Fixed IP : 13 for RM800

PRO:[/b]
1) Unlimited Quota (stated clearly)
2) Best RG by far. Dlink Gigabit wifi router with voip (outside cannot buy!)
user posted image
3) Min 24 months contract. Promo price stay as long as not terminated. (by that time got better deal edi la)

CON:
1) may not allow residential installation, maybe SOHO can
2) no iptv
3) Only wired analog phone for voip given and colour is cheesy
user posted image
4) no free calls
5) Weird T&C*: To continue enjoying fiber internet promo price through contract period, P1 voice line must be active with bare minimum of one (1) call per month/bill cycle - to any number, on any call duration.

it is weird about this, if check on tm, area is under coverage, but didn't show up in P1, although as expected saying where got TM coverage, then sure can subscribe.

I also noticed this, been getting very confused & mixed responses .....

After the recent Maxis's promo (which I didn't apply), suddenly saw the P1 ForBizFiber the RM99/mth UNLIMITED QUOTE offer, confirmed can install at my house (through company registration) drool.gif

So I started to ask them about this is FUP/cap statement, called customer support, they said it's P1 mistake forget to amend, I ask for black & white confirmation but until now still no confirmation ..... sad.gif

The best part it's the P1 reseller, emailed me tons of internal emails & small fine-print to read .... never mind that, even I print-screen & pointed to him, he still said it's unlimited quota but subject to FUP/cap ... rclxub.gif ...

Damn confused over P1's definition of Unlimited Quota but subject to FUP/cap ... sweat.gif doh.gif

Anywhere, until I get written confirmation, I'll continue to hold or even cancel the order (if got FUP/cap) ....

P1 Fiber & Maxis Fiber all = Unifi
They are selling Unifi regard as their own.
Not just the backbone = Unifi, but the line, cable, technical all is Unifi
All is Unifi, just they put different brand.
Please take notes: P1 Fiber & Maxis Fiber just a reseller of Unifi
Just the price cheaper then Unifi, & no IPTV that's all

I cancelled maxis and registered P1 yesterday.
previously with streamyx 1mb paying rm110 a month.

let's put this on the table about FUP.
1) unifi, P1 and maxis also got FUP, no throttle on torrent yet.
2) streamyx got no FUP, but they throttled torrent to 20kbps

scared of maxis's so many problems, routers, disconnection, hijack etc etc
looking at this,
NOTHING will be worse than maxis.

Hi Boss
I am quite interestd in the P1 FTTH plan! but are you sure non-biz can sign up the above plan too?? I try to find from the P1 site but can't find anything that say the above plan also offer to non-biz!!! even the register for interest also require put in biz name and number of employees!! hmm.gif Will there be any adverse consequences if P1 later found out I am not a biz user but home user instead! any penalty or something ?? sweat.gif

The Unifi currently come to my area as I saw a BIG banner hanging outside my taman ("Unifi Is Here"), but upon checking with the TM website, it only cover the lorong facing the main road. But when I wrote to Maxis, they came back and said my house is covered! I am quite confuse now, is my house cover or not! I wouldn't want the contractor come to my house dig here and dig there and later said : sorry Encik, can't do or Encik; you kena pay extra to extend the line or something like that!! rclxub.gif

Another thing, I saw the P1 in the website said the 5Mbps or 20Mbps is only on BEST try basis, I always thought that only apply to wireless broadband? is fixed fibre optic line also subject to THAT restriction as well?? shocking.gif

Want to know what brand or model P1 is supplying for their home gateway router.

In their site it looks like the DLink Starhub is using in Singapore that comes with RJ-11 phone ports for VoIP?

Also I saw or remember P1 is supplying analogue wired phones with their business packages to save cost?

