Yes, it will be very expensive if I want to build a 100K DPS monk. That is not my target for now. I just want to build a monk who can kill the damn farting Ghom.
No, it will not be very expensive to some extent because there are people selling not-so-godly-gears for cheap. More people use DEX, more people will upgrade and dump their less godly gears (20K+ DPS kind of gears). That's how I got the Spirit Stone with socket at 800K.

game play wise, you didn't optimally geared your barb regardless of how/where (price/is it really the same for everything? one thing for sure you cannot have all the same resistance since you wont have OwE, unless you ONLY stack all resist which means, good luck funding that shit) you end it up same stats as your monk

price wise, it's simple, usable doesn't only mean people will be dumping gear. as many people dumping gears there are equal amount of said people, if not more, seeking for upgrades. which also points me back towards gear depreciation. you gearing your barb was the past, monk the present, where gear is on a constant depreciation basis.

DH gears are not really suitable for monk i would say. yes its usable but monks need high res items unlike most glass cannon DH they dont even care about res, or sometime to the extend of even vitality because the monsters are still gonna 1shot them. they just hit up their dex, ias, cc and cd. anything else are extra bonuses to their DH...

monks need to find the balance for a melee class

IINM, monk gears will only clash with DH when you start building DPS. DH will never look for double resist items

I think INT gear is the cheapest, since one of the INT classes (WD) is very unpopular. I haven't upgraded my WD since spending close to 3m to clear Inferno, and now his gears are worth less than 200k total lmao.

I play a hybrid DH i.e I stack 3 things Dex Vit AND AR!.. Of course dps not that crazy but heck I can roll confortably in Act 2..moving up to Act 3. My stats 36k Dps no SS, 36k life and 550 all res

exactly. when you start looking on crit/ias/dex, you know you're gonna fight with DH lol.

also, i think it balances out in the sense that wiz are too god damn popular. hell, most of the bullshit abuse/exploits are from wiz (vase farming, god mode wiz to name a few derp)
