Yo, Asus P8Z77-M cant fit in Bitfenix Prodigy

Haha , good one .

I have few opinion

1. I would suggest enermax naxn 82 + 750w bronze semi modular over the corsair tx/hx 750 , cheaper and semi modular

2. I would suggest gtx 680 4gb / hd 7970 toxic 6gb for triple monitor setup , multi GPU sometime got bugs and consume more power , also need a more expensive mobo

3. I suggest WD brand over seagate for HDD , reason is WD gives 2 years warranty , seagate 1 year only

4. For non oc , single GPU rig , I suggest either MSI b75ma-p45 rm224 , or gigabyte h77m-d3h rm299 . Actually there is another recommendation which is Asrock h77pro4/MVP rm299 but very difficult to get stock

5. No need performance ram , just stick with value ram , no real life performance different

6. Never get Samsung optical drive

I was looking at the asrock fatality z77 professional-m, and asrock z77 pro4-m

but everyone was like recommending p8z77-m, I tot the pro4-m is better if want go for budget..

yes I'm looking for mATX build
*
not sure it's the pro4-m is available in stock . i personally suggest either to take the asu p8z77-m for budget mobo, or asrock fatal1ty pro-m for sli/nicer looking

Asus p8b75-m le and asus p8b75-m lx what is the difference?
And between asus and gigabyte which is better bcause i heard some bad things about gigabyte.
between fsp hexa 500w and silverstone strider 50+ is there any huge difference in quality because the price difference is kinda big like rm40.
Any other recommended casing since the ones you've recommended is not available in my place, they got cm Elite 311 which doesnt have usb 3.0. How about the cm elite 430 or thermaltake commander ms-i?
*
if u want peace of mind and better warranty service, get asus. i'm not guarantee that the asus one doesn't have problem but the chances is lower and service is better. p8b75-m le has LucidLogix® Virtu MVP , the other one doesn't. this feature will slightly boost ur gpu performance.

fsp hexa is much cheaper compare to other same watt psu doesn't mean it's bad quality. it just that it priced lower than others. u can look at the gpu side like the leadtek brand and others, leadtek has up to rm100 or more in difference compare to others.

the thermaltake commander ms-i is a good alternative if it's the usb 3.0 version. smile.gif

i actually do survey for most of the hardware parts from time to time and i did come across to this new tomahawk 500w. what i can see is that model isn't a 80+ rated, maybe that's why nobody is recommending that. it's good for some rigs that gpu doesn't need power plug but with a psu that can long run coz they wanna avoid cap ayam psu tongue.gif for ur case, with a gtx 670 gpu, a minimum 80+ rated true power psu is recommended.

get enermax naxn 550w rm215 instead if u can top up smile.gif

QUOTE(Celestine @ Aug 31 2012, 11:06 PM)
Hi everyone, i'm building my first desktop rig which will be used for gaming (bros play ps2 emulator, battlefield 3 and WOW) whereas i use it to watch movie (1080p)...the following is my rig:

i5 3570K-->RM740
SAPPHIRE AMD RADEON HD 7850 256bit 2GB DDR5 (PCIE 3.0) - OC Version-->RM797
ASUS P8Z77-V LX-->RM430
1000GB Western Digital 16M SATAIII - WD10EALX / WD10EZEX-->RM262 (not sure if this is caviar blue 7200rpm)
CORSAIR CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9 (4GB 1600MHz x 2) - Vengeance Dual -->RM262
CM STORM ENFORCER-->RM288
CORSAIR Gaming Series GS600watts -->RM318

total RM3097

any recommendation and advice? Budget would be RM3.5K

my primary concerns are the power supply, and motherboard.
For mother board, any better suggestions? also, what is the difference between ASUS P8Z77-M and ASUS P8Z77-V LX besides the price:p...In terms of power supply, i tried using neweggs calculator and it says ~450W...is 600 gaming series above enough...a side note is that i have an extra caviar green 2Tb HDD to add on including one DVD-RW optical drive...as for RAM, is it advisable to use CORSAIR vengeance dual 1866Mhz? would it make any significant difference?any advice are greatly appreciated!
Thanks so much in advance!:D

