Hey guys, I just put in my external gpu, and now I keep getting this: "Display driver stopped responding and has recovered"

Drivers are up to date, not using battery.
What's wrong?

anyone can confirm if same backup image can be use on different laptop for windows 8? if so, do we need to reactivate anything for the windows to work fine? Im using Y400 at moment.

But I heard latest drivers got issue with adjusting brightness?

u using the 120W ac adapter? not so sure, but i think it's not enough to provide power to both gpu...same thing happened to me when i tried testing the 2nd gpu...still waiting for the 170W ac adapter...

Y500 with dual gpus(gt650m SLI) is overkill since you are not into gaming. laugh.gif
Latest Y500 bundle with both 120w & 170w psu. You can bring the 120w psu when you need mobility. Swap in the ultrabay gpu and use 170w psu when you need the extra gpu performance.

If you want i7 , full HD laptop and don't mind the overkill gtx660m. Better get the cheaper Y580@2999 with gtx660m and longer battery life. Use the remaining budget to buy SSD and swap it with HDD, get a much cheaper HDD caddy bay and swap it with ODD. use the ODD as external drive. If you wish to retain the ODD,  then get the mSATA SSD for mSATA slot.  icon_rolleyes.gif

That re-seller most likely BS you tongue.gif . Normally there is no "warranty void" sticker around mSATA port smile.gif

Why would adding a m-sata ssd void the warranty?
The seller is totally noob and knows nothing about warranty

I think the seller mean that lenovo wont cover if the msata faulty later.and lenovo will only give warranty 2 years to stock specs..

That is y i wonder seems i dont know the lenovo laptop.. as i know for dell when i bought my xps four years ago, they just dont cover the part that u add to the system. Normally laptop i thk dont have the warranty sticker at the screw part since they want make life easier for user to do maintainance like clear dust or upgrade. ( correct me if i m wrong).

There are more n more not responsible saler in lowyat nowadays.. that time when i go survey.. There is a seller that still argue with me that y500 dont have some sort of thing like odd n msata part (he mentioned to me that y500 js can have one GPU).. totally damn st****. if not sure abot the product pls clarify with other instead of argue with customer.. vmad.gif Really need to be very alert when buying laptop in lowyat..
