hello guys.

i have a prob.. my graphic card is installed upside down, meaning with the fan facing downwards. and recently the fan fell out of the heatsink and broke.

i would like to find a replacement for it, and finding a cooler that come with fan which is not glued to the heatsink (with casing or screws).

any suggestions? coolviva that u all mention in the early pages is not coolviva pro right? is coolviva pro also lousy?

er the fan was glued on to the heatsink, with 4 dots of black colored glue. and my stuipd dell dimension 4700 make the G card have to be installed upside down, with the fan facing downwards. so as time goes by and with constant vibration of the fan... the glue not sticky liao the fan drop n broke a fin. lol

what do you mean 'upside down'?
normal ATX casing can only let you install the graphic card with cooler facing downward.

er normal ATX all the fan face down de a? i tot dell stupid oni hehe.

the fan, with some soldered temperature sensor, was stick to the middle part of the heatsink. So both of them fell down.

The blade hit the base of PC casing( the location very near to ground) and 1 of the blades broke.

The card is colorful 8600UE. The heatsink look something like zalman VF700 but not zalman la. Since got this kinda problem already, i would like to find cooler the have the fan securely fixed onto the heat sink, preferably with casing like the CM coolviva pro. But like a lot ppl say it no good.. budget around 100 oni lo.

The card here

@mcmicheal

It's about RM60 at the LYP shop ... C-Zone if not mistaken ..

but no need to buy one just get a 9 to 12cm fan and placed right from the front to blow air through the card and exhaust through the rear end ..

that would be just brilliant enough ...

Just wondering, can we install the S1 the other way around like TR HR03 in a normal ATX case? I mean, have the fins at the back of the GC. tongue.gif

What is the easiest and effective way to clean the stock heatsink of Geforce 8800GTS 640mb? Should be stuck with alot of dust by now. Should i blow compressed air from the exhaust and hope the dust clears from the intake fan area, or should i blow from intake and hope the dust comes out from the exhaust?