do u overclock ur cpu? if not no need 'k' series cpu and z77 mobo, core i5 3450 and msi h77ma-g43 is good enough

can consider this if u no overclock

intel core i5 3450 rm564
msi h77ma-g43 rm319
kingston value 4gb x2 rm124
leadtek gtx 670 rm1120 (boonykun @ garage sales)
wd blue 1tb rm249
enermax naxn 550w rm215 (lingloong @ garage sales)
corsair carbide 400r rm299 (lingloong @ garage sales)

total rm2890 (prices from viewnet unless stated)

since there's still budget, can consider grabbing an intel 330 120gb ssd rm319

1)Well, when u overclock it gets hotter than usual so u wanna make sure the processor is cool
2)7850 is good enough but since u have enough budget for an GTX670, why not?
3)Corsairs are good but seasonic are better

Added on August 31, 2012, 11:45 pmI suggest u get the parts from idealtech / Cyntrix / lingloong and have them post them to u, it would be cheaper. you could even have them assemble the parts then post it to u. i personally prefer idealtech
*
seasonic is the oem maker of the corsair top range gold psu, the AX series smile.gif

agreed with buying from forum sellers as mentioned, good prices and good services.

Oh, make sure you get the 3770K instead of the 3770 because the 3770K has an unlocked multiplier for overclocking.

Added on September 1, 2012, 6:56 am
I'd rather go with this:-
i5 3570K-RM689
ASUS P8Z77-M-RM339
WD Caviar Blue 500GB-RM194
Kingston 2x4GB Value RAM-RM132
Fractal Design Core 1000 mATX casing-RM180 (CyntrixTech@Garage Sales)
Leadtek GTX670 2GB GDDR5-RM1120 (boonykun@Garage Sales)
Enermax NAXN 550W PSU-RM215 (lingloong@Garage Sales)
Noctua NH-U9B CPU cooler-RM189 (Hikari85@Garage Sales)
Total: RM3058
You do not need faster RAMs. 1333MHz is enough for this setup.  600W is more than enough for this rig.  Heck, a quality 450W is enough for this.
Comes in small form factor some more.... brows.gif

Budget: RM1800-1900

Purpose: Gaming (latest games), programming, internet, movies

Available hardware:
- Crucial M4 128GB
- HD6970
- Gigabyte Odin Pro 550W

New hardware needed:
- CPU (i5)
- Mobo (mATX)
- RAM (8GB)
- Case (TJ08E - small case =D)
- soundcard (asus xonar dx)
- cooler?

* Note: I currently own a Phenom II x4 955BE and 212+, but I only OC it once but then revert it back to stock because it heats up my room like a heater. (I have no air-cond)

I wonder if I should go for 3570K + Z77 or non-K + H77...

**Note: Motherboard I want suggestion other than p8z77-m, such as shame that it doesn't has PCIe at the 4th slot because I want to put my asus xonar dx at 4th slot rather than 3rd slot and blocking my 6970's airflow.

notworthy.gif sorry if my request is too specific..
*
since IB is giving more heat then SB, maybe u should go with non k cpu + h77 mobo, perhaps

intel core i5 3450 rm564
msi h77ma-g43 rm319
kingston value 4gb x2 rm124
silverstone th08-e rm349 +/-
asus xonar dx 7.1 pci-e rm279
stock cooler

prices from viewnet

Guys, helping a friend here and found this spec under gaming rig budget RM2k without monitor. Are these items enough for rendering and do some 3D works? Main usage 3D editing and multimedia stuff, will need to render etc. And I thought of upgrading the CPU to i5. Any suggestion? budget 2.5k with monitor.

Intel I3-2100 RM339
MSI B75MA-P45 RM224
MSI HD7850 Twin Frozr RM849
Kingston Value Ram 4GB RM64
WD Blue 1TB HDD RM254

Any DVD rom/writer RM60

If mainly rendering , change to intel core i7 3770 rm909 , change 7850 to palit/leadtek 550ti rm369 , throw in another 4gb stick then it's good to go
