Hey guys,

Just wondering, have one of you guys tried CM Coolviva Pro? Going to get it somewhere next week.

Want my opinion?
I'd say no if i were you.

Check that heatsink properly and you'll understand.

All those 3rd party VGA heatsinks that incorporate both memory & gpu cooler in one heatsink is a "no-no".

Why?
Because this will result to the memory heat to be transferred to the GPU which will result to worse temperature compared to stock heatsink that cools the GPU separately with memory.

My opinion, don't buy that VGA Cooler. smile.gif

Btw, do you mean Artic Silencers were bad too since the heatsink cools both GPU and Memory? I doubt it.
The memory chips aren't really that hot to bring up the GPU's temp
*
Yes.

Silencers X1 and X2 were BAD.
How do i know?
Because i've tested both of them before.

And after switching those coolers to other 3rd party coolers, the other 3rd party coolers performs much much better than the Silencer X1 & X2 doh.gif

I don't just talk, i talk with experience. smile.gif

Well, my bad for saying that the new coolviva is using the same principal as the silencer X1 and X2. blush.gif
Because the new coolviva looks exactly the same like the silencer X1 and X2. laugh.gif

But still, my opinion on the X1 and X2 is bad won't change, they sucks, sucks very very much. shakehead.gif

No, they dont suck, at least better than the stock cooler.
At the post before, you said they were worse than stock cooler, that is just plain rubbish.
*
Better?
If you're talking about silent, yes, they win.

But if you're talking about cooling performance?
No, they sucks!

I've tried it on my X1800XL & my 7900GT before.
Even if the stock heatsink is more noisy, but with the stock heatsink being so small, the temperatures after switching to X1 & X2 is worse than the stock heatsink!!!

The X1 & X2 only wins on it's silent performance, cooling performance, they suck!

It's up to you either to believe it or not, but to me, they suck!

Dude, think of one thing, i'm a seller of Arctic Cooling Heatsinks, and next week, i'll be putting the X1 & X2 in that sales too.

Think why i've been condenming them when i'm going to sell it? laugh.gif
It's because it's the truth. smile.gif

To me, their performance are no better than the stock heatsink, yes they only have a plus point in being a very silent heatsink, but on cooling performance, it's a no-no. shakehead.gif

hope that arctic silencer can come out with a model that fits 8600... and sucks out hot air too
*
I believe u're talking about the Silencer S1 & S2. No?
Well, for now, The S2 does not support those new G80 series, as S2 is the only one that is officially launched by Arctic Cooling. smile.gif

We don't know about the S1 yet. hmm.gif

And it depends on what type of TIM you use too.
If you use those chapalang white thermal paste, you won't notice any differences, and it may be giving u a lower performance than the stock heatsink. wink.gif

hr-03 plus should be better performing i guess..since this v2 not as large n not as many heatpipe as hr-03 plus..

the price surely be lower than hr-03 plus..this will be interesting  brows.gif
*
About the price, i don't really think that the V2 should be lower than HR-03 Plus as the V2 is in full copper. sweat.gif

Try comparing the price of a new XP90 & XP90C.
XP90C price is really higher than the XP90 sweat.gif

IMHO, if paired with fans, i think the V2 would perform better
*
IMO, you need one of hell fast fan.
We all know that copper need high CFM to blow the heat away from full copper heatsinks right? hmm.gif

As copper dissipates heats slower than aluminium.
[Much much slower. tongue.gif ]

Just wait for it. Until now, those 8800series only have limited choices as well...
*
True.. True.. nod.gif
There's only three GPU heatsink available for 8800 series nowadays.

And none of this three heatsink were said to be compatible with HD2900XT series. laugh.gif

One is Thermalright HR-03 Plus [The best so far]
- Aluminium Fins With Copper Heatpipes & Copper Base

One is Thermalright V2 [Unreleased]
- Fully Copper

One is Zalman VF-1000 [Unreleased]
- Aluminium Fins With Copper Heatpipes & Copper Base

So this Thermalright HR-03 Plus is able to do so for 8800GTS??

Any forummers here are bulking this stuff?? brows.gif

*What do you mean with unreleased there?? Not yet released??
*
Yes, the HR-03 Plus is built for the G80 Cards. [G80 = 8800GTX & 8800GTS]

You want it?
Go for bulk section and look for hwoarang45.

He's bulking it.

Unreleased means it's not released yet.

**Owh, by the way, don't be shocked when you see the price of the HR-03 Plus. tongue.gif

Lol..With it being the only one out there so far, of course the price is going to be  rclxub.gif
*
Wrong.
Check out the number of heatpipes, the design, the fins, the accessories, then you'll understand why the HR-03 Plus is priced like that.

Thermalright has always been the best cooling solution, it's just a matter of how you appreciate their work. wink.gif

two fan for 6heatpipes..
*
The hell you're talking about 6 heatpipes? sweat.gif
There's only 2 heatpipes la.

Manada 6 heatpipes. sweat.gif

This DualOrb gotta be the cheapest heatsink for 8800 series.
Becuase if it's not, then it's not worth it to get it, might as well put some extras and buy HR-03 Plus.

But i got my seventh sense that thermaltake will put a ridiculous price on this heatsink. laugh.gif
It's thermaltake, what do you expect? laugh.gif

is going damn hot around ~70+ deg..

There's only one VGA cooler that can fit nVidia 8800 series that is already in the market.
And that is Thermalright HR-03 Plus.

You will be shocked with the price though.

The other VGA cooler that were made to fit nVidia 8800 series is still unreleased.
