I will choose contract over permanent if salary is higher

Both sound good.
I would choose Exxon.
Money wise, you should be getting more, based on how much OT you will work (which i assume is alot, generally us OnG are exposed to long hours, especially support Techs).
Hotel stay? free food? these can be bought.
+plus, getting into Oil&Gas is always a good choice financial wise. The sky is the limit ($). Exxon is a BIG name, only the best of the best.

Good pay for age of 23.
Wish you all the best.

Definitely exxon bro.. the higher salary you got the next jump will be even higher.

Just a few hint* heard that IBM is paying well for their support even up to 10k, especially if you know other languages such as Thai/Jap/Korea/france/germany/uk accent.

from the news I saw many people happy for the Rm200 smartphone rebate, and also a news report states that 35% of freshgrads earn less than rm1800

and then from this thread it seems most people here are doing great, not eligible for most, if not all the money distribution scheme by AhJib.

Hey guys,

anyone know what is the rate for a PhD holder here in Malaysia? Assuming the holder is working at local universities. A range perhaps?
*
PhD holder will hold the position of pensyarah kanan at local unis. Grade DH48. Salary wise, I would say around Rm7~8k++, including allowances.

One of the benefits is:;
After a few years (in my senior's case, 3.5 years), got a leave of what the lecturers called 'sabbatical leave' for 9 months.
You could go to any uni in the world; provided they accepted you, and willing to give you allowance while you (and your family) are staying there.
It's not really a holidays, as you'll still have to work at their uni (if not who are willing to pay you such a huge amount of money for 9 months laugh.gif), but I'm not too sure about the task you'll have to perform at the new uni, forgot to ask my senior the details of it.

But for them, it's a family vacation: You can leave any works/tasks you have in Malaysia, go oversea for 3/4 year, got additional allowance while staying there, and the best of all is your salary in Malaysia remains untouched!
