Dell U2713H or U2713HM should suits your needs, those are cheaper and locally available models, if you can afford more, you can seek those much higher grade professionals monitor with uniformity adjustable monitor, those are really expensive and needs to import.
With that said, every professional monitors will not be accurate out of box unless it's tuned using professional calibration tools, despite that each manufacturer has its own calibration tools, methods so if you really want archive accurate colours, it's best to seek for professional calibration every month or buy yourself calibration tools.

Thanks for the suggestion!
About those color calibration tools tho, what's the 'go to' brand? Spyder?

Regards calibration tools, quite subjective, may have to look at majority and the colour space that you will be working on, if you don't mind little set-back, the entry Spyder should provides you basic calibration for starters.
I think someone here provides the calibration service, need to flip them through... sweat.gif I think it's last thread version, kinda lazy to dig them through, hopefully they see this post and give you informative feedback.

Are you limit your budget to these 2 models? If you're connecting MBP and XBox360 at the same time, the only option is S2440L, otherwise you may find yourself searching for converter to connects both your laptop and console.

If you're not then try push more for U2414H, which has 2x HDMI ports, suitable for your needs as you won't need to change cables.
U2414H I believe the promo already ended but some reseller may provide better price than Dell Direct. Search for user keyword "teng".

Btw, U2414H really has great review and value for its price, a definite improvement over last generation IPS. icon_rolleyes.gif

2713H and HM big difference in price yo.
2713HM more like cheaper alternative, without premium color etc.

A bit regret didn't get 27  cry.gif
1920x1080 not enough use  cry.gif

Hey! I'm looking for monitor around 22" to 24" or more with the budget around RM500 to RM600 ish? (could consider more)

I would mainly do some video editing and illustration on it.

Thanks! smile.gif

dell p2314h or dell u2312hm (no more in production i guess), usually dell monitor out of box is setting quite good (just need to reduce brightness level only).

but for my preference, i will fork more money for benq ew2440l (little pricey, rm719 or more)(need quite alot setting changes and eye calibration, but the result is awesome)

maybe just my own personal preference. I already testdrive 32" 4K, everything already reach my minimum size expectation on all windows object, text. either 24" or 27, or 28" still totally out for me. unless you mainly use only for movie, else, photo editing, viewing text, are damm difficult. adjust DPI to 120% is workaround but won't be nice as 100%.

and I cannot accept 30hz, all moving object are obviously lag seen. must get displayport 1.2 support PC + 4K 60Hz Monitor. and TN also not my cup of coffee. just my 50cents.....

hi all,

i'm thinking of getting a 27" monitor and hook it up with my desktop PC as well as my Xbox 360...

U2713HM looks to be a pretty decent choice but it only has 1 HDMI port, else I was thinking to connect HDMI from both my XBOX and desktop PC to the monitor....

any other choices i have out there that will make the connection easy?

or i may just need to plug in and out the speaker output between the monitor and my desktop PC...

hmm...thanks!

sometimes latest technology/design/trending, dell bit slow. new model dell U2414H just start to have have dual hdmi but it's just 24", you want 27", maybe this year end if you can wait.

the best for PC is using DL-DVI and now DislayPort. if Xbox cannot support up to 1440p, then you might need to reconsider other 1080p only monitor. so looks like single monitor solution not perfect for you, your call.....

Need some inputs from the sifus around here. I need a monitor for my desktop rig which using a msi r9 280x gpu. Mainly for gaming and movies only. I am considering a 27" pc monitor or a larger led tv.

I am not sure about the difference between a pc monitor and a tv led. Won't mind to fork out a little more for a larger screen, but I am not sure whether a led tv could handle gaming smoothly.

Thank you all in advanced.

You are using PC, not console.

Unless you are using PC on a living room and sit on couch, then you should pick LED TV.
