recently I just found another annoying thing, I'm not sure about you WP users but whenever there's a call coming and I happen to be in wifi mode on standby, then I picked the call and almost after saying "hello?" the phone just blast everything at your ear if you didn't turn on silent, notifications sound like whatsapp or message rings will just blast through your ear during the conversasion making you really really uncomfortable when hearing the other side. doh.gif

Well, not exactly at your ear. Depending on where your speakers are. This is also the reason why I stopped using WM on phone. I get messages all the time, and a lot of calls daily too. It's okay to sound sometimes, but all the time is annoying.

Off-topic: Someone keep coming over to 踩场 (tease about something) but ironically he tends to slap his own face... what on earth is he? trolololol
Enough is enough, we had enough of that already

On-topic: It seems most review sites are quite picky over l920's weight, and maybe apps, only slashgear is quite fair on it.
And I like how Nokia colour-ed up their headphones to match with colour of your phone, the yellow one ishhhh sexy

Well, this isn't exactly a "bug" and the community hasn't made much noise over this yet. So, I believe it'd be carried over to WP8 too. Let's see. I still don't own a WP8 yet lol

Off-topic, well, I don't care. I trust in freedom of speech smile.gif

On topic, yea I noticed that too. Come on, only few grams heavier than a Note 2. If someone is able to carry a Note / Note 2 around, then L920 wouldn't be much of an issue.

I think it's one of the things requested by many to be 'fixed' in WP8.

Since both 820 and 920 are unibody design, so that means the stupid SIRI stickers etc again?

Yeah of course but I rely on the sound all the time so that I dont have to stare at the live tiles every single 5 minutes just to make sure I don't miss anything from my clients. (My clients love to use Whatsapp).

I understand the speaker is located at the bottom of my Lumia but during calls on my phone, the phone/OS will ring at your ear (where the 'voice' speaker is located) instead of the big one below. And even sometimes when I'm on data connected (3G/H) it doesn't really update my notifications on the live tiles instead it happens during calls. doh.gif

Well, most of the rings are from Whatsapp.

Another Whatsapp issue rclxms.gif

Yes, I feel you man. I have a L800 myself and like I said, I got so pissed with it that I turned off Windows Messenger entirely.

Just a note of caution, this sudden blast can be avoided. Prior to the loud blast, you'll first hear 2 rings (sounds like bell ringing) then followed by a full blast. So, move it away from your ear prior to the full blast, it will save you smile.gif

I frequent Windows Phone User Voice. This issue hasn't made much "inroads" yet compared to many other.

The most notable issue raised by users is the change of region, followed by notification center. Devs at Microsoft acknowledged that they ran out of time, so they could not implement one this time around. However, since WP8 now supports OTA update, I believe we'll be seeing it soon.

I am still stuck to Australia, god damn. It would take them approximately 6 weeks to do a region change, during this period, my Xbox live profile would be suspended doh.gif

Another highly voted feature is multiple ring / volume profiles.

For me, even with all these issues, I'm still sticking to WP. Main selling point is the Office Mobile and Skydrive. It has saved me countless times when I was out in the field.

I think you misunderstand.

I am asking whether there is any setting to off notification sound, whether it's a message or incoming call, when you are on a call, like what they have in S3.

Well, unfortunately, that's the only solution I can give you biggrin.gif

I'm not Microsoft, so I can't really fix that for you.

Perhaps you can do a vote at User Voice portal.

800 is nice. What's the COD price? Zitron is selling it for RM859 now. So if it's any higher than that, don't buy. I'd rather place my trust on Zitron than anyone else.

Well, it's okay if they do not implement for WP7.8, frankly it's dead end. Many people think that it's unfair, but to me, I like the phone's features now, so I buy the phone now. I don't buy into what the phone is capable of in the future. I buy it now because I like it now. So the lack of upgrade path, while seems sour at first, I can accept it because I bought my L800 not for the future capabilities, but for what it was capable of offering in WP7.5. Anything more is extra, that's how I see it.

At least all 4 features get implemented in WP8 rclxms.gif

Well, just to clear off some confusions you may have, notifications are "Live".

This is where Live Tile come into play. You receive a Toast notification which will appear on your screen for about 5 secs, and then it will go off. If you pin your app into the Start page, your app's tile will show (#) number of messages you have. In WP8, a tile can be stretched to form a wide tile. When that happens, it has sufficient space to also display your messages (up to 5 last received messages). These are called Live Apps.

There was a feature requested when they announce WP7 users can't go to WP8. The users raged and they made a suggestion to bring every features in WP8 into WP7.8 but now I don't see it on the Hot list.

smile.gif I don't share the same sentiment like many others with regards to WP7.8. So, I'm quite okay with it. At least, with WP8, there's a 18 months upgrade guarantee, which is pretty good rclxms.gif
