if the custom ROM is developed based on stock ROM, then it will retain most of the features. only apps are removed, but are also easily installed back via .zip files.

CM10 is far from perfect. it's only a PREVIEW as they mention. nth to shout about it yet.

CM9 is good for other phones, but i don't really see the need of it for S3 cz the stock ROM itself is great.
further tweaks of stock ROM like the CheckROM and Wanam is better.
Omega has a lot of mods, don't really fit my taste. I'm currently using CheckROM.

WanamLite nicely tweak, it change the Status Bar to 15 toggles and remove some Samsung Bloatware and also add-in 4 way reboot options and nice kernel tweak.

The GOOD is you can use back Stock Status Bar & install back all Samsung Bloatware, which means it can 100% same like Stock with better smoothness UI and functionality.

WanamLite is the well build ROM, I highly recommended.

I am so HAPPY 1st time for me in 12k I always get poor 8k, hardly get 10k in all previous version. I know it is not important, just happy to know it is 12k that is suppose is score.

with power saving on i got 8k. without power saving 12k

Previously don't care power saving on or off (I never use power saving before), always 8k for me. Now it is 12k

by the way with that wanam, does it retain the camera features like shooting a picture and you get 20 pictures to choose the best one from as well as some other special ones such as...

Everything is there, nothing is missing, except as I said before, some Samsung bloatware is removed and not using stock status bar. All can revert back as Wanam provide it as separately for flash back.

WanamLite (or CheckROM, Omega and etc) is stock modified ROM, so you get everything, it is not like CM or AOKP which not base on stock.

Hi fella S3 user, I got a questions about S3's push notification & wifi, hopefully can get info from other user here.

Just wonder why most of the time my whatsapp & viber msg are come in late / randomly? Anyone have this problem? I mean msg wasn't instantly delivered to me from sender but mostly is few minutes later after sent, especially the phone is under standby mode. It don't happen when I'm using the phone.

Get to know the late receiving because there's time stamp on the msg when received, but when I got the notification from S3, it was like few mins late or sometime longer then that.

Fyi, I have mobile plan for my line, Sync function is on all the time and I'm 101% sure whatsapp is turn on. So far beside social network apps & games, I have only Green Power Free & Advance Task killer installed on my system.

And one more question regarding on wifi, just wonder why the wifi will automatically turn on (even I switch it off under Setting & drop down menu) and connect to any nearby network that I've used before? I'm now have to manually remove all the wifi network that I've connected to before in order to disable the wifi function completely.

Hopefully can get some feedback from other user here!

I was looking at the omega, and the front interface seems to retain the stock interface which i like, and yet gives me the option to mod the device.




so now i'm stuck between omega and wanam's

previous installed checkrom 3.5 but due to it base on UK ROM so no chinese input available...

reinstall back to Stock rom... any latest custom rom with chinese input?

yr culprit.. turn it off and u will get instant sync..

i don't like its mod.. function wise more or less the same.. some extra here, some extra there..

Ops... Seems the problem root is found.

I'll give that a try tonight. And any clue for the wifi auto turn on (even its has been already turn in setting) whenever I'm somewhere nearby the hotspot I've used before?

P/s: Do you guy use any power management apps? I'm just a casual user and don't really into rooting, so I was looking for some apps that I can directly grab from play store.

I know you not ask me, just give my own opinion on this 3 popular custom base stock ROM.

I use CheckROM before, end up I like more on WanamLite ROM, both kind of similar but I find out WanamLite much smoother and update regularly.

Omega ROM - too many tweak and none base on what I like. Also keep seeing here and there got people post on compatibility issue with Omega ROM. That is the two main reason I not even plan to try on it.

- Market Enabler - for Apps that are not available in SG, e.g. Google Earth (alternatively, install the .apk files manually)
- Trying leaked stuff such as Google Now, new OS e.g. Jelly bean (only available for cm10 currently)
- Full backup
