Even a 2 generation old mid-end card GTX 460 still can play most of the latest games fine. Of cos we might probably need to lower the eye candies settings (AA, AF). I believe a 670 should serve you well couple of years down the road.

What about black ops 2? I am planning to buy it. Does the GTX 670 works fine in multiplayer games like battlefield 3 multiplayer etc.

gtx 670 can go ultra setting for bf3 in multiplayer. bf3 is one of the gpu demanding games ady.
i think even black ops 2 can be played at max setting with gtx 670

I can guarantee that gtx 670 will be laughing at black Ops 2 lol since that game sure not demanding. Even if you play on 3 screens also shouldn't have any lag.

IINM, cod:bo2 still using a redefined old engine.

really that good gtx 670, will not regret keep money for this ?

You can just go with the Leadtek GTX 670, RM1129. The best-bang-for-buck 670 out there.

can't imagine that nowadays i need to spend 1 k above for the gpu ++

Ya, it's still quite expensive. I guess maybe you can also wait for the prices of GTX 660 Ti to go down first? The Leadtek one also seems cheaper.

Rule no.1: Define your budget first, then buy a graphic card within that budget.

Never add extra just because the graphic card is faster than another (well if its less then rm50 i guess its an exception). Technology & games are keep improving fast, today you bought something awesome...in couple of months something better will come out that outperforms your card & more demanding games will be out and they cycle will continue. So you cant compare today's technology with future, but most of the games can adjust settings, so if more demanding game comes out later you can still play it by adjusting the settings.

I also like you before, i overspent my budget & got a gtx 670. Although its a powerful card but now i dont have enough money to watercool my rig...need to wait till next year

Nope, it only happened with my stock Galaxy GTX 680.

so i guess RSOD only occur if we install the SoftOSD software...

LOL, i've never figured what it does anyway. Simple rule, if you don't miss it, means the software is not needed at all.

Don't have to. Whenever you're buying anything, ask yourself two questions :

1. Do I really want it?
2. Am I willing to pay that much for it?

If it's a yes to both, get it. Hesitate on either one, no go. If you're dead set on something, nothing can stop you, regardless whether affordable or not, a waste or otherwise. I would never have imagined paying anything above RM1k for a GPU, but since end of last year I had it in my mind and finally did it...

haha looking at all your advice, reminds me of how the shop guys consult me why buying gtx690 is just unnecessary... very responsible sales I will say.
