just now went to engine oil treatment, wanted to ask the foreman about my axle issue one, but what he told me is that there is no more new axle in the market, only left recond axle which comes with 1 month warranty against any defect. then now my rear is using perdana disc, if i change the whole axle, the disc still can use?

seriously, the sound really damn dulan.. front there started to have "crook crook crook" sound while moving slow.. and my foreman told me is the axle sound which caused the crook crook sound.. duno real or not also.. sweat.gif

can use. or u can ask jenal see he willing to do d swapping or not.

d sound from front or rear? cannot hear onli. usual foreman will pusing d rim / shake shake abit rim b4 gib recommendation. usual axle onli change if d axle already start eat metal. if onli starts have minor sound wit rim wobble abit, then change bush onli is enough.. still waitin for custom PU bush for iswara raer bush. rubber bush too fas rosak if lowered/stiff abs..
*
i long time never contacted him already.. now funding for front disc..

erm, front and rear also have sound coming out.. the rear 1 is like mice sound while going through bumps.. even uneven roads do not have sound unless those very uneven like construction lorry roads, then have sound.. then the front 1 is crook crook crook sound when i move slowly around 5~30kmh.. very noticeable when traffic jam period where moving super slow.. then i can feel something like knocking my left foot..

btw, r u kau kah chai or kar yong? tongue.gif

how come front noise caused by rear? sinkalan la..lol. not logic. crook crook sound can caused by alot reason. does he pusing pusing rim / shake shake d rim? it may caused by wheel bearin/driveshaft or cv joint/bushing.
*
i also suspect he sinkalan 1.. he just jack up my car, then used his mini flashlight check2 abit, then say is my axle caused the sound.. i asked him sure bo, not driveshaft or batang2 thingy infront? he said confirm is axle problem..

QUOTE(Quazacolt @ Dec 2 2012, 01:28 AM)
may need to mod the axle a bit again, not sure on the actual full process since i didn't mod mine. settled with bendix ceramic drum brake replacement and so far i am satisfied with the results smile.gif
haven't open up the drum for brake dusts, however since it IS ceramic after all which boasts higher temperature sustenance and less brake dust, it should be good

since my axle repaired (the bushing etc all replaced) by kent (LYN ID nestum), so far so good. the sounds i am facing are mostly due to my car too low and the chassis are scraping against the speed bumps  doh.gif
a bit heart broken after finding out the root cause and my scraped up chassis sad.gif
*
yup.. bendix really give superb braking result thumbup.gif

but nowadays my front rims r like so damn dirty, and the disc looked so "line", macam uneven surface nia.. maybe due to the friction between the semi metal compound with the rotor..

how much u replaced your entire axle bushing? workmanship all ok?

eh you buying/ordering from where? i could be interested too to keep stock until my current one kong...

i know for a fact that rubber stuff kong in my car damn fast considering how i drive, and my car is indeed on lowered AND stiffer absorber/springs LOL

http://www.ebcbrakes.com/automotive_produc...l_flutter.shtml

i got sound too when hard braking, however that's mainly due to my brake pads and the fact that i'm running slotted/x drilled rotors which have extra brake shaving and it gets apparent during hard brake. that said, currently facing brake vibrations during hard braking too and it's getting worse and the above link details as to why and i can even use my fingers to feel the un-evenness.

my next brake pad change is definitely EBC (hopefully they got produce for proton iswara sad.gif ) and will either get my rotors replaced to normal solid disc, or just skim my current ones.

anyways from your description, seems like your knuckle area/drive shaft etc having issues. if straight line also got the sound, temporarily can rule out drive shaft, and focus on the rotor, bushings, especially considering that you can feel the vibration with your left foot. (around middle end?)
chances are it could also be your gear box or engine/transmission mounting (low rpm, vibrating car)

Added on December 2, 2012, 2:12 am

you used that bendix before? thought you sold yours brand new still with wrapping etc lol

and yes, depending on what brake pads you use, it can slowly wear down the rotor, and eventually it will cause braking vibrations/noise sad.gif

the entire repair i think around/less than rm200?
most of the time was spent on the axle, however i got buy other things too so not too bad la for the "cheap" labor (refer to my previous posts detailing on what i've done during that day lol, IINM got pricing too)
*
PU bushing can last better than ori rubber? then i might consider taking that PU also..

