QUOTE(john123x @ Aug 6 2012, 04:59 PM) the secret is called "dividend reinvestment". But I have only 8 months that got dividend per year.is u do so, its like compounding..... u probably heard bout power of compounding from EPF.... where every year increase 5-6%.... Minimum is RM30, average is RM50 and max is about RM100 per month. Re-investment with such small amount doesn't make huge differences |

QUOTE(CP88 @ Aug 6 2012, 11:24 PM) Passing cost to consumer takes at least few months time, at least 6 months I guess. Nestle able to report higher profit even when material price went up last year was because their revenue went up to cover the drop of profit margin. Dear all,
Need advice urgently. Would you buy a stock of a fair (not great, but not bad either) company that is currently trading at PE of 3.8 because it just issued a profit warning that there may be a more than 90% year-on-year drop in the Unaudited Consolidated Profit for the six months ended 30 June 2012. Would you buy and hold aka try to "weather the storm" if you think you have a fair chance of doubling or even tripling you money once the global economy recovers? I am so greedy yet fearful |
