QUOTE(j0n8 @ Sep 2 2012, 05:01 PM) hi there welcome to the family! just want to ask which antivirus is the most suitable for S3. i have review to antivirus that is avast! Mobile Security and Lookup Mobile Security. this two antivirus look really promising and now i dont know which one two choose also. is it crucial to install antivirus on our device ? btw i been using S3 for 2 weeks already. Reporting new User S3 White colour 32G Thank you Personally, I have used antivirus before but i find that it is useless for me as it comsumes a bit of battery. Although i don't think it's necessary, it's no harm to get antivirus anyhow if you're very paranoid. If you choose not to use antivirus like me, just make sure you know what you're installing on your phone and you'll be fine "Better safe than sorry" This post has been edited by YouDontKnowMyName: Sep 2 2012, 05:03 PM |

Hey guys, I just had a very strange problem with my S3 today.
For some reason, the battery was going down really really fast even though I wasn't even using it. I checked the apps that were running, but there was nothing that was running. Even in the battery stats, nothing seemed out of the ordinary. I left for school at 6am and left my phone in my room fully charged at 100%. Then around 2.30pm i came home and my phone was left with 28%. I checked the battery stats at this point but nothing seemed weird. I rebooted the phone but the battery was still draining at a rate of 1% every 4 minutes. I'm very sure that I did not leave mobile data, bluetooth, NFC, or wifi on while i was away. I'm also very sure that i did not leave any apps running in the background. ![]() After getting worried, I decided to turn the phone off and reinsert the battery. This seemed to solve the problem. This has never happened to me before. I was just wondering if anyone had experienced this before or has any idea what went wrong This post has been edited by YouDontKnowMyName: Sep 3 2012, 05:17 PM |

QUOTE(Moogle Stiltzkin @ Sep 3 2012, 05:21 PM) good tips. use betterbatterystats to find out whats happening. It's free to download on XDA (XDA members edition) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1179809 charge your phone to 99, then unplug it from the usb. then don't touch your phone. just leave it be for 4-8 hours. Then come back turn on phone and immediately check the betterbatterystats and see what it shows since unplugged in terms of - wakelocks - partial wake locks - cpu state (how long was the deep sleep duration ? and was there lots of cpu usage going on or not ?) QUOTE(farscope @ Sep 3 2012, 05:23 PM) definitely some app is hogging cz it resolved after restart. means sth is hogging. just need to find out which 1 Restart didn't solve the problem. I had to reinsert the battery to fix the problem.u need to ask in the specific thread in xda.. nobody can help u here cz we are not the dev nor the user. wrong place bro.. I just thought posting here to see if anyone knew would be alright since most of you are experienced android users Will try betterbatterystats. thanks! |

QUOTE(Naraw @ Sep 6 2012, 11:16 PM) Guys.. i encountered a problem with my s3 just now. It was charging normally when all of a sudden it kept on disconnecting from the charger n reconnect back. This happened a lot! I tried turning it off n charge it but it switches on by itself immediately after i turn it off. Any ideas? in my experience, this only happens if i'm using 3rd party cable |

QUOTE(C-Fu @ Sep 8 2012, 02:26 PM) Whatsapp is down (finally!) because they're busy I was thinking of selling off my white one and buying a red one.. but then again all of my casings probably won't match with the red phone we're talking about just installing an app that can monitor other people's whatsapp activities, that simple!
