Hmm.. just wonder for OCBC Combo, after finishing 3-month tenure, does it auto-renew and continue to get effective rate of nearly 4% if we continue to pump in 1k per month into saving acc?

Thanks..

Thanks guys. This is my 4th time opening OCBC combo and now only know the effective date for top up is starting from 1st of every month. How ignorance!
*
The effective date is starting 1st of every month as it is calendar month based, not the date you open FD. You can deposit any day from 1st to 30th or 31st of the month.

It stated in t n c that it has to be fresh fund. Thus you need to IBG out to other bank and back as fresh fund if you want to continue ...

Just came back from the CNY dinner by Bank Rakyat. Impressed with their kind gesture with the nice dinner and also not forgetting the big hamper I got for the last 10 lucky ones. About 15 tables and about 60 hampers were given away!

Thanks Bank Rakyat!

Yup, I calculated the 4 months with 0.1% interest as that's rate I was told and did not include the remaining 8 months in the calculation as that is variable. Just a rough comparison with the closest "rival" which is OCBC FD combo with 3 months tenure. Apologies if my post is causing confusion  blush.gif

ah, i see... for this hlb calc, you considered only the first 4 months which of course will be the worst part. the best part is actually the last 8 months with the major portion earning a full 4.18% p.a which makes it effective >3.95% p.a. for a full 12 months.

but of course, everyone looks for best deals for 1m, 3m, 6m, 9m, 12m, whatever that suits our needs. smile.gif

But it needs to open/top up Just one account, similar to CASA + promotion FD rate combo.

So total fund effective rate is lower than 4%.

CIMB 4.88% is step up

1st to 5th month you will get much lower rate

6th month only you will get 4.88%

Effective rate for the whole tenure is much lesser.

+1 and KFH @3.88 is still lower than OCBC combo final effective rates which is around 3.9xx% assuming top up of 1k for subsequent 2 months to the SmartSaver a/c with no withdrawal.

But please do not forget KFH pays advance FD interest, this means full interest will be paid
within first 2 weeks into KFH saving account.

Hi guys, I just got back and need to go renew some of my FDs and looking at UOB 3.65% for 9 months. Any step up FD giving better rates offered by commercial banks that do not require us to deposit into savings?

I am not going for split promo anymore.
