for premium panel info,read here:
http://www.dell.com/Learn/us/en/19/campaig...c=us&l=en&s=dhswrong, the complete word phase is "
premium panel gurantee", part of marketing words.
it got nothing to do with better or worse panel. see above link
glossy screen is nothing wrong provided u have controlled light source, matte screen is all rounder for work horse but u lose some color which is crucial in
multimedia playbackso instead of stopping ppl buy gloss screen, why not ask for ppl usage first?
Nah, glossy screen popping out better color is a urban myth.
It all comes down to the screen panel's contrast, range of gamut, etc.
If glossy = better color as what you have claimed, every professional monitor like HP dreamcolor or NEC or Dell Ultrasharp would have used glossy panel. Heck, even the legendary Apple cinema 30" (which is far superior than any current monitor apple has) used matte screen.
When i said 'premium panel', i meant the panels are already pre-calibrated according to factory setting which is better than the glossy S series. In fact, Ultrasharp series is one of the most 'flexible' monitors around (meaning it is compatible with most hardware screen calibrators)
And what Dell meant by premium panel = part of the superb warranty service, which is miles ahead than its competitors.
maybe u misunderstood my post.
PS: Ive tried both U series and S series monitors before, and currently im using U2713HM.
