White one is FC700R, black one is Ducky. did you notice the difference between the holes? the black one is further away from the middle hole while the white one is closer to the middle.
*
I think you should have another comparison with KBC's replacement spacebar or the spacebar of Leopold FC200R.

Cause actually apart from the spacing from Ducky/Filco, KBC's one can also fit in SS7G/FC200R which also having different spacing from Ducky/Filco.

In short, still need to confirm whether it is FC200R or FC500R standard is used on the FC700R.

It's a design consideration.

You should ask 90% of the keyboard manufacturers why they don't choose to have detachable cables.

For one thing, before you get into this hobby, you'd only have 1 keyboard. Why would you want a keyboard that can be detached easily if you have a keyboard? Take in mind 99% of the people out there use whatever they have on their laptop/office desk etc. They wouldn't want to bring their keyboards to work.

Then you have those people who bring their aircraft carrier logitechs to CC.

Together, we are the 1%. 1% might be a too high percentage.
*
Or may be they just simply too lazy/unwilling to invest more money for a new mold for new chasis. whistling.gif

As i never used other brands before, i am very satisfied with it. Maybe have'nt been poisoned by others YET. weighs about 1kg. They changed quite abit from the previous keycool87. The direction keycaps is not that ugly printed, and the keyboard stand is rubberized so it wont slip even when u tilt. the rubber feet is also larger. one thing i dont like is the 'keycool' printed on the spacebar!! and i dont dare to change it cos i may break it LOL. I talked too much =P
*
It isn't too easy to break the spacebar actually. brows.gif

2nd, practice make perfect. icon_idea.gif

BTW, if you feel like your spacebar is working perfectly smooth/squeakless, then I suggest you better don't touch(remove) it.

As for FC700R, help me to spread the woods, it's still not available in malaysia for now. mainly due to some discussion between me and leopold.

I'm hoping to have a revision where we can have a normal spacebar stem distance that are compatible with Filco and others keycap.(i want to install my custom keycap on leopold keyboard  vmad.gif )
*
So may I ask if whether FC700R following the standard on FC200R or FC500R? hmm.gif

i prefer filco over leopold. price of filco overseas/uk will be more expensive i presume?
*
UK's keyboard is taxed IIRC, which make them pricier.

Filco Linear R is a limited edition board(their first and only RED switch board back then) which is launched back in 2011. Its stock quickly got cleared out(in foreign countries) and the price start to jack up, and it should be pretty hard/impossible to find new stock by now.

However, Filco recently(around March/April 2012 IIRC) launched their new Red switch board, which fall under normal Majestouch 2 model. Not sure whether local distributors start carry them already or not though. sweat.gif

because Filco's regular Majestouch2 do not have MX-Red switches, hence Linear R is so special.

but Diatec's website is showing that Filco is releasing Majestouch2 with MX-Red..  sweat.gif  Linear R suddenly lost its "limited edition" position..
*
Not to mention that even the indicators LED also having exactly the same color, Linear R buyers got trolled by Diatec. whistling.gif

is there any "ready made" m.keyboard comes with red case?  filco only got pink, blue and black...
*
Filco do have a "Ferrari" red case keyboard b4, not sure whether still available now though.

May be you can check armygroup/inpad whether they still carry them.

Else way, you can buy aftermart case from taobao if you are really that despo, LOL.

wow +/- 1K sweat.gif btw how come all this custom aluminium body finish only come from korea? cheats n kmac is from korea right and did this also come from the same manufacture?

Btw red filco is way expensive haha..
*
Western(USA) side do make some aluminium case(especially for Filco/poker) from time to time.

China/Taiwan do make metal case for miniboard(Poker/Pure) and acrylic case for TKL.

For korea, I think they probably the most serious mkb fanatics out there. They really willing to spend lots for kb stuffs and they customise almost every parts of their mkb, even the spring.