Still no update from TM+P1 since Saturday .... doh.gif

Unlike new subscriber, mine is a bit "unusual" (according to TM) since I still want to maintain my VIP5 package (for time being). So basically my setup need to be like this:
HG850a --port1--> UniFi-VIP5 (vlan.500 & 600)
HG850a --port2--> P1-ForBiz (vlan.622 & 920)

The TM's contractor unable to configure the above on-site, they said they need to get TM tech team to do it.... sweat.gif

I'm not quite sure whether mine setup is really that "unsual", I believe there could be companies/users out there using multiple ISP on same fiber/BTU, I think it's either the contractor really don't know how to do it, or TM/P1 still haven't finalise backend arrangement ..... rclxub.gif

Anyway, managed to "connect" & did some initial speed test brows.gif :

i called up, but the reply is:

Answer: even ur area is under unifi coverage, and got ssm registration. but still SUBJECT TO TM AVAILABILITY OF PORT.

then i ask - is that mean got unused port than ok right?

Answer: no, it is TM decision to open the port to the LOT NO. OF THE ADDRESS. ie. restrict to certain block only.

i let her check my lot No.

Answer: sorry, your lot number is no available, TM open up to Lot XX only!

SO how can this happen? result of backbone monopoly?

Well, I'll certainly be keeping a close eye on this thread. I too was considering Maxis FTTH, but decided to wait. Looking at the issues on the FTTH thread, I'm glad I did. Now with P1 and Time offering great deals on their packages, it looks like it's almost time to pick a new package.

Anyone know when this P1 "limited time offer" ends?

installation complete, so far speedtest is very unstable and so far can only get max 10mbps. technician took note of this and said will come fix it later. the line is generally quite unusable... so i have not added it to our load balancer. there's alot of packet loss, ping is over 800ms, etc.

That is unfortunate.
Please update if they manage to fix your connection.
traceroute to ohbulan.com should not be more than 30ms all 12 hops.

to be honest,
fault before installation is fine, not after.

the things I am not happy with P1.
1) ip is renewed every 1-2 days. compared with maxis every 2-3 days.
ip is static with streamyx and unifi unless manual reset.

No reason to renew the ip so often, unless P1/Maxis has limited ip addresses.
Potential problem, processes might be interrupted during the ip renewal.

2)admin access to router solved, thanks to"lucaswjk"

other than that, so far so good.
on 24/7 day 8

congrats.
mine highrise vdsl, ping 20-30ms
torrent is not throttled. max 580kbps

some questions if you dont mind.

1) highrise/lowrise?
(maybe different router config)

2) dlink router
setup page: do you see internet setup/voip setup page?
(wanna know whether they flashed the firmware)

3) dlink router
status page: Wan1 ip and default gateway same or different?
check whether there is a private/public ip system like maxis.

Try to monitor:
whether ip address change every 1-2 days even when router is not reset or not.
(wanna know how often they renew the ip)

Thanks

i am missing the internet and voip setup page
meaning I am unable to change the pppoe username and pw
is there a higher level password to use?
I use the default admin pw admin123 before changing it.

my ip changes every 1-2 days, only the last set of digits though.
eg 42.111.222.34 become 42.111.222.123/42.111.222.154 etc
default gateway remain the same 42.111.222.1
does that mean I am on private ip?

thanks

ip renew/change too often for my liking, but only the last 3 digits.
how to check whether public/private?
torrent full speed without port forwarding.

yes, successfully login with the password you provided.
thanks a bunch. notworthy.gif

the dlink router has 2 level of security, as seen from the maintenance page.
admin level where you can change pppoe password
and user level (default admin/admin123, missing pppoe/voip setup page).

gotta love this dlink router, wub.gif
wish it has bandwidth control/qos.

how to check whether public/private?
torrent full speed without port forwarding.

yes, successfully login with the password you provided.
thanks a bunch. notworthy.gif

the dlink router has 2 level of security, as seen from the maintenance page.
admin level where you can change pppoe password
and user level (default admin/admin123, missing pppoe/voip setup page).

gotta love this dlink router, wub.gif
wish it has bandwidth control/qos.