forget to mentioned that when i turn around 45 degree to the left or right, it will sound higher level instead.. friend of mine asked what was that sound, i just lied to him sayin thats my hidden turbo turbine spinning tongue.gif

normal straight direction, i dont really notice it due to rapid sound and poor sound proofing from the car itself.. only noticeable during slow driving like traffic light, jam or parking that time. my braking dont produce any sound.. i tried to touch my rotor, it seems uneven surface, but when i touch it, seems to be smooth..

changed all 4 mountings about a year back, so all the 3 mountings except the front 1 is in excellent condition.

yup, that time i bought front and rear, but i only get to use it for my front using bendix ultimate.. seriously bite like mad compared with my previous shitty abc brand pad..

around 200 for changing that should be fine.. but what im afraid of is that after i fix it, then the problem still there, that time i really wtf lol..

yes they last longer than rubber, synthetic based after all

if your sound is more apparent during turning, then most likely it is the drive shaft/cv joint.
considering the sound is also present (since you didn't say no sound, only higher when turning) during straights, i'd recommend replacing the entire drive shaft for both sides, expensive, however less headaches that way.

well im not too keen on bendix fronts considering the materials used. my current rapid stop is headache as it is in regards to brake dust haha.

best if you can identify where the sound is actually coming from instead of troubleshooting blindly smile.gif
if you're looking for kent then you can explain to him and he can help you troubleshoot.
*
how much is replacing whole driveshaft lol.. but replacing the axle and changing the axle seems cost a lot though.

is the rapid stop good? i saw plenty of positive review about it too. used to have dilemma on getting the bendix or RS tongue.gif

best to use this. if the water is leaking too much eventually it'll push through your tape especially if you park your car under the sun a lot as the heat will liquidfy the glue and it'll lose its holding strength (not to mention leaving behind a messy sappy mess! and i can attest to that considering im a "fan" of duct tape myself  rolleyes.gif )

personal advise is to just get silicone to seal it. the glue on duct tape typically won't last under hot sun  sweat.gif

actually planned to do so 1, but that silicone gun is with my friend, he went for vacation, then summore now rainy season, so forced to seal it with duct tape 1st.. unsure.gif

wanted to wash car 1, but macam nowadays keep on raining.. my car full of dust.. few inches thick of dust.. zz rclxub.gif

ace hardware got sell la, just bought a silicone gasket sealant recently (when i was shopping for extension coiled cording + spotlight pricing for my detailing project) to reinforce my engine mounting, plan to buy the mountings on tomorrow after i wake up, then let it cure for a couple days next OCI (500-600+ km to go)

that said, yes i got a caulking gun myself for the same reason, but damn the whole tube hardened already and can't reuse (prolly i didn't seal it well enough, i guess newspapers stuffing are no good >.>) , so end up have to buy again and since i only use small amount, might as well buy small tube in case the darn thing harden itself again and waste my money (those tubes requiring caulking gun need at least rm40-50+)

then i dont know already.. but most of the time, it should be the rear lamp causing the water leakage into the boot.. or try ask around 4g1series group @ fb.. maybe they know.. nod.gif

---------------------

a question which i wanted to ask quite some time already, but keep on forget.. since our normal 14" rims are in 6.0jj, then can we put in for like 14" with 6.5 or 7 or even 7.5jj (assume there is such rim available in the market) how do i determine the correct tyre for the rim?

i was thinkin if inspira stock rim is 7.0jj, can it fit stock evo10 8.5jj bbs rim without any modification? brows.gif

does a car stability during high speed aka lesser floating feel greatly depending on the jj of the tyre? hmm.gif

why would i do that when i'm on matte black advanti rims? besides, chrome grey would look much worse with the horrible brake dust tainting it orangey

car stability depends on your overall suspension setup to keep your car stable on the road. then it is your tire's traction/grip that keeps it firmly implanted.
it's not your rims who determines it, rims are only governed by its weight, and its size specifications to allow fitting towards your wheel hubs/brake modules etc and of course the tires that it can accommodate.
*
oh, in that case u dont need to matte your rim like my glossy stock rim lol..

okay, then how about the jj? how do i know if the tyre fit the jj of the rim?
