QUOTE(stormaker @ Aug 28 2012, 03:57 PM) im using leadtek gtx670 which is on reference design, my idle is same as urs 37, but max load can reach 83 83C on max load for a reference card is pretty normal. A 670 PE on the other hand has excellent temp profile, but at the expense of louder fans, according to reviews. But to be honest, i barely hear anything louder than my single F12 PWM casing fan (exhaust). My PE running at stock non-OC speeds with auto fan settings, idle = 35C, max = 69C (running BF3). |

more fans doesn't mean better cooling, u have to pick the right fans and install them at the right air flow direction

Cuz in my setup, x3 200mm fans, even with high setting they dont make noise at all. is it coz of the low rpm of the fans? This post has been edited by zerohunter: Aug 29 2012, 02:48 PM |

QUOTE(stormaker @ Aug 28 2012, 04:07 PM) nice temp u guys have there, i'll try to invest more on the chassis cooling then ... more n more fans ... A reference 670 uses a centrifugal fan (aka blower) that directly expels out the hot air (from cooling the GPU) from your casing. So i guess adding more chassis fans wouldn't help much. A typical two fan setup, one as intake, and one as exhaust should be enough.Non-reference design usually does not expel all the hot air out from the casing. There are some that retains inside the casing, so good casing ventilation is important. |

shiat after switching to full HD 1080 24" monitor, the 680 performance is still strong with 50+- fps in battlefield 3.

ASUS ROG MARS III Dual GTX 680 PCB Pictured
QUOTE ASUS' Republic of Gamers MARS III dual-GeForce GTX 680 graphics card may have been extensively covered at this year's Computex event, but very few have had a peek at its innards (PCB). Expreview posted pictures of the card's PCB, sourced from the manufacturer. The pictures reveal an unusually long and tall PCB, which draws power from three 8-pin PCIe power connectors, a 21-phase VRM that uses Super Alloy chokes and driver-MOSFETs, PLX PEX8747 PCI-Express 3.0 x48 bridge chip, and of course the two GK104 GPUs with a total of 32 individual GDDR5 memory chips (16 for each GPU, 16 on each side of the PCB) wired to them, totaling 8 GB of memory. We received an update from ASUS, clarifying that this card will not be released. The design was only displayed during a factory tour, to show ASUS craftmanship. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « http://www.techpowerup.com/171202/ASUS-ROG...B-Pictured.html http://www.expreview.com/20968.html |

QUOTE(Alfsaw @ Aug 28 2012, 03:03 PM) PE stable OC at 1340mhz? Highest Ive tried for mine is 1350mhz, scared to go higher though i know its possible. card clock speed dosent matter for oc anymore, oc-ing is slightly different now. Most important is the kepler boost as your card wont be running whatever mhz you think you set it. Will surely run higher than that.QUOTE(law1777 @ Aug 28 2012, 04:09 PM) nope, there are silent fans out there too & like what zerohunter said...the flow is very important too.QUOTE(rav3n82 @ Aug 28 2012, 04:17 PM) A reference 670 uses a centrifugal fan (aka blower) that directly expels out the hot air (from cooling the GPU) from your casing. Those corsair watercooling cpu will go well with reference design gpu. Non-reference design usually does not expel all the hot air out from the casing. Added on August 28, 2012, 5:59 pmwhat! the new driver decreased my heaven benchmark score! will confirm this during the weekends to figure out why different scores and do more benchmark testing.. Peeps, i need some suggestion regarding 660ti.
Which one is better between these two - Asus GTX 660Ti DCII TOP or Gigabyte GTX 660Ti OC Version? Just throw out some suggestions so i can decide. Thanks. |