I just bought the Razer BlackWidow Ultimate Dragon Age 2 Edition.
Red backlighting is nice. Loving the sounds.
I notice it is much more precise when you type and your fingers won't slip off the keys when you're typing in a rage/crazy/fast mode.
Still trying to get used to the placement of the keys.
*
I never knew that our fingers will slip off keys when type in rage/crazy/fast mode... sweat.gif

BTW, it is normal for some typo/weird when first shifted to mechanical keyboard, somemore with the weird layout(macro keys + shifted Function keys) of Razer BWU.

*
If you mention "locally(for the time being)", then probably YES, because some seller in GS sell them at a price below its SRP(below RM250).

If you consider importing, there are lots more budget TKL available from Taobao.

Price for new mj2 red is same or higher than Linear R.
I paid for mine at a price lower than the current Taobao price. I aint even mad.

Those that paid higher than market price are losing out, however.
*
Really? Checking the price from Diatec.jp, its price should be same with normal non-special MJ2.

Probably some price jack by greedy distributors... rolleyes.gif

Brown and RED(normal edition) both priced at 12,800 yen at their official site.

Actually, it is very likely to find M.keyboard below RM200(shipped) from taobao if you consider those China brands(some are quite reliable) and Tenkeyless.

But same as your reply, RM200 budget pretty much means a "NO" to get from local.

whats the difference between ducky 1008 and 9008 , and differences between MX blue, red and brown keys? Thanks biggrin.gif
*
For Ducky, 10xx is their low/entry tier products, which is cheaper. Their 90xx is their high/premium tier products, which is pricier.

Originally, there exist Ducky 1008/1087 which using Cherry MX switches, but it seems to be EOLed and replaced by 10xxXM series, which using ALPS switches(instead of Cherry MX) and also cheaper than b4.

Blue/red/brown/black means the colors and also the types of Cherry MX switches used for the keyboard, of which each having their distinct characteristics and typing feel.

Razer BWU didn't come with a key remover. I wanted to remove my keys to see inside for fun , but I don't know how to..
And I also scared something goes wrong
*
For removing BWU's key, you better get a proper too to do it.

It is recommended to use wire style keycaps remover for it to prevent scratching of the coating.

I don't even know is there a different between a Ducky Shining and a Ducky Shine..... is there a different for those 2?

and there is a version with PBT keycap?

can someone list down all the currently available version?
which of which is what model?
*
Shining = Shine, they are exactly the same thing, just some of just here prefer to refer it the other way round, LOL... doh.gif

So far, PBT still hadn't coexist with backlit yet, so the answer is "NO".

Currently, Ducky with (partial) BL are Ducky Shine, Ducky G3(partial BL) and Ducky YODLE.

PBT don't go together wit backlit. If backlit also means not PBT(except for the particular case of Deck Legend).

what are the available model that doesn't have the numpad and with red/blue backlit?
*
For model that no numpad, you are looking for 87keys(AKA tenkeyless), compact(like the KBTalking Race, which the poster above you are selling) or mini(AKA 60keys, which had no numpad, cursors and function keys).

All model with backlit(I don't include the color as I also not too sure how many color variants available for each):
TKL: Ducky Year of Dragon, Keycool 87 Backlit
Compact: KBT Race, Noppoo Choc Mini
Mini: KBT Pure

Of cause those boards above is not inclusive, especially custom/modded models.

*
Does the particular key-switch exhibit any odd/irregular behavior from other keys?

You can probably fit it by swapping or reseat the switch but it will took some soldering works and will void your warranty, so better sent it back for RMA if you are not willing to lose your warranty yet.

Ducky year of dragon is available locally and carried by some vendors here. You can probably search for them in GS.

For keycool, it isn't a locally available brand, YET. Storm88 is planning to carry them to Malaysia but the exact time is yet to know. If you really interested in it, you can try to get it from taobao(of which you need to find a taobao agent to help you order and ship it to you).

