining so fast. So I would like to share what I did for my S3. So far, my battery life has increased and I am very satisfied with it.
FYI, I never set my brightness as "Auto" because I found that the display will be too dark/dull. So my setting is like half or even more. Between 3/4 of the brightness level. Moreover, I also using Go Launcher/Go locker(Animation) theme that always running in background. (May consume the battery life power as well). What I did for my s3: 1) Turn on battery power saving in settings (For me, I enable all of the options except "CPU power saving". FYI, I am a heavy user and I don't like my phone lack of performance. Disable this option will limit the maximum CPU speed so I don't prefer this (Personal opinion). 2) When you're running so many processes at once, you're bound to drain the power fairly quickly. I found that IM softwares such as Yahoo messenger/MSN/Steam will consume battery life so much even U didn't open these apps. (These apps will always running in background). So I have uninstalled it. (depends on u. If u are using these apps frequently. Just using Whatsapp is enough for me). 3) So basically I agreed that stock/default ROM would have this issue so I rooted and flashed my phone. N currently I'm using latest version of Omega (Omega v13.1). A very recommended custom ROM for heavy user like me. 4) Install "JuiceDefender" apps. (Must Have). A really effective apps that could save the battery life. Required Root Access 5) Turn off Auto Sync 6) Turn off Bluetooth Goodluck This post has been edited by unrealmind: Sep 18 2012, 07:59 AM |

Need some advice,
Somehow my SamsungApps does not work properly. Only noticed it yesterday. Symptom is go to Samsung Apps. See the profile icon at the top right has a exclamation mark. Tap on the profile icon (My Page) Tap on Downloads - see "Waiting..." - then "Processing failed" flashed at bottom - see "Waiting..." forever Then after an hour, somehow got a push notification of "Samsung Account Update" and it was updated automatically. Then I retry. Tap on the profile icon (My Page) Tap on Downloads - see "Waiting..." - then "Invalid email address(USR_3113)" flashed at bottom - see "Waiting..." forever FYI - I checked the menu->settings->account settings If i key in wrong password, it will fail With correct password it is ok So there should be any password issues causing this I think If I do a remove Samsung Account, what data exactly would be lost? Coz the pop dialog box said Removing the account will delete of of its messages, contacts and other data from device. Continue? =>I am thinking this could be a solution since maybe there is something wrong with the account profile saved in my device. FYI, all of my contact information is stored in the Google, not Samsung Account. But I do have quite a lot of apps from Samsung Apps (some are the free promotion ones, but which are no longer free now) Help/advice needed... Attached thumbnail(s) |

So far, my battery life has increased and I am very satisfied with it. Hmm... i dont get it.. i dont get as good battery life as most of you guys. is it because everything stock ? Maybe other kernels better? mine can roughly last 8 hours. include some FB some LINE some surfing. All on 3G. Bluetooth n wifi OFF. Auto sync but i make the interval longer if i can..eg emails.. got 2 emails, 1 gmail, LINE, Whatsapp. Power saving on for all exept no haptic feedback, i leave that on. Brightness maybe 40% only. Any ideas ? My screen on time about 2 hours..sometimes less in the 8 hours before low batt. FYI, I never set my brightness as "Auto" because I found that the display will be too dark/dull. Hi,
Is it possible to disable the screen capture function on the Samsung Galaxy S3. I do not like the flip cover so I am using the S3 with just a screen protector and it goes into my front pants pocket and I find a lot of screen capture when ever I take my phone out. I do not have this problem if I use the Flip Cover but the flip cover is not very Camera friendly. jackdon |

u can disable the 2 lights on the touch buttons (menu and back buttons). that will safe some battery. coz i know where those buttons are and don't need to be guided.