haha glad that the user id and password works...
now u can share it on the front page~

try google 'what is my ip'... and google will tell u your public ip

if u need qos, u need to adopt linux router, try openwrt, ddwrt, microtik
and they support l7 protocol

installation complete, so far speedtest is very unstable and so far can only get max 10mbps. technician took note of this and said will come fix it later. the line is generally quite unusable... so i have not added it to our load balancer. there's alot of packet loss, ping is over 800ms, etc.

from other thread, you have maxis biz too? did they offer the P1 service off the same BTU? or use new separate copper? If use same copper, that could be a problem...

congrats.
mine highrise vdsl, ping 20-30ms
torrent is not throttled. max 580kbps

some questions if you dont mind.

1) highrise/lowrise?
(maybe different router config)

2) dlink router
setup page: do you see internet setup/voip setup page?
(wanna know whether they flashed the firmware)

3) dlink router
status page: Wan1 ip and default gateway same or different?
check whether there is a private/public ip system like maxis.

Try to monitor:
whether ip address change every 1-2 days even when router is not reset or not.
(wanna know how often they renew the ip)

Thanks
*
If it's 42.x range, must be public IP. I don't think P1 would give private IP for a biz package, biz customers would be pissed. The routing to IX should be better too than home packages..

any speedtest screenshot to show?
anything exciting so far?

Problematic installation so far:
1) the most exciting installation and experience is from paultantk
line unusable, high ping. installation not completed yet.
2) klseet installation not updated in his blog.
3) csn with P1 software problem (no update)

TM & P1 contractor both consider arrived on time. After they do a site survey (landed property), installation start at around 11AM & completed at around 01:00PM.

So far didn't have any exciting issue. Like u said, quite boring actually tongue.gif low ping, speed range still acceptable for me since i not really a heavy user. Quite happy with their high end D-Link router. gonna speed sometime to figure it out.

no they are running the p1 service off a new BTU, running on a separate copper pair. now my server rack got all kinds of BTU inside already... 2 from HSBB (maxis bizfiber and p1 forbiz fiber), 1 from time adsl, lol.

i got public ip, but it's dynamic ip.

the wifi router looks very solid and its got decent weight... and huge antennas. but i disabled wifi in the modem as all my available WAN connects to a pfsense router, then only goes to wifi access point.

they try to earn your commission~~ hehe

but very unlikely, coz us malaysian hv very laid back culture
they wont try to push for sales so aggressively

note: if your address come out in the web page as available,
then u need to call cs to guide / proof to them that your area is available.
please mention unifi tactic oso, mayb this will help.

did the p1 cs mentioned your 'LOT NUMBER' is covered by P1

my case also, the street is covered by TM, but was told your LOT NUMBER not covered.

it is not question of port full or empty, the CS also told it is TM power that 'not opening all port' for all, limited for p1.

SOS KICAP P1

PRO:

1) Unlimited Quota (stated clearly)
2) Best RG by far. Dlink Gigabit wifi router with voip (outside cannot buy!)
user posted image
3) Min 24 months contract. Promo price stay as long as not terminated. (by that time got better deal edi la)

CON:
1) may not allow residential installation, maybe SOHO can
2) no iptv
3) Only wired analog phone for voip given and colour is cheesy
user posted image
4) no free calls
5) Weird T&C*: To continue enjoying fiber internet promo price through contract period, P1 voice line must be active with bare minimum of one (1) call per month/bill cycle - to any number, on any call duration.

if u wan to make it big then yeah impact might be big
but normally no ppl care .. i guess

well, if not mistaken you might get disconnected for a while as you got to reassign a new ip by isp
so maybe some frames not going to transmit if you are streaming the cam feed

FINALLY, after 1.5 month, 3 installation (2 failed), total 10xTM installers/staff, numerous calls/complaints/hours, 1xCFM letter, 1xTM letter to P1 .... then only I get my P1 Fiber ForBiz sweat.gif sweat.gif

Somemore there is NO new fiber line installation & NO change of BTU for me as an existing UniFi user, and I have to go through all these nonsense bloodly journey with TM ...... shakehead.gif doh.gif

Obviously, TM is the main culprit in my case, they could have done it remotely without the need to deploy anyone on site for any existing UniFi user.... doh.gif .....

