Depend on how you do it.

1) From 5th gear shift to 3rd, 弹clutch, then the car jerk like mad - grind clutch faster

2) From 5th to 3rd, rev up then弹clutch, car no jerk but harm synchronizer

3) From 5th to 3rd, rev up immediate release gas pedal, 弹clutch at correct RPM match, then only continue acceleration - no harm done/very little if there is

4) YAB way, 5th to 4th declutch BEM! 4th to 3d declutch BEM! Sounded very YENG! Very little harm. 1 gear drop ratio less, synchronized better & less harm done + sound like racing/samseng icon_idea.gif

Cut the crap short, cum midnight run. YB Asad + YAB Luke is here to demo!

On the trunk road which only have limited stretch to overtake, by the mean time u are doing double de-clutch, i already finished overtook and slot in my own lane adi.

hmm.gif I do this before the window of opportunity while the opposite lane is still busy. Then when it's clear, floor the throttle and overtake. Of course if I downshift only when the opposite lane is clear, it's too late already.

Well, yesterday's midnight run with Asad was a whole different chapter compare to the 1 we did last time brows.gif Yesterday we're doing a SPEED run BUT low FC brows.gif Meaning driving fast, yet still maintain reasonable fuel consumption icon_idea.gif The course we took the other day, that spent 2 hours we did it in 1 hour sharp!

we all hear are very glad your problem solved already. how's ur wife feel about it?
i am very happy that with only small contribution helped others.
i just lalalitamplom only.
i learned very sifu himself, YAB Lim. his grandpa story is very helpful. the clue is wind not strong, mileage 60K. long time no service cabin filter.
we learned that reading, making friends, waste time in blog/forum can benefit us.
moral of the story, do check to service cabin filter from time to time eg. every 15K km.
