that was the idea last time. all recommendation in 1 thread. but it got so messy in the end it's pointless, at most for reference.

end up people still open their thread to request.

but the notebook & laptop recommendation can last till so long... nod.gif

biggrin.gif of course la. notebook new model come, old model go.

desktops are totally different.

just load a price list and you can see the variation.

# of processors x # of board x # number of ram config x # gpu # gpu qty x # storage x casing x psu ........ biggrin.gif we're looking at an insane amount of combo for different purpose.

I think this will be an endless thread coz new and higher technology keep coming out, and Laptops are fully made! You don't even need someone to recommend you a laptop! While for desktop different part fits to different part give you different performance. You can also choose to watercooled ur system.

So now let's hope this thread last as long as I live XD

Updating the price for the components every 3 month is too long. Even 1 month is too long. It has to be done at least twice in a month since price for hardware changes pretty often. smile.gif
*
Most of the parts remain quite the same in 3 months, such as processor, hard disk and PSU.
Only graphic card and occasionally mobo have more frequent price updates. Even then, monthly update would be sufficient as the price revision only goes about 4-8% either way. Then there's the promo period by Garage Sales people.

Question of update comes secondary to motivation and know how for the setup of such a webpage.

Either way the price changes are usually enough to justify for the need to update at the very least monthly, since they give enough headroom for better or new components to be put in.

the changes are too minor la. once every month or 2 would suffice.

my style is not to follow buta buta the price on price list, i prefer to round it up higher a bit.

i think the price change or difference is always there..
I think what we could provide is the rough figure.
there are some LYN member that is not located in KL and their only choice is to get expensive part from their local computer shop :

Well,
there are the matter of peripheral as well.
Even as Hardware section have multiple thread like Razer,Steelseries or Logitech
there are still alot of question asking recommendation from Hardware Question & Answer.

I will contribute my own custom rig list.
It is up to the user to sort things else,
perhaps help those in some thread where the question is so common
no one bother to reply in the thread laugh.gif

I don't mind, as long it's within my budget. I'll be OCing too but not too extreme just casual OCer. I don't want a performance RAM, not important to me.
I appreciate if you guys can quote and spoiler my post so I get the notifications. Thanks.

Ah I see, so the price went a little bit high now, last time I saw 8GB value only rm90 or something, probably I saw wrong.

4GB isn't enough, now I'm using 4GB .. on idle w/ basic apps already used up to 2.5GB. I guess I'll wait for the price to drop a little bit.
Thanks for the suggestions.

Never seen 8GB RAM dropped to RM90. However, the price dropped to RM149 now.