Anyway, just move-on, now I'm running both UniFi+P1 through RB750:
Attached Image

After some struggling work last nigth (I'm not expert in this) sweat.gif , managed to get both WAN running:
Attached Image

But definitely the dual-internet is still not perfect, am still struggling to research/fine-tune .... sweat.gif

Generally at this moment, both the internet lines speed seem to be the same, I do notice the P1 has slighly higher ping than UniFi, but it's very minimal in my case.

Btw, to use own router and make the P1 stock RG act as VoIP only (vlan.920) per above diagram, need to setup as follows:
Attached Image
I've just tested it on my RB750 vlan.920 bridging to P1 RG, the VoIP works! nod.gif

Actually I'm thinking whether can do away the stock RG completely, wanted to test the VoIP on my Yealink SIP-T20
however P1 didn't provide my SIP account details during installation, so I called P1 to request, now waiting for them to provide .....

That's all my experience sharing now, enjoy P1 folks! icon_rolleyes.gif

dynamic ip gets renewed every 1-2 days,
still unsure at what time and exact frequency,

has not impacted my internet experience but
would prefer a longer lease

It happened 1 hour after I slept around 2am, during that time I think my network also don't have much remote activities.

Mine is P1 ForBiz package, eventhough it's dynamic IP, it's very strange why P1 want to renew it that frequent.

I'm still monitoring, may test running some remote network activities persistentl to see whether it will force renew.

If really P1 force to renew the IP even I have business transaction with remote, I'll be a angry man, yet again ! mad.gif cool2.gif

FYI,
Maxis FTTH renews their dynamic ip every 48 hours.
P1 FiberBiz every 1-2 days

Reasons I can think of,
1) ip pool is small, need to free up unused ips
(not a valid reason, oversell results in connection problems during peak hours)

2) default server dhcp settings
(some default 24 hours, some 7 days, some forever lease depending on brand)

a simple tweak to their server dhcp lease time will fix it.
nobody complain, so nothing done.

what "IDEAL" lease duration should be,
it depends on how the short disconnections are going to affect usage.
Maybe 3/7/14/30/forever days??....(I oso dunno)

I would appreciate if you could lodge a complain to fix this if necessary.
You have the experience dealing with them thru proper channel.

Thanks.

sidenote: depending on usage:
some users actually prefer the daily renew of ips.
some streamyx/unifi users will actually manually reset their routers to get fresh ips.

PRO
some believe certain ip are faster than the others.
more difficult to track your ip for 114a and prawn downloaders.
can register new account if banned in LYN by simply clearing cookies
etc

CON
renewing ips are actually short disconnections.
short disconnections is a problem when situations does not favour them eg cctv, direct downloads, banking etc
etc

I checked and confirmed.
It is a 24hours lease.

If yours is at 3.15am, it will renew at the same time everyday.
If you manual reset at 5pm, then it will be 5pm everyday
etc etc

Give them some time.
most of the delay is waiting for appointment date from TM's technician.

so far I am satisfied with their response time.

it will be too late to cancel your unifi installation tomorrow.

P1 and Maxis has to wait for TM technician to go together for installation.
It may be longer than usual.

renewing of ips take seconds rather than minutes.

P1 needs to get their international capacity increase to accommodate their new fibre subscribers. Though they got their CPE and strong marketing right this time, they're lacking in their gateway capacity. I mean very lacking until WIMAX customers are often complaining of extreme slowdowns during peak hours.

Update:
Set the 24hours renewal ip to the time you desired.
At the time you want, do a hard reset,
soft reset connect/disconnect via dlink interface doesn't work so far.

How I found out? Coincidently,
Electricity outage at 10pm one night and the ip is renewed 10pm every night ever since.

Off both dlink and tm modem.
On tm modem
On dlink.
Done.

