Sorry for this wall of text...maybe this has been discussed before
I got myself Unifi VIP5... Download speed increased, but everything else sucked I guess it gotta down with the Dlink (I never had luck with this brand) 615. Its really not stable. Everytime disconnect and cannot connect back, especially when open a few pages of websites. and when I connect back become Connected with limited Access Here is what I did: 1) Change the Channel to manual to Channel 9 (I check my area nobody using Channel 9) Didn't work...after a while got only limited access 2) Disconnect the Set top box from the Router Didn't work...after a while got only limited access...need to restart computer 3) Change Wireless b/g to b/g/n and also change the freq from 20/40hz to 20hz Didn't work...after a while got only limited access...need to restart computer 4) Change the DNS to whatever there is Didn't work...after a while got only limited access...need to restart computer 5) upgrade firmware to 7.15 (there goes my warranty), etc etc etc etc Didn't work...after a while got only limited access...need to restart computer Got very fedup In the end i google for "Connected with limited Access" Got this general info about WPA2....they say change to WPA only....well I did... Damn...it worked And I tried off the wireless and on back...able to connect with full access. No need to restart the computer anymore...yes, you do have to set the password again for WPA only on the lappy, basically its the same numbers Rock solid connection Will update if it really work to solve the unstable issues...not sure if its a combination between the Antivirus problem, old laptop or whatever This post has been edited by azbro: Oct 18 2012, 11:12 PM |

QUOTE(newly wed duck @ Oct 19 2012, 12:03 AM) Yes...on Streamyx 4MB...not sure why with this Dlink the WPA2/WPA was very unstable...and only way to recover was to restart computer...but after google for info, now set it to WPA..so far so good...just tried tonite only...with max downloads, youtube and a lot of refresh of webpages...seems rock solid now...I hope it will be this good..But this is the first time I'm using Wireless N in my house with an old laptop. |

Weird la I think your router got problem. Last time I also use WPA2 in my D-Link router no problem for all my PC, laptop, phone, tablet, PS3, Vita and 3DS all works fine. I think u should call TM for a replacement since its in the warranty period. Last time i called TM to replace my BTU they even gave me another D-Link router so total I got 2 now.But this is the first time I'm using Wireless N in my house with an old laptop. |

I dun think my router got problem, there are many ppl also experience same thing. While doing google I tried all the solutions given, but none worked, the WPAonly thing I also got from more general topic related to window OS rather than unifi. I gotta hand it to ios, works beautifully in worst condition. Can even log in to the routers settings. QUOTE(rattan @ Oct 19 2012, 02:17 AM) Why never ask for resolution here? Anyway sometimes its good for trial and error, in the process can learn. Seriously, I'm the last person who wanna touch anything in the routers settings. So far, I found this WPAOnly solution so that if others experience same problem can try it out. Especially if the are using older laptops. |

QUOTE(wilsonjack228 @ Oct 19 2012, 11:16 AM) oh What modem are you using? If you are using the huawei you can reconfig the modem so that you can use any kind of router to dial UNIFI. I am using the RM47 TP Link 740N right now and my HyppTV is directly connected to the modem as well.![]() |
