Any recommendations on which amp is the best bang for the buck category?

lol.. cmoy is the best for HP890 IMHO... =P
reason : for such lower end headphone. it doesn't require such expensive amp, as it's limited by the headphone itself.
=)
and HP890 is relatively easy to drive. plug it to computer sound card can get around 80%-85% of it sound already.

Sounds kind of complicated..May I know where can those parts be obtained? Btw, does DIYed CMoys perform much better than those prebuilt ones, for the same price range?

there's is NO prebuilt cmoy. except audiotrack Dr Head. or Grado HA-1
if u willing to folk out 300 USD for what u can get with RM 50
go ahead, sound wise. own built one might have slight different, but IMHO not far.
and i never tested HA-1. what i know is cmoy is mimic the HA-1. and even using same parts.
all the parts can be obtain from jalan pasar. except the opamp. for that try to contact bsl555. he might got some.

will like to test it out when we can meet XD

lolz, more expensive is better? Frankly speaking, i would say the source has the most impact on the music. If your source is bad, then you'll hear shits even if you have a 1/2 million dollar amp and headphones. Then the next is the headphones... lastly is the amp. The amp plays an insignificant role in music-listening pleasure.