Note:
Still monitoring the time and duration of the exact time ip is renewed.
Please let everybody know if this P1 24 hours lease poses any problem to everyday task.

thus using tm modem/btu

I'm done with P1 Fiber and I'm terminating it:

After using it for 1 week and also complaining/yelling/screaming for 1 week, P1 simply never bother to response.... doh.gif doh.gif

In summary, I cannot stand with the daily force IP renewal nuisance mad.gif
P1 did not inform me on such annoying daily interruption when I sign-up P1 Fiber ForBiz shakehead.gif

The other key reason is that P1 refused to provide my SIP account detail, I can't configure on my own VoIP phone mad.gif

Guess I'll have to look for other alternatives .....

If I do not have unifi yet, and subscribe for P1, do P1 need to wait for TM techies? Means less waiting time than those reported.

P1 is new, it is expected to have issues. But so many complaints, and daily IP renewal, I do not know I will bother by it or not yet; I already don't know to which one to choose: TM VIP 5 / VIP 10 / BIZ 5 or this P1 deals. sad.gif

Maybe the cheap RM99 Fibre Business deal by P1 was actually catered towards SMEs which operated the 9-5 hours. So they expect light usages at night and little complains with the frequent ip renewals since people shut down their office computers before leaving for home?

Just wondering if I subscribe this biz package for home, it should have no problem right? I sleep at night and if the IP renewal happens in the middle of the night, I suppose it is a no problem right?

What do you mean by light usage? I play online games, do heavy downloads (IDM + torrents mostly) and how bad is this IP renewal thing? Thanks.

it is at the P1 discretion power. but at least fresh subcriber got 1 month cooling period, not satisfied just terminate it fast.

however, it seems P1 fibre better than Maxis fibre already, instead paying to Maxis, rather jump to P1 or back to TM.

Non-resumable direct link will need to start again from beginning. 24h cctv surveillance might have some interruptions. Online gaming might dc as well. If you do not mind or you monitor the time ip renewal time, there might as well has no problem.

Non-resumable direct link will need to start again from beginning. 24h cctv surveillance might have some interruptions. Online gaming might dc as well. If you do not mind or you monitor the time ip renewal time, there might as well has no problem.
*
if exactly 24 hour should be no problem.. Just on-off you modem at 4-5 am once and you set. As for direct download, only free account for rapidshare and etc. will be affected. If you wanna download for 100GB a months better invest in rapidleech or newsgroup. As for 24h cctv surveillance, a few second should be ok.. Most cctv record is using LAN, just when owner wanna view the recording he/she will be using the internet. Just remember, RM99 will get you 1mbps streamyx before..

How about international line.. able to support 5mbps for most of the time? My unifi is slow down around 8-12pm to around 3-4 mbps. Other than that, fully able to utilized 5mbps.

Yeah I have Streamyx too. RM 110 something I think for 1MBps. About that international stuff I'm not sure.

blink.gif Meh, unless you're hosting websites or some download king else a few seconds disconnection during midnight won't have much interruption ba.. Plus, in term of promotional price it's already beaten UniFi by RM50 per month(VIP 5) and unlimited quota while VIP5 has 60GB cap in future. Must say it's a good deal larh.. brows.gif

Anyway, I'm stilling waiting for their installation confirmation, registered on 10/10 though..

Judging with P1 and their crappy CS, I'd rather not stick to them. Who knows what nonsense they would come up with later on. I have heard of bad experiences with P1 FTTH when I installed UniFi BIZ 20 FTTH last week from TM installers that deals with P1 as well. You pretty get what you pay for.

