I was at the Zon starbucks, i bought coffee drinks and paid using amex, and when i login to maybank2u, it didn't write any rebate, just the full amount payment though. There were no promotions there.

Thanks for the answers guys!

I thought rebate only shows on 1st of the month if you spend during weekends? unsure.gif
Were you saying, it didn't show on 1st Sept?

hi guys, if i use maybank2card Amex to buy airasia flight tickets on a weekend like this, can i get 5% cash rebate?
Can any of you please confirm if Air Asia online process credit card payment according to our local time (GMT +8) ? Because quite a few airlines in this region do not such such as MAS, Singapore Airlines and even Cathay Pacific/Dragonair and all these airlines are on GMT +8 time zone.

I went starbucks at (duty free zon). Total ordered RM40.00 on 8th August

I paid online thru m2u on 29th Aug. Probably by what Fruitie and others have said, reflect on 1st of next month? If yes, since I paid the full sum already, what will happen to the 5%?

Just booked airasia flight today rm1k+, see next month whether have 5% cash back or not. at most only rm50 capped.

minus the stupid processing fee of rm32 left rm18.

Yes, it is always 1st on the month.
Well, you can use the rebate to offset your other transactions.

Shouldn't be a problem now as the whole world is already on Saturday but if one books this morning or afternoon, there is a chance that the transaction will appear as a transaction made on Friday.

payment does not impact your 5% rebate as it is tied to the transactions' date. Regardless of when you pay, On the 1st of the month (sometimes 2nd) there will be a credit in your card for the previous month's rebate. If you fully paid near the end of the month, your acct will show -ve credit (i.e overpay)

yes capped @ RM50

Given a choice, will you pay to Agoda via PayPal on a weekend or using the VISA/MC 6% discount?

I can't make up my mind now... laugh.gif

I am of the same opinion as MilesAndMore.

Like I said in my article on Discount for Agoda Rooms Bookings , for bookings up to RM1K, the diff betweeen MBB 2 AMEX (7.5%) less MBB Visa/MC (6.5%) = 1% or for RM1K = RM10 diff. And for above RM1K, better go with MBB Visa/MC.

The reasons I can think off why one would go with PayPay for agoda (using AMEX on weekends for the deposit) is

1. The agoda booking is less than RM1K.
2. Not utilizing the 5% cash back allocation on weekends
3. Has credit in pay pal account and wants to use it up.

this is the service tax (GST) charged for your AMEX, however, all Maybankard 2 Cards AMEX GST will be bear by bank, so they pay the RM50 already. but, if see at your Visa/Mastercard, that RM50 you need to pay
