I'm pinning this thread. The previous thread's success was shortlived because TS go MIA
initially it was my thread, all based on my recommendations. then later there's some other guy, i can't remember. now i hope SARX can do a good job updating la, while the rest just pm him to update the 1st post. or better still, you can list out ALL the contributors. we give about 2 weeks to accumulate contributor list. After that, each one go in an post 1 post in a new thread. This way everyone just update their own post, no need kacau TS. Added on August 20, 2012, 10:22 pmhrm. after going through 1st page - i guess you guys are already doing that. me slowpoke. nevertheless - I think we'll have to tidy up the thread a little. |

QUOTE(goldfries @ Aug 20 2012, 11:31 PM) if they don't mind that ok la. I did mine too, but the problem is when this thread goes wild like 20++ pages, forumers can't find their desire build in that pile of mess, so I just copy mine and theirs and just make it into a blog! Nice and simple with title to go with, easy to find i haven't updated mine. http://www.goldfries.com/pc-buying-guide/ and i don't copy others setup to put on mine because i don't feel nice. |

It will be cool if we can create a page with pull down menu for the components and total prices will be calculated at the end. Then update the price database every 3 months.
Option of selecting rig by price (maybe price brackets) or by purpose, also specify if need monitor or OS or peripherals. But someone need to actively look up the different offers in Garage Sales, unless the sellers are willing to send in the updates themselves. Eg: Default start page to include: Expected budget, option if to include monitor/OS/peripherals, and purpose (general/gaming/graphic workhorse/mixed) Then upon selection, a preset configuration of recommended parts (for the set budget) will come out. At that page, user can select what they want to change as each component will have pull down menu with parts (and average price) At the end, the new total price will be calculated, with info on where to get the components for best price. |

Don't see any. anyway, as mention, since cybercafe rig don need any optical drive, can shave off and add on to graphics/monitor size. was wondering if HD7770 can handle full hd properly. and chances is, i might go for case-less design..now just wondering, if i "Push OS" to the systems, will it be giving too much stress on the server pc. cause with this push os..dn need hard disk anymore |

Then update the price database every 3 months. Updating the price for the components every 3 month is too long. Even 1 month is too long. It has to be done at least twice in a month since price for hardware changes pretty often. |

Pretty sure you have seen a thread where the Thread Starter insist on AMD and other sifu will do what they do best to give reason why Intel currently taking the lead as best for bucks. It is welcome without no doubt since for user like me it is easy to modified suggestion given to my own personal occur or using it to compare pricetag but deeper discussion like setting up 3 monitor or any other situation will deprive the user to create their own thread. |

that was the idea last time. all recommendation in 1 thread. but it got so messy in the end it's pointless, at most for reference.
end up people still open their thread to request. |
