I'm frustrated with Maybank Customer Service KL Sentral, i just went to their counter ( the one with the number machine), i asked maybank guy about to upgrade my MBB Dual Card Visa Gold to Platinum. He told me that its only for invitation and the required earning must be Rm240k. So, i felt shocked because the answer he gave is totally *facepalm*

I confronted with him, its for higher type of CC, Visa Infinite i believe, he said not sure, so i asked him if i can upgrade it here, he said can try but not sure can or not..

So, i told him, thats okay. i called Service Center and told them about my experience with that guy, they told me that is wrong and apologize to me. She asked if i want to proceed via phone as its possible to do that. I told her that i am going to KLCC to upgrade the card.

So, i went to Maybank KLCC and within 10 minutes ( fast because no one got problem with with CC i think, hehe) , i have completed fill up the form and their teller told me it will be done by 1 hour time.

So, now i will wait until its completed. Eager to have Platinum card.. haha..nothing better to do, so upgrade platinum card, at least can bragging a bit...people see, eh, baru 25 already platinum..lol..sorry

Next time go to Maybankard Centre (KLCC or 1U) for matters relating to credit cards.

What kind of reasoning is this?
If it is VISA Infinite, then yeah can brag.

ya lah, why people think Platinum big deal? Earn RM36K/year already can get Platinum nowadays.

+1. Nowdays ppl shame to show Platinum card, cos it is just normal card.

i dont think that only 2 branch are very good in handling credit card matters, i went applied CC in cyberjaya, no problem and the staff is knowledgeable
too. so, i dont limit myself to only 2 branches sir. it just maybe wrong place and wrong timing at that time

because people like you are old timer and have experience all type of credit card . dont your remember when 1st time you have platinum card? yes, today it might be earn 36k/year can get platinum card and nothing to be shout about. but hey, sometime people want to feel good about themselves. may i know if maybank dual card platinum can be applied by earning 36k/year ( we are not talking supplementary card and long time credit card users). i applied because meet their earning requirement. I dont dream to get the visa infinite because i know i'm not that well now, but it not impossible in few years later right

even World Card and Titanium card is just a normal card, same function like classical card. why you need to feel shame? you don't owe anybody except the bank .

Agreed. There are only two credit cards issued by Maybank that still have the bragging potential namely the World MasterCard and VISA Infinite

I hold a Amex Plat, also never bother to use because the benefits are much lesser unless for some really big ticket indulgence item

hehe..some people have chance to earn it, no issue about that. if your Amex Plat gave you not much benefit, go find a better card la bro.. easy..ask gen-x, he know what to advise

Currently, take advantage of SC or Citi's promo lo.. But I hardly utilise my current M2C or Amex Plat, so applying the cards is no issue but no point la.. later hand itchy

the truth is, credit card comes in handy when we really need it and also when the issuer give some extra special towards their card holders. But most of the time, it doesn't give much difference between other cards at least from my poor point of view on credit card usage. Nevertheless, just satisfied of what we have right now

Same here .. Since you have Amex Plat, do check their website occasionally, as at times the Platinum members get a better discount / offer compared to Gold card holders
