One more question. So my 20k credit limit is it now 10k per card or is it combined credit limit for all cards? Meaning if I have 2k card balance on each card and I want to swipe 10k I have to swipe one card for 8k and the other card for 2k?
*
should be combined by default.

That is not what I mean ... I mean, let say I just apply MBB2Cards and just got the card with CL rm10k. I use it all within one week and my cc debt is now RM10k. before the due date, I pay RM1000, so that I have another 1k to spend the next month. Next month, I finish all 1k available and pay RM1000 again before the due date. This process continue forever. LOL. Based on 8.8% pa, my debt is actually free of interest if:

Spend RM1000 on weekend with AMEX to utilize RM50 cash back.
TP to cash voucher.

Correct?

Long answer:
I would suggest that you read up online about what is called compound interest and then use your favourite search engine to find a credit card interest calculator and then enter the figures of your scenario. It might be challenging to find a calculator which takes into account so many variables so you might need to create an Excel sheet for this.

Short answer:
It will not work out quite the way you think.

My current credit limit is 20k but when they upgrade my Sony Card to Maybankard 2 and I only get a gold card. I was kinda expecting a platinum card. Damn you CS people. This is not even an upgrade, just a conversion. Can I complain and request for a Platinum Card?

Complain on what basis? If you wish to get the platinum card, then did you submit proper income documents?

I'm pretty sure that's the intention of Maybank into making the public thinks it's so easy with just a simple 8.8%p.a haha .. so everyone think like you and everyone apply this credit card ...

I'm not very smart so I also can't answer you question but I'm pretty sure Maybank is just not that stupid haha ... 1 year ago I was in really deep shit .. almost the same case as you .. owing 10k and can't pay .. so i went 1U and ask them, they explained bit by bit to me .. in the end I got so scared by the calculation, I borrow money from friends to pay CC .. but so long jor so I forgot ... The interest is something calculated by day ... I suggest you go 1U and ask .. they are very kind to explain in details

Yes, I did but nowadays they are very strict on what is considered base salary vs gross salary with commission. And savings with increasing balance is mandatory for approvals these days.

It will not work.

For example:
1st month, (10000-50)*8.88%/12= 73.63 (interest)
2nd month, (9950+73.63-50)*8.88%/12= 73.80 (interest)
3rd month, (9973.63+73.80-50)*8.88%/12= 73.98 (interest)

Therefore:
1st month, 73.63-50= 23.63 (net interest)
2nd month, 73.8-50= 23.8 (net interest)
3rd month, 73.98-50= 23.98 (net interest)

The interest will keep increasing because the it is adding to the principal amount of 10K.
This is so called Compound interest, which mean interest on interest charged.

But, taking into consideration of treat point
Monthly earn 1k x 5 = 5000 equivalent to RM 25

Actually in first few month you will get surplus/gain, but you will get lose after that due to the compounding interest.

Above calculation, you have to make sure monthly spent of RM 1000 is entitled for 5% cash back and 5x point.

Thanks for the workings above. If MBB imposed 6% or less than maybe can earn something.

Just charge RM10K into MBB 2 AMEX and earn RM50 cash back plus 50,000TP (RM250 in cash vouchers), then go find BT offering 0% for 12 months. Then every month for the next 11 months spend RM1K and we will end up earning pocket money up to RM600 pure cash back plus 105000 Treats Points (about RM500 in cash vouchers) biggrin.gif

Anyway, no matter what, if don't have RM10K to repay the initial RM10K spent when time comes, also in deep shit.

I have a supplementary card (Maybank 2 Gold Card) under me but i do not know how to pay for the supplementary credit card bill. I am able to check the amount at maybank2u but really no idea on how to pay it.

Anyone able to help in answering my question? I have tried sending emails to maybank to ask but their efficiency is just a speed of turtle and not really providing any solid help.

Noted you got M2U. You got MBB current account or savings account? If yes just follow the instruction for payment/transfer.

If got no MBB 2 CASA, go to MMB Branch and pay using the Cash Deposit Machine. Follow the instruction and key in your Supp card number.

OIC, pay towards principle card account and it will be auto adjusted for Supp. If you see the statement summary, supp card charges are included into the Principle account.
