Good review, some what this is what I am find out for SHP895 vs HP890.
Philips have this move as too many people making noise on HP890 quality and easily crack which I suspect is due to their roughness usage. *Oooppss* Only those higher end headphone Philips still using the HP1000 design which is good for me. |

QUOTE(cha1981 @ Mar 6 2006, 04:20 PM) how is the noise cancelling for 890 and 895??? 890 & 895 is open type headphone. Only lower down the ambient sound but have no passive or active noise cancelling features.should a normal sound card be enough to push both the headphone?? or i should get an amp? any recommendation?? |

32 ohms impedence still OK. You don't need an amp to drive it but with amp any headphones/earphones will sounds better.

QUOTE(ijan @ Apr 12 2006, 02:01 AM) Hmm... I know HP1000 can produce very low bass up to 5Hz but my Rotel integrated still have no enough ooohm to drive it. May be have to revert back to PA2V2.QUOTE(KilJim @ Apr 12 2006, 02:10 AM) I know HD595 is light to drive as I tested it with HD1500U (Wireless amp), the music really sounds nice.QUOTE(accs_centre @ Apr 12 2006, 02:14 AM) Both also have their own strength. |

hawick,
There is nothing wrong with the price. Dealers have to survive by paying electricity, display space (square feet), staff salary, profit, income tax, cukai pintu, insurance, etc... While my selling price is already minus all these. If you think is reasonable you better buy from them to support the industry, if not just get it from me by following my bank in instruction. *Final notes: Buyer can claim that how cheap they can get but don't forget down to earth cheap price might kill of players and those who survive will rake up the price like they want. Good live example > Ship Freight business. Too many players and they are struggling now. |

We should stop using "burn-in" terms and start mentioning "Run-in".
Don't need those pink noise or whatever noise, just listen your music through out certain period your music will come sounds better. Precise bass and better clarity trebles. Good luck. |

Break-in sounds like playing harsh music, fierceful thunder attack like KORN.
Burn-in like let the electricity flow and achieve nothing. Run-in sounds better as your cans/system already running through out certain period. |

Aluminium? -> Dream on.
ABS plastic yes. Yellowish because of the laquer layer turned to yellow due to direct UV shine on it, in short words store or keep under sunlight direct hit and radiation. My HP890 still looks like new. |

Make sure you like the music and use the best hardware that you can afford to bring the best out of it.
Sometimes we do have different opinions as long as you don't shove your POV to somebody throat/axx will do. |
