hey bros, just some questions I would like to know.

1) am gonna register from streamyx 1mbps to unifi 10mbps, do I have to terminate the streamyx line? my house phone number is on that line too btw.
2) my FDP is from an overhead pole just right behind my house. Say I want to pull the cable, do I have to call one of those TM contractors? my current streamyx is running on top of my ceiling btw. So can I ask the contractor to just follow the same pathway as the streamyx line?

thanks! biggrin.gif

1)you can choose to terminate only streamyx (internet) & keep your home line phone number, or terminate both streamyx(internet) & phone line. After installation of unifi succesfull, bring the blue form(form you sign after unifi installation finish n success), go to nearest TM Point, just ask to doing termination, they will give you form, in that form you can choose to "tick" either streamyx only or phone line only.

if you keep phone line, you need to pay 2 bills, 1-current phone line monthly charge+usage charge 2-unifi bill

2)from FDP to your outside house wall = dont care how many meter = free, installer will use outdoor black cable, they will terminate black outdoor fiber cable outside your house wall - FTB will locate here = free

from FTB to inside your house, installer will use white indoor fiber cable. This cable TM already give fix 15meter to installer. If you request to route the cabling that over 15 meter = need extra cable + extra charge.

also with standard installation, installer will not climb into ceiling, if you request, extra charge will bill to you.

u cant.
iptv use 1 dedicated port. only the dedicated port can use iptv. the port also cannot access internet.
unless u can changed those setting in the router.

1) I think cannot, because old number phone line from cooper cable, and unifi phone line using fiber cable.

2) If u register directly from TM Point, maybe can doing auto termination for streamyx. Then ask them about old phone number. thumbup.gif

OK. Will try to configure and try out My streamyx modem n router model TP link TD8960N to see any improvement in wifi range as compare to stock router L7 provided by telekom.
If the signal still weak then will buy another tplink wireless extender to try.. by the way, may I know does the extender cut the 5mps speed into half ?

any way interesting info i manage to get from the TM staff come my house to test streamyx 8mbps

it seem Bukit Beruang area , Melaka suppose to get unifi by this year 2013

but put off coz cost very high, unifi a new taman is cheaper since when it started it small and you can slowly want expand or not

but in old housing area, they cannot do this, they have to make sure every house can get. If not everyday they have to face complains

and can get costly since old housing area is very big and the area is not well organized as new taman are.
So their budget to put unifi in Bukit Beruang run out since they use it on other new taman ad

so when will come? Mayb this year or next
This wat exact he mention

QUOTE
"Tak tahu la, patut tahun ni unifi dah ada kat bukit beruang, plan dah ada tapi duit tak ada. Kalau unifi buat 10 rumah, mesti dapat 5 rumah subscribe baru boleh untung"

"Bukit beruang sini besar satu bandar, nak letak pun mahal sebab semua rumah mesti ada. Tak ada nanti, semua complain besar. Taman baru senang tak banyak orang complain sikit"
