The "best" one or a normal/basic one are already out there in the market, and their price isn't going to change much further(except more and more brands/China brands spamming cheapo kb for entry market). Features wise also not expecting much more innovation, except more bling bling or gimmicks may be, LOL...
3. Similar to SSD, the later the cheaper/better(but I do agree with the phrase - "it will be never ending waiting...")
4. PSU? Why will you suddenly need a new PSU?

Apart from the weird size for modifier keys, others are fine(judging from picture).

Waiting for white rats to see what iRocks offer this time, their previous products are quite acceptable IRRC, but they actually is an OEM? I always thought that their kbs are made by other OEM instead, cause their keyboards deviate greatly from one another, with basically no similarities between each models(and also they even selling rubber domes kb too).

Used to be wander around Filco(and other Costar made kbs).

But with more and more competitions out there, almost all brands are having improved qualities.

Just avoid some "gaming" brands if you can as their price are normally higher(considering how much they need to spend on marketing ) and the qualities depend on their OEM/makers.

Incase you want something even higher tier, you can even go for Topre Realforce if you want. The very few kbs nowadays which is "Made In Japan".

I think he is asking if Ducky Shine will be a good choice of KB.

I can't make too much comment bout it as I didn't own one.

You mean 7G & 6GV2?

They are quite old models already(nothing wrong or bad for being old though), and there are much more newer/better/cheaper choices out there.

Any Filco, Ducky or Leopold may serve you just as well(not to mention their layout also more standard to the US ANSI which typically used by Malaysians).

But according to some early reviews/comments months ago, their QC isn't done too well.

Some random boards(out of don't know how many) are having issues of mis-soldering(in other works they missed up to solder some switch legs or parts).

As they are from Costar, I think their built quality is undoubted. Just that hoping not much people being unlucky to get failed QC products, and hoping they will address or solve this issue, not to say that further secure it with warranty/exchange.

P/S: Sorry if this issue had already being solved(I had not surfing other keyboard forums for months already).

Then you may try to taobao bout HPL87, a clone based on Filco.

Their inner PCB looks clean and up to standard from the last time I saw it in other forums.

CC keycaps are close to priceless and also a good price jacker.

So I will suggest you getting your bankcard/wallet ready if you despo for one, LOL.

Luckily I am CC immune.

I think you mean 6GV2.

Like I say, I didn't doubt about it's quality. It's quality is proven to be even "truck-proof" b4.

BTW, most non-gaming mechanical keyboard is very very low profile also. Infact most beginners sure can't differentiate them from typical keyboards by looks.

Recommendation? As you say you prefer a low profile keyboard, Ducky/Filco/Leopold should fit your need well. The Rosewill which just being stated few page back is probably a good choice too. If you want something cheaper, you may go for CM Storm Quickfire Rapid(though it is a tenkeyless/87keys keyboard w/o numpad).

For 2nd hand kb seeking, we can't help much here as it is prohibited to promote personal sales thread here. Though, you may take a look and see if any members here put up their sales thread in their siggy. Garage sale may also be a good place to search for.

You sure Topre keycaps are ABS?

AFAIK, Topre only use a ABS spacebar and casing, the other keys are all PBT, which is what make them able to use Dye-sub on it.

EDIT: My bad, didn't read the sentence clearly. BTW, I believe different brand different materials will have different texture and feel.

Nope, everything standardize cloned from Filco.

Sure, it is mean to be a "clone" and to tackle those low/entry end mech kb such as PLU/Keycool.

It will loss its meaning or market if priced anything higher than that, LOL.

Most taobao seller also out of stock already(as it is EOLed, pretty much expected). Taobao don't have such rule that misleading stock numbers/products will get penalty, so most seller don't care much.

IIRC, those keycaps are Dye-Sub PBT by KBT, which mean carried by him?

BL keyboard from Rosewill is reaching Malaysia.

I think he mean the RK9100, which had backlit(but from iRocks instead of Costar).

They made several boards b4(and also some rubber dome board).

Their products are fine so far.

I don't know LOL.

BTW, seriously? Nice info there, any source to back up the claim?