I called on Sunday to force P1 to terminate my account, the next day Monday P1 responded .... shakehead.gif
http://www.klseet.com/index.php/p1-fiber-problems-a-issues

Since I've already unplug & terminated my P1 Fiber, I'm not sure what P1 is doing "that will take effect on 16Oct". blink.gif

For those who is using P1 Fiber, please monitor & check any changes to the daily IP renewal nuisance, hopefully P1 either extend or just don't renew until user turn off/on the RG ..... yawn.gif

no matter whether is fibre or wireless 4G wimax product, P1 service is really very very last in your list that u wish to encounter,..

that's what i facing as well, but end up i choose simple solution,.

glad it over with p1 1 years plus ago,. i was in the first batch to subscribe the p1 wimax when it first launch in penang ( 5 area in penang island only ),.. they dont even give a damn to long term clients like me,.

imagine what about fibre,.. different product but under same 100% lame lousy staff to handling,.. doh.gif

You must be kidding me ... sweat.gif

Daily force IP renewal to me is totally nuisance, not to mention possible schedule/unschedule downtime ...

What really make me angry is that, P1 did not inform me upfront, after complaint, at least in 2 occassions P1 asked me to subscribe fixed IP mad.gif

If the design is to con/cheat customer later on, then I have issue with that ! shakehead.gif

Agreed.

I run a small biz and need to work at home to deal with partners/customers at various timezone including GMT-7
We need to ftp data and also voice (Skype/GoToMeeting/VoIP).

My original plan is to get P1-ForBiz as the primary, UniFi-VIP as backup ....
After 1 big round wasted 2 months, dnded up now I still have to stick with the devil I know ==> UniFi-VIP ...

I'm ok if I use it for normal browsing/downloading, but I believe P1 should not do this to biz users.

Honestly, this is my first time subscribing P1, both 4G & Fiber.
The 4G is used as temporary measure at another new office where it's still waiting for TM to activate fiber backend.
So far I'm ok with the 4G, nothing to great to shout about.

I have a customer near P1 building at Jln222, each time I passed by I thought wah P1 so big building, so big advertisement, should be ok wor ....

You are quite right, I thought I have vomit-thunder with others, those P1 CS simply amazing, they simply don't know what's going on, simply tai-chit-delay until I surrender .... rclxub.gif

Now I simply don't understand who & what are actually inside the P1 building ... doh.gif

i have very ver bad experience with p1,.

even though other ISP/telco might consider quite bad service,.. but trust me, p1 is way more worse than any quite bad standard doh.gif

and the way they make their client pay for everything without it on the contract paper,.

everything is catergory under the *Terms and Condition
they simply can add any T&C that they want or modify it anytime without any notice/inform to us as client in that contract rclxub.gif

my new shop currently under decoration, just got phone line inside, if use P1 ForBiz Fiber , do they need connect fiber cable into my shop? my plaster ceiling haven't install yet

my shop just got 3pc(LAN) and 3~4 wireless device, and IP Cam surveillance, I still can use it like normal?

For the ip renew everyday, I still can use Dyn Standard DNS to auto update the ip right?

For Fixed IP : 5 for RM300, it's per month or monthly? as I just need 1 fix ip

Do i still can get a 04 (penang) fix line phone number?

Does it come with modem router? if not which brand all in one can support? looking for wireless N 300mbps, and got use 16port gigabit switch too.

For internet speed, if can stable i don't mind for 1~3mbps

So ur shop is still under renovation, I strongly suggest u leave the plaster ceiling last.. They need to pull a fiber cable into ur shop. It's better inside than raw outside the plaster ceiling..
I regret for not doing internal fiber wiring in my newly rebuilt house..
About the daily IP renewal I have no idea, my installation has been appointed next week..
They come with a d-link gigabit router which is specially made for P1.. and a funny phone.
For ur information the phone number is from P1 themself.. if you can it's better to use back ur old phone number line coz P1 voice can have problems anytime..

this friday i'm too getting my F1 forbiz installation, the IP change shouldn't take a long time right? It should be jus few min, same lik "on and off" the router. Do we need to do it manually? I don mind that if it happen during midnight. The phone no is 03xxxx as selangor area, this is what i get from them. How bout the line stability issue? I saw Maxis Fiber 10mbps many ppl complain thus i din subscribe for it. Does this P1 worse? Who can confirm if we not satisfy for 1 month can return within it without any charges?

