QUOTE(Jordy @ Aug 11 2014, 07:57 PM) cutepet, Hoe did you come out with the 4% return figure? Have you included the distribution reinvestments into the calculation? I request agent to send me the calculation lo... to be exact, is 4.08%I think its 2014 bad performance eat up its previous year profit... PUblic focus select fund.. PUblic focus vs public dividend select ? Which is better ? (actually, I switch fr Public dividend to Public focus previously)

Hi, I just bought a unit trust fund from PBB.
Since I will always be busy with work, is it advisable to just leave my units as it? without buying and selling units?
Will it still give favourable return?
I only hope for returns slightly higher than FD rate

Sounds good. Cos the funds is more towards capital preservation. I intend to just keep it till more than 10 years la As I am still quite new to investing, just wondering where do you guys normally read up for investing information?

QUOTE(cutepet @ Aug 11 2014, 09:58 AM) I invested PUblic Focus select fund a few years ago. The fund perform terribly... Any fund advice to switch ? I accept moderate to high risk, but expect reasonable good return (15+% annually, not 4+% after a few years ) Thanks UPDATE ! After seeing the actual figures. Actually, the 4% RETURN is illusional... without taking into account the 5.5%+ (about 6%) management fees. If include that, is -2%.

Public Mutual's performance can't really match the performance of the other fund houses these days and the sales charges are only 2%. 1% if on discount.

QUOTE(gengster @ Aug 20 2014, 02:54 PM) Hi guys,i have a question...im previously pb unit trust agent but my membership already expired since 2012 due to not active. Can i still renew it as i plan to start again? If yes can I change my upline?hope someone can help me Yes, you can change the upline after 12 months of termination. Your FIMM CUTE allow to re-contract within 36 months of termination without re-sit CUTE (Exam). After 36 months, then you are required to re-sit the CUTE before re-contract as UTC. Ping me if you are based in Penang.

its hard to invest via EPF right now. Government seems to tighten the condition for EPF withdrawal.
