Added on September 18, 2012, 9:47 amLooks like ESPN STARSPORTS no longer carry LIVE UEFA Champions League matches anymore.

No wonder they never show the LIVE TELECAST of the Champions League Draws recently as what they did in previous years !!!

ESPN STARSPORTS carry La Liga, so Astro take UEFA Champions League instead. laugh.gif

hello.... need to ask bout beyond...

This morning i got call from astro saying that my old decorder is not under waranty anymore. So this caller suggest to me to upgrade to beyond without any installation fees and so on. Just need to add additional RM20 for the monthly payment.

My question is if i decided to upgrade to beyond, can i watch all the programs from normal tv? or do i need to buy new HD tv just to watch from beyond?

Please clarify. Thanks in advance.

you wont need hd tv for beyond but actually if you not using HD tv, you also won't need to use beyond, why paying extra 20 to them?

Hi all, was watching champions league just now and for this problem "please insert your smart card or call customer service" this warning comes and then goes the moment I press a button on remote.

Is this a sign my decoder is dying?

Yes, I can confirm that there is nothing wrong with your Byond decoder. Also for my Byond, exactly like what is happening to you and Smileguy, started very early this morning, I think at about 3 am 19-09-12. sad.gif

I am guessing so I suspect As*teruk is making some technical changes to the smartcard encrypted software or doing some tests on their satellite transmission which caused the "wrong smartcard" message and blank screen which lasts about 1 second. No need to touch any buttons on the remote... the message will disappear and the channel will then return to normal. Happened many times in 1 hour from 5 am to 6 am, each time lasting only a short while. shocking.gif

Phoned to a few of my friends (late sleepers) and they also noticed the same thing happen. Hmm... I am sure As*teruk Customer Support today will be hit by many phone calls from many subscribers who thought their Byond boxes have problem, so no need for me to phone As*teruk because I think I will get a "busy" line, hehe. rclxub.gif

The DVB-T2 are not up and running yet. My DVB-T box is spoilt too. According to MDA, the DVB-T2 boxes in SIN will only be available in the market in Mar 2013. Have to see the updates then. wink.gif

More like 'reconfiguring' their CS system more like it. I hope they fix their website because sometimes I get '400 Bad Request' errors, which can only be solved by deleting their cookies.

Hi,

First posting here. I am a Astro Beyond subscriber with the first Generation Beyond PVR with no internal HDD (am using an External WD). My monthly subscription is about RM155/=.

Just receive a call from CS offering me an additional PVR and replace my existing unit with the new PVR @ RM50/= extra per month (total 2 new PVR). Installation charges is RM100/=.

I had taken up the offer as my wife has taken over the existing Astro with the usual AOD chinese show and the Korean series one after another.

Is it worth it ? Also I understand that the new PVR with Twin decoder needs to have additional cable installed is that true?

jackdon.

Yes. the newer B.yond PVR has dual tuner (i.e. 2 cables come in from the B.yond Dish).
RM50 is quite cheap...