It's nice to see u enjoying it, mind if I ask how come torrent only reaches 2.3mbps? :-/ Shouldn't it be at full speed?
If they really throttle torrent I might just subscribe to a VPN service which cost no more than RM30/month still worth more than VIP5

no, wat i meant was......its at full speed, 20mbps speed, which gives 2.5mbps max download speed......

i mean 2.3mbps is 2.3 megabytes per second, not megabits.......

they din throttle torrent......im downloading at full speeds most of the time, definitely oso depends on the seeders, but the speed is never throttled if the seeders r gud....

P1 financial stats have been bleeding for years now.

Don't expect them to be the most generous when providing sufficient international bandwidth. They'll have to resell their lines as much as possible to remain alive.

P1 has bad reputation.
Mainly due to their "potong campaign" some time ago and their 3G/4G/Wimax.

I have never tried their services until now.
From my experience so far, *touch wood*
P1 fibre gives me the best experience amongst all the isps.

My connection 24/7 - 1 month 16days now.

I am happy.

YES, but have to pay monthly rental of RM26

2. how long does it take terminate tm phone and streamyx
This you ask TM when you go submit termination form at TM Point.

3. how long to install fiber for first timer? is it 4 to 8 hours as stated in website?
Depends

4. i am wondering if i get p1 to install before i terminate streamyx. would it be possible to get new p1 phone numver revert to my old phone number when successfully terminate streamyx?
NO, P1 is P1. TM is TM. Voip vs Landline

that is my question for now. very excited to get this high speed  rclxms.gif simce i managed to register on sunday
Congrats.
Acceptance when knowing installation is in terrace house or the address is in your SSM registration?

the service address is my house which is different from my ssm. I received confirmation order email from them, is it still possible for them to cancel this Rm99 promo with me in this few days when they find out the address is different?

is it possible to use my tm phone number for the new p1 voip?

I need to know how long is the test/trial period of P1 business broadband package before the contract start in.

We found out after testing, theres a problem with one of program online running, since we have unifi too, we tested both unifi and p1 fiber, only p1 fiber got the problem. Management decided its not worthwhile, so even thought p1 fiber is cheaper on same package speed, but the problem lies on p1 ip range. So decided to cancel it.
But nobody knows know to do cancellation on p1 since its not mention on p1 website and what is the penalty since the installation was done this week, tuesday.

So how do we go about the cancellation process, I remember there's trial period for p1 wimax but I dont know p1 fiber got this trial or not. Thanks.

As for the application, its company confidential.

Rather skeptical about your claim.

I haven't encounter an online program that is dependent on ip address, not yet.
moreover, P1 and unifi shares the same backbone.

Your management decides it is not worthwhile compared with unifi?
charity organization issit?
P1 RM99 vs Biz5 RM199

simple solution to your problem, just give P1 a call.

maybe I sounded harsh but I am skeptical about his claim.

This is internet access we are talking about,
Nothing involves backward compatibility or reliability.
Either there is internet or there is none.

I assure you,
I am one of the most demanding, fussy,
pain-in-the-ass customer where internet access is concerned.

I do not tolerate disconnections, not even frequent ip renewals
throttle of p2p, bandwidth shaping, website blocking,
high pings, quotas or lousy wifi routers.

If there is anything wrong with P1 fiber,
I would know.

Maybe you can share what's really the problem since you already tested it. Most of the time it's just a setting. Never encounter anything to do with ip range. Except for some geo-based restriction. which mostly not applied in malaysia. Something like hulu or netflix.

Unless you said the provlem about routing, latency and international bandwidth than it's understandable.

We are running a SIP server using port 5060. Apparently P1 fiber router Voip is also using the same port.
We are not able to do port forwarding on the port to access our SIP Server from external.

Anyone encountering the same problem and got idea on how to resolve this. Forget P1 cs.

If we can't resolve this. we might need to cancel P1 fiber.

