Hi guys, where I can buy a new gigabyte powerock 390w? My budget is below 100. Seems cannot find it in lowyat pricelist, found 420w but base on research 390w is better?

is it worth to "upgrade" from cm 460w gx (not 80+) to powerock 390w? Please shed some light. Thanks.

btw this is my rig, most of the time use to surfing + download only. do light gaming occasionally

460W GX? Or is that Extreme Power Plus 460W? As far as I know, Cooler Master GX series has 450W model and not 460W. Anyway, if that is Cooler Master Extreme Power Plus 460W model then that PSU is actually 80%+ efficient (even though it was not labeled as 80+ certified). For your information, actual continuous wattage of that Extreme Power Plus 460W model is 420W. As for the GigaByte PoweRock 390W, it may be hard to find nowadays as GigaByte released the newer PowerRock EX series (which is not true wattage, and not 80+ certified unlike the original PoweRock series). wink.gif

Can't go back... already bought the CPU ><.Besides the only game im gona play is dota2 dota 3 dota 4 dota 5..... =D.
As long as no intensive games, then should be fine. That's the problem with APUs, hard to recommend for gaming when there are better alternatives. You can even check this AMD Trinity APU Peformance as a CPU with Dedicated Graphics Review NCIX Tech Tips. Gamers tend to go for discrete GPUs for better gaming performance. This is why AMD had a huge inventory write down of APUs in their Q3 financial report. hmm.gif

Anyone knows the difference between

MSI FM2 A-55       vs         Asrock FM2 A-55 ?
The A-75 version of both MSI and Asrock / Gigabyte just costs 10 pounds more for at most for me to buy. The only advantage im assuming is 4 DIMM ram slots, 3.0 USB and i tink SDD 6gbps ?
Im kinda worried about the size of the A-75 whether it will fit a
micro ATX case or not. Because its a first time im building it too.

The 1600 mhz RAM 8gb costs me 30.76 pounds . The 1866 8gb costs me 33 pounds. Thats why i chose the 1866. Price gap is very small  between these 2...
Not familiar with prices in U.K. Without the actual model number, its has to check. Most low budget boards are microATX anyway. As always, check the manufacturer's website for motherboard information. icon_rolleyes.gif

Sorry my bad, it's elite power/extreme 460w doh.gif

The exact model is RS-460-PCAR-J3 and the label saying the output for 12v trail is 324w, and max output is 377.9w.

This model is actually manufactured by FSP. You can read the a of that PSU here: Hardware Secrets » Power » Cooler Master Elite Power 460 W Power Supply Review. Its not bad, and does have roughly between 76.2% and 81.3% efficiency. Again, the actual wattage of this PSU is 420W. However as long as you do not pull the maximum 420W from this PSU (which causes ripples to exceed standard specifications), then everything should be fine. wink.gif

Most likely Elite Power series for Cooler Master OEM casings. Even though the UL number points to "Cooler Master" (which does not manufacture PSUs at all!), the actual OEM of the PSU should be FSP. The eXtreme Power Plus models have a different UL number pointing to AcBel as OEM... wink.gif

OIC. thanks for your thorough explaination!! notworthy.gif

no wonder when I bought that time the seller din't give me any box, just sealed with wrapping plastic only, probably someone bought the casing and don't want the casing.... (that time I am still very noob in hardware, everything make sense now)

I think I will cont using this psu, since my pc only require 200++ watt, hehe.

Thanks again. notworthy.gif biggrin.gif
