while waiting for value added responses, that would likely be considered as cash advanced.

Thanks for sharing. I find it nonsense for this bank to ask customer to deposit FD just to get a credit card. Some more cannot withdraw as long as the card is active.

I personally think better to opt for other bank if they make such a nonsense request. Again this alliance never stop surprise me with all kind of ridiculous request by multiple different people from the forum.

Anyway thanks again for the sharing

nothing nonsense about it

it's the bank not willing to offer the credit line to you. that's all.

pledging FD is just as collateral, and the credit line is 1:1 to your pledged fd amount.

yes, can go for other banks and try your luck. but not all banks offer the same credit card benefits though.

nevertheless, up to the user to decide which is worth it.

there is nothing nonsense about it.

only nonsense is some banks don't even accept FD as collateral to apply cc.

purely stupid way to reject more business opportunity.

I bet to differ. So far my experience with other bank like hsbc, public bank, standard chartered, Citibank, Aeon credit (already cancelled), ambank, affin never once they ask for pledging fd collateral.

Some of them even have higher income requirement than alliance bank card. N I can said benefit wise majority of them is better than alliance based on my personal experience.

If just applying for a simple credit card also ask for fd as collateral and cannot withdraw some more then what is the purpose of having that particular credit card.

Accessibility, customer service and even application hassle is much worst than the peer at least compare to the above bank that I have experience with.

Just my 2 cent I think it overall cannot compete and make it worst they make the application process complicated. If no improvement done, perhaps the market share with get even smaller

Again I don't agree. By asking for fd pledge is basically reject business opportunity. The fd pledge is nonsense as if fd pledge is needed then why apply for credit card.

If fd pledge is needed then better just use a Debit card. Some more with debit card the balance can withdraw anytime and more flexible.

Unless you are mentioning on installment where most bank are offering it nowadays and the other bank got more partner merchant with 0% installment compared to alliance.

From bank that I have experience with, the application process is smooth and not so complicate. Only in alliance forum that I heard all sort of weird request by bank itself. You can cross check different sub forum then you will know why I said this bank is weird in it way.

As I asked cs and she said all retail and online even for gov organizations is eligible for cb. But on the cc site doesn’t specify if online utilities/insurance is eligible. Hoping someone can help me out on this sad.gif

Alliance bank probably offers the least credit limit compared to all other banks I applied to last time.

since the latest benefit of 8x is capped to 3k wallet topup, it probably makes no point to request for a higher credit limit...

If we want to use the alliance cc RM1 to earn 1 point, it will only give the cashback value of 0.0016%, nearly worth nothing...

Means you have shit credit rating to that particular bank. The bank don't trust you and think you're a fraud. So if you die die wanna apply their CC, pledge FD lo.

Also there are people like housewife who doesn't have income document. So they have no choice but to pledge FD to get credit card.

I won't apply for the credit card if they ask for such a nonsense request. The reason I said alliance is weird is partly due to my personal experience.

First time I receive a feedback from bank mentioning employee check failed and company is not listed when I apply for credit card.

The girl handling my documents ask me to do screen share or go to branch instead for the application then I choose not to proceed cos too much of hassle especially when their branch so limited and the screen share request is nonsense.

Then I go through the forum curious on what other experience. From here I read someone else experience are weird also and not just a few cases.

Till now I still remember the girl handling my application online told me their credit department is "weird and maybe got their own sop". The girl also surprised that their credit department "company not listed". From the conversation I feel like it is happen quite often.

If not because pb visa signature n quantum master stop giving 6 & 5% cash back for ewallet then I won't even bother with alliance credit card. At first I thought is any spending 5% then go for application and at the end decide not to proceed due to the bad experience.

Afterware I aware 5% is for spending from 2 to 3k which equal to only roughly 1.67% cash back. I think it is blessing in disguise that the application didn't go through as the benefit is not what I expected.

Affin duo is much better in the sense where they give 3%. Pbb wise although no more CB for e wallet but their benefit quite good and on and off got some campaign with good cashback. That's y I am keeping their quantum master, visa and visa signature.

Other card I am having now is Citibank for lazada, hsbc visa signature. Standard chartered jop and Liverpool initially used to ewallet cash back but since the revision of benefit, it is not that good anymore but I am still keeping as they waive for the annual fee and give some retention program when I ask to cancel.

Out of so many bank I experience with on credit card, alliance is the 1 with most ridiculous feedback & request. Another bad experience is aeon platinum master card where I was charged annual fee and then the staff said cannot waived so I ask to proceed for cancellation.

Afterward I didn't aware that they didn't cut my card and every month charge management fee on outstanding of annual fee. I didn't aware at first but when I notice it then I check back and notice they waived the sst but not annual fee. Upon follow up with them, they keep dragging and reluctant to proceed for cancellation.

Then only when I told them will bring to bank negara if issues didn't settle as I already given them clear instruction to cancel. Only then they finally proceed for cancellation and waive all those annual fee and the interest they charged on it.

Aeon wise is indeed a bad experience but not weird as per what I experience with alliance. I think I am not the only 1 and u will see all kind of weird experience from other user if u look back on the previous post.

Did u read my text? I think I mentioned clearly that I decided not to proceed as I find the thing they ask and the way they act is weird.

Are you staff or what? Just sharing my personal experience as you replied my post previously.

Yes I did move on but interestingly I am amazed by the special experience highlighted by other forum user so I on and off look at the forum seeing whether will they amazed me again or not.

I am replying only when I saw the new weird request (according to my own standard) from alliance highlighted by user. Lol, don't be so fired up I just look at it as a source of joke.
