QUOTE(Msactually @ Sep 21 2012, 01:04 AM) Is the integrated gpu good enough though? If it isnt, is there a cheaper but quite good gpu? Dont need a powerful one, my friend doesnt play games which require those. I'd say yes. Intel HD graphics in the latest ivy bridge processor performs quite well. You can even play games like Diablo III with FPS around 25-30. Even though it's low. Still playable If no intention of playing games onboard graphics from the I7 will do . If honestly want to cut cost then can get Xeon which is around RM699 I think , not to sure about the pricing and get a cheapo gpu like the Radeon 6450 RM109 Total RM808. Hi Sifu, Why the AMD processor which have more core and cache size, but the processor benchmark still below par of Intel processor which have less core and cache? What is the technical reason behind? for instance : fx8120 is slower than I7-2600 http://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu.php?cpu=AM...8120+Eight-CoreThis post has been edited by alvincks: Sep 21 2012, 01:41 PM

Read more about AMD Bulldozer here:- http://www.anandtech.com/show/5057/the-bul...g-even-deeper/9http://www.extremetech.com/computing/10058...ead-performance+1 on this. It's all about architecture..u shouldn't judge something with their rough spec IMO..i7 has a faster clock cycle that instantly could pawn FX-8150 easily.. QUOTE The key difference here is how much work each CPU can get done per clock cycle. Intel's Sandy Bridge CPUs are much more efficient at that than any of AMD's processors, which are more competitive with the old Core 2 series as far as instructions completed per clock cycle goes. The result is when running at the same clockspeed, the Intel CPU will be about 20% faster than its AMD counterpart.

wanting to do my gaming rig.. told my dad about it, and suddenly he said that he has his own custom gaming rig back in the days and it is at his office.. he just brought it back home. I didnt open it up yet, since it was never used since the 90s (or 2000) but it was left for quite a long time. He said he spend thousands on it, and most expensive was on the motherboard itself. he say in that time that motherboard was the best and big and very expensive (thats what he told me la) i will open it later and myb post photos too.. but i wanna ask whether a long not used pc and trying to revive it back by just adding a newer PSU, newer CPU and a graphic card and a bigger HDD is it possible?? even tho its an old motherboard?? and is it possible for the mobo to be damaged too for long time never use or still can revive one? Also is there such casing for PC called CARII Multimedia Computer System?? This casing is possibly the futuristic-ish (alienware-ish) kind of design back in the days.. and it also has a floppy disk slot LOL o.o So yeah thanks for helping

QUOTE(zerohunter @ Sep 21 2012, 11:22 PM) a picture would be better than thousand words LOL sorry okay finally I've disassembled all wires and units including power supply.. just left the motherboard, some ethernet cable card and display card connected to the motherboard, and the motherboard is still connected to the casing. but its already naked to the core most of it. Tried to checked the CPU but the words on it kinda lost?? Idk how to explain like theres no more words on it, except the fan on top of the CPU is intel, and on the power supply theres a sticker intel pentium 4 so maybe thats the cpu but none the less heres the photo. Now gimme tips on how to check the motherboard brand and model lol Added on September 21, 2012, 11:49 pmis there any possible way to upload photo here I'll tweet it, I'll give a link to the tweeted photo, thanks Added on September 21, 2012, 11:51 pmhere it is http://tinyurl.com/9fe3uhdThis post has been edited by 99problems: Sep 21 2012, 11:51 PM

Better just sell them off. I3 2100 RM339 WD caviar blue 500GB RM194 Msi H61 board RM149 4GB x 1 DDR3 Ram RM60 DVD-rw (if got from previous reuse it ) Sapphire 7750 1GB RM340 Fsp hexa 500w RM149 (What's the current psu you have with you ?) Gigabyte GZ chassis RM59 Total RM1290 Assuming you sell off the previous parts you should be able to get all this . I'm not pretty sure about playing in high settings though
