I was suggested to ask my question here.. So here goes nothing, hope you guys help.. Thanks! smile.gif
My budget is 1500.. But I can push up 200-300 more. I want to have custom pc with monitor.. like normal set.. but good for gaming and perfomance.
I'd love to play games like Sid Meier Civilisation, Sims 3, SimCity(2013), Total war. I also want good graphics. Basically a good perfomance for gaming with that budget, possible? I also from time to time listen music and edit videos but not as frequent.. Im planning to make my PC just for games.. Online connection.. And strictly no porn heheh dont want virus in an awesome rig biggrin.gif

Quite good, for that budget i have to say.

And yea, no problem there. Can upgrade to any better 1155 socket Intel CPU, add RAM, or upgrade GPU or add HDD; any time you want later on.

Oh okay.. Thanks smile.gif
Wait!! How about operating system?? Windows 7 right, should you buy it or do they give free?? Lol, if buy how much then? never were into the pc stuff all this while with console only :/

Also, does it include keyboard mouse speakers headset all? Or should I have extra cash in hand to buy them.. if so suggestions for good quality and not so expensive? biggrin.gif

Above was suggested for my 1.5k budget from a smart dude..
Anyway wanna ask whether this rig can handle sims 3, simcity all? Prefer playing strategy or games like sims and total war and sid meier civilization more on pc.. And still new to this all this while played console only.. Wanna ask 2 things:
1) Will this rig handle games like sims 3 and civilization, at what graphics level?? High or medium or just low..
2) if I have an external hard disk 1 TB, can i just give the guy at lowyat to extract the hdd and put it into my rig instead of me buying a new one?? Because want money to buy good mouse keyboard and speaker also..

thanks! biggrin.gif

someone reply me please?? Post before no one replied lol.. with this
Core i3 3220 RM389
MSI H61M-P31-RM149
Kingston 1333 ram 4GB RM64
Sapphire HD7750-RM329
FSP Hexa 500W PSU RM149
WD Caviar Blue 500GB HDD RM140
Lite-On 22x DVDRW RM59
Gigabyte GZ-X Casing-RM59
Acer V193H monitor-RM239

questions:
1) this rig can support gaming graphics at what level?? Especially games like sims 3 and civilization, will it achieve high level graphics or just medium??

2) the guy who suggested to me.. he gave the processor and graphics card.. but what gb/ghz is that?? i mean the intel i3, how many ghz, and the graphic card how many ghz is that?? lol sorry still new

3) and seeing i have tight budget of 1.5k-1.6k, can i swap the i3 with something cheaper like amd PHENOM II X2 555 AM3 3.20ghz L2 7MB(whats L2?) RM299.. or A4 3400 dual cores FM1 2.70ghz L2 1MB RM209/A6 3500 triple cores FM1 2.10 L2 3MB RM249 ?? Can someone also explain whats better for gaming the i3 the guy suggested or what i see which is cheaper.. because i also want to buy good speakers and keyboard and mouse..

Thanks !! biggrin.gif

EDIT: Also I have 1 TB external hard drive. Can external hard drive used as internal?? Like putting it into the motherboard all, as I said I want extra cash to buy other stuff lol tongue.gif

wanting to do my gaming rig.. told my dad about it, and suddenly he said that he has his own custom gaming rig back in the days and it is at his office.. he just brought it back home. I didnt open it up yet, since it was never used since the 90s (or 2000) but it was left for quite a long time. He said he spend thousands on it, and most expensive was on the motherboard itself. he say in that time that motherboard was the best and big and very expensive (thats what he told me la) i will open it later and myb post photos too.. but i wanna ask whether a long not used pc and trying to revive it back by just adding a newer PSU, newer CPU and a graphic card and a bigger HDD is it possible?? even tho its an old motherboard?? and is it possible for the mobo to be damaged too for long time never use or still can revive one?

Also is there such casing for PC called CARII Multimedia Computer System??
This casing is possibly the futuristic-ish (alienware-ish) kind of design back in the days.. and it also has a floppy disk slot LOL o.o
So yeah thanks for helping biggrin.gif

you'll need to post the specs 1st. And also if it's a 1990s pc . I don't think can upgrade much on it  sweat.gif
*
Im not sure I know much about the specs.. I will open the casing later.. and try to read what brand is the mobo all. As Im still new to PC, I dont think I'll know much and even know where to read the brand and model of the mobo and stuff. LOL. But I'll try snap photo of it.

Added on September 21, 2012, 10:55 pmhelp I've reach the mobo, and now I dont know how to open the fan that sits on top the CPU. LOL sorry tongue.gif okay finally I've disassembled all wires and units including power supply.. just left the motherboard, some ethernet cable card and display card connected to the motherboard, and the motherboard is still connected to the casing. but its already naked to the core most of it. Tried to checked the CPU but the words on it kinda lost?? Idk how to explain like theres no more words on it, except the fan on top of the CPU is intel, and on the power supply theres a sticker intel pentium 4 so maybe thats the cpu but none the less heres the photo. Now gimme tips on how to check the motherboard brand and model lol icon_question.gif

Added on September 21, 2012, 11:49 pmis there any possible way to upload photo here sleep.gif I'll tweet it, I'll give a link to the tweeted photo, thanks

You're budget is pretty limited. Don't think you can reuse any of the parts. Better just sell them off.
I3 2100 RM339
WD caviar blue 500GB RM194
Msi H61 board RM149
4GB x 1 DDR3 Ram RM60
DVD-rw (if got from previous reuse it )
Sapphire 7750 1GB RM340
Fsp hexa 500w RM149 (What's the current psu you have with you ?)
Gigabyte GZ chassis RM59
Total RM1290
Assuming you sell off the previous parts you should be able to get all this . I'm not pretty sure about playing in high settings though sweat.gif
*
PSU it says "Switching Power Supply" as the title, sticker next to it Ever Lasting and Intel Pentium 4, AC input volt (115V 230V ~) Current ( 8A 4A) Frequency ( 50-60hz)
thats all... Lol
And can explain ah why AMD is not good then Intel.. there was this one mod who replied giving me a photo of all cpus and have this green bar and blue bar i dont understand lol. Lets say a A6 3500 2.1ghz so its 3x right because its triple core?? Shouldnt it be better in performance lol sorry still new tongue.gif hohoho
