who says shp 805 not up to the standard? u get wat u pay. with only RM80, u cant expect it to perform like its brother shp895 which is sold at RM180. double the price. n in fact, i think for only RM80, u really cant expect anymore from it. IMO, it is really worth the money u paid.

nabelon,
You will not satisfied with what you want as you always thinking how good the SHP895 is. Already told you to get 895 instead of 805.

895 or 805, better get 895 or else you will always be thinking 'what am I missing?' then if you dun like it at least it will be put to rest instead of of 'how does it compare'????? but 895 is in a different league, you will not go back to 805

Just bought a nice pair of SHP895 today from Jalan Pasar.

AT RM160 !!! What a steal, at least I don't have to fork out RM239 and a Philips Jersey... laugh.gif

Too bad, for I had to bid adieu to my HP845 which suffers from broken side plastic that hold the left can and adjustable head band. Furthermore, even the supplied OFC suffers from broken conductors from within. I really hope that it can be repaired.

UPGRADES:

The transition from 845 -> 895 though a lil sad but I'd actually enjoys it very much ! thumbup.gif

They replaced felt lining with velvet lining which is more comfortable.
They even positioned the driver tilted towards the ear's natural position, unlike previously the 845 placed it like the orthodox can where it is sticked to the far out.
The air vent of 895 really draws out the potential of what an open-circumaural can is capable of; contrary to the 845 'air-vent' which is strictly meant for decoration purpose laugh.gif. The difference is obvious when worn as the 895 vent really allows outside air in-out while the 845's vent is restrictive or should I say, barely plays its role to fully exhibit the 'openness' of a supposed-open-can.

Not amped, currently burning in with my old but trustworthy Hercules Gamesurround Fortissimo III for about an hour.

Will soon pair it a ONKYO WAVIO SE-150PCI soundcard after my NexG Prepaid done. laugh.gif

They hide the box somewhere on a shelf at the far end of the shop. I saw a stack of HP805 and the rest of earbuds and headphone for portable, no sign of the behemoth HP895.

Suddenly, I found an uber gigantic box covered with dust on a shelf hideously and found that it's HP895. When I take a look at the price tag affixed, I was shocked RM168!?!? But I keep my cool down and ask the boss can go any cheaper. The boss checked and said RM160 is the last/best price.

Holycow, jadi, and now after another 5-hours of burn-in, still no sign of vast difference in terms of sound quality but it seems like the high frequency part have yet to came into picture as I can hear the diaphragm "shriek" (like crumpling some plastic) noise. Maybe a few weeks more to unleash the beast.

don't boost the volume while u play guitar.
u should maybe look for close can. so u can lower the volume of the headphone.
else while u killing ur headphone. u might kill ur ear too.

ps: close type headphone isolate more sound. but hp895 open type can hear ambient sound.