Taobao got(but the price isn't exactly the lowest + there are also 2nd hand switches sellers out there, scare they play dirty and sell 2nd hand as new...).

Else, try to see if you can get them from armygroup/inpad. Their prices are cheaper.

BTW, just noticed that the Dragon Duck got PLAY sticker on it. LOL, PlayInterative is the new distributor of Ducky? hmm.gif

i'm new to these mech kb things. is changing the keycap give any improvement or just cosmetic? also if putting the o-ring to reduce the noise will void warranty?
*
Mostly it improve visually.

But changing a wore-out/oily/shiny keycaps to a new one is like getting a new keyboard, it feel good as new.

Change to other materials keycaps such as PBT/POM may improve your typing experience too.

For the O-ring part. It should not. It is basically just plug and unplug the keycaps, which isn't prohibited by ducky AFAIK(not so sure bout ahem, Raz...)

You can always remove them first b4 send your kb back to RMA.

For backlit keycaps, it is a little more complicated. It is hard to find aftermart/replacement BL keycaps. If you don't mind your backlit not being fully seeing(BTW, most keycaps are quite translucent, especially white keycaps), you can always stuff on normal non-BL keycaps on it.

Keycaps on the other hands having different height and profile(for most boards/brands out there it is using DCS profile) for different brands. But mostly they there won't be too much different in term of keycaps height between different brands.

My Razer Blackwidow Ultimate for Mac purchase.
Was just randomly browsing a certain IT store in PJ digitalmall and came across the razer blackwidow. Noticed the arrow keys were exposed to give people a feel for its mechanical keys. It was literally love at first press. Oh my god I never thought keyboards could feel this good!

Went back and read up more on mechanical keyboards and I came across this video of superfreckland making a video review on the razer blackwidow, along with its one year followup review. The sound it makes is just pure sex!

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

Yeah it does work on my windows 7 professional. I made sure of that before I made the purchase. Detected right out of the box, lights working without drivers installed. You just need to install the windows drivers for the other fancier stuff like profiles, macros and such. You dont even need the drivers to get basic stuff like activation and lighting modes.

I didn't go with the duckies because I really liked the Razer's fonts and how the individual letters are backlit.
*
Bro, please be informed that the so called reviews can no longer be fully trusted nowadays(not only for the BWU case of course). Sometime, those reviews are simply biased and written by some fanbois/online reviewers which are sponsored or simply marketing strategy of the brands themselves. Of course I can't deny that there may be bad review written by haters(like me, LOL)/rivals.

In short, we should take those reviews with a pinch of salt, and trust more on hands-on experience. However, those negative comments may serve pretty well for the points which you should check about when you first getting them. It help you expect the "worst". icon_rolleyes.gif

For the last bolded part, fonts are pretty subjective. Some ppl like the Sci-Fi fonts and some ppl don't. If you are despo enough, you can always design your own and go for custom keycaps. brows.gif For individual BL, FYI, all mech kb with BL out there are probably individual BL, so you probably just got GIMMICKED by Razer, LOL. sweat.gif

What's BL? Oh backlight. It's not just about the BL, maybe I wasn't being clear enough. I certainly am not going through the trouble to design my own custom BL keys nor search for other types. Gimmicked? Don't think so. I went through many many different reviews and most of them are independent youtubers that also review many other products. If you go through superfreckleland's videos you know she's not affiliated with razer in any way.
*
Individual BL isn't something exclusive for Razer, so I say you got gimmicked.

Also, some reviewers simply review all sort of products(some being sponsored), and they may not be the most suitable/professional person for a particular product. It is also pretty expected for a positive review for that the stuffs are being sponsored for review(not pointing finger to anyone, no offense).

Lastly, there are lots of fanbois out there(for all brands), who are blind/willing enough to defend a brand for just the logo(and not quality).

Ultimately, whats important is that you got what you want and feel happy with it. icon_rolleyes.gif