Default 5060 port for sip is often configurable and it can be of any higher ports, UDP.
Why would you use the same port as P1?
Alternately, just release P1's sip port from the voip config.

If you have static IP addresses, you can use one-to-one NAT.
Change the default sip port 5060 on each phone to a different number diff RTP ports.

Now I know why P1 has the weird term:
P1 voice line must be active with bare minimum of one (1) call per month/bill cycle - to any number, on any call duration.
Naturally P1 does not want anyone to mess with or configure their own sip server.

Now this makes me wonder whether
Unifi and Maxis uses 5060 for their sip server.

My suggestion, cancel P1

Unifi is using different vlan for voip. So it's will not conflicted with user setting. Maxis dunno.

Easier, use different sip port which is configurable by user.

got my installation. my speed is like 4.66mbps (fastest) at midnight.

Just a friendly reminder though to all people who wanna instsll fiber, beware of greedy pesky tm contractor. once u mention u dun read the terms and condition, u will hit jackpot. rclxms.gif

they will try to cheat you money on the fiber length thing. mad.gif here goes my story.

when they come to install, they will check where is phone line cable thing (manhole)which is in your house (inside of fencing but outside of your house) Then they will want to install it nearest to it BECAUSE: THEY FREAKING WANT EASIER WORK to be done vmad.gif and reduce the fiber length to save mone as they boughr it from tm. they want to install it at my living room. they wanna drill a hole at my wall which has wallppaper. if i let them do it, i would get a hole at my living room and have to replace whole wallpaper cry.gif since they can only cover the hole with cement or those grout thing.

during half point of installation, they say p1 only gives them 15m of fiber from distribution point to your house. exceeding that length they will charge you RM50 for every 5m. this money will be paid to p1 instead of them.. surely it will exceed 15m since my house is like 6 houses away from the point. that will be an extra charge of RM 300+. then here comes the interesting part, they say if you pay them RM 200, they will write less or equal to 15m in the form and help me save RM100++ thumbup.gif .when i go read terms andcondition carefull, its actually 85m from distribution point to my phone line manhole and 15meters from phone line manhole to modem. shocking.gif

then i told them they are wrong. he pretend to make a phone call. he say i m correct and start explaining abouf its being charged that way for maxis fiber and unifi and show me some unifi form. whistling.gif before that he told me he install fiber for maxis, p1 and unifi before. The point is they install it so mant times before, and yet theystill dont know how they charge the fiber length and wanna charge me money.

anway how they charge for the length of fiber for unifi and maxis fiber?

Congrats on your new installation.
so they install even when address is diff from your ssm,
heard some people apply but got rejected.
let us know your speed when it stabilize in 1-2 days.

TM contractor is notorious in charging unnecessarily,
and people do pay. Horror stories are abound.

They should be grateful they got a job.

Its impractical to reject based on SSM because a lot of people put their house address or company sec address in ssm

Guys, currently I am using P1 WiMax home, speed 2MBps. However, at my home, the signal are unable to optimized. Which mean I am only getting about 100 ~ 200 kbps. It is hardly to surf net. The contract for the plan have ended. Now I plan to get the P1 Fibre, do you think the speed can be optimized? Can I really enjoy the speed of fibre?

I scare after I switch to Fibre the speed at my house still unable to get full speed but still have to tie to the 24 months contract.

If it's rm99 worthwhile, but for rm149 avoid P1 at all cost. Their customer service is understaff & it sucks big time! My line has been cut a few times & they say due to human error! Today got cut again & this time I'm going to request that they refund me back whatever day/time my line was cut or I'll lodge a complain with MCMC.

no idea la.

i am using the p1 line in my office. we have two lines here, both on HSBB network, one is p1, one is maxis.

don't really feel like using unifi, although i think they are offering rm20 discount over the normal price for people migrating from p1.

i heard celcom will be launching their hsbb service soon, perhaps wait for that.

i think the most mafan thing is if anyone decided to use the phone number that comes with the hsbb, not sure can retain the same phone number or not if they switch to unifi.
