I'm going to jump ship again next month to another greener side of grass. Joining fabrication yard involved with South Acis project EPCC.

Depend on your position with Turboservices... If I'm not mistaken they are under deleum which supply and service power generator set for rig, FPSO, FSO etc.. also involve in wellhead, wire line. If you have good knowledge in and out about Oil & Gas power generator, you will able to become pagkage engineer/manager for this equipment.. wink.gif

same to wellhead.. etc..

Words from managers in adco said they currently desperate to fill vacancies for drillers, geomodellers, reservoir engineers and petrophysicist. So anyone interested can send your resume to them.

Same here in Aramco. We are so desperate for people right now. My dept lost 25 people to retirement and resignations, we are supposed to be at +20 this year but instead we are at -22 ...

I was in fabrication for 6 months. It was fun. but i was working in the field (outdoors).
Most Design engineers (which is Kencana Bestwides core business, i believe) sit indoors in front of a pc, using Autocad all day, editing drawings.
haha, sorry for my bias last sentence. ^^ I mean it in a good way, i promise.

There are many sections of OnG that fall under Upstream & Downstream. Fabrication is just one of those sections. (EPCC/EPCIC)
Im now in the field, with some offshore work. I much prefer where i am now. just my opinion.

Haha...this doesn't sound too convincing. But yeah I think you're right, it's purely an office role. Anyway, thanks for your constructive responses, it's good to hear from people who are on the inside. rclxms.gif

Not completely office.
It does depend on your job scope. each job title will probably be doing different things.
Not everyone is confined to the office.

One of my ex-colleagues is working in Kencana-Bestwide, he is currently a coordinator, between the office in KL & Kencana HL yard in lumut. Since he's on site, he gets to see the actual fabrication going on. Very interesting as you can see the structure grow on a daily basis.

Im no longer inside, haha, so i cant give you the most accurate description of the benefits of the company.
Im sure some of the Sifus here at lyn can give you better advice.

Got an an offer to relocate to perth to join an EPCC contractor. Problem is I'm now comfortably working on the operator side here in Malaysia which I've just joined few months ago.

Do you guys think its wise to go back to contractor? Had been longing for a job offer in australia previously, when i was with local EPCC before got in to operator.....now having second thoughts.

any OnG company tat a material engineering discipline can join? Grade so-so so might not be able to join operator side, maybe any sub-con or con tat is doing material selection, or steel, alloy supplies to OnG company. I am planning to take CSWIP, but i dont know where need a fresh inspection engineer.. alot i see is experienced, other than that is inspector already which i think is not really relevant to engineering.
